The New 2022 Toyota GR86 is better? How much Better?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
2022 Toyota GR86 Review! Today, let’s drive the new 2022 Toyota GR86. Toyota and Subaru are calling this new GR86 2nd generation, but to me, it seems more like a facelift. But now, the new 2022 Toyota GR86 comes with a new 2.4L flat-four cranking out more hp and torque than before. And to be honest with you I just had too much fun driving the GR86 with the 6-speed manual. It just felt so much more engaging and fun! Lastly, I want to emphasize how the new 2022 Toyota GR86 handles. Okay, now let’s go outside and drive the 2022 Toyota GR86, then!

Good to see Toyota set the chassis up correctly. Would love to see them in the first year of ownership offer an ECU upgrade to release a little more power without voiding the warranty.👍🏼

I always love your videos! You are the first auto reviewer that understands what the GR86 and BRZ were made for…..handling. Pretty much every review I’ve read or watched people always complain that it doesn’t have mega horsepower. Same people driving a Miata and they love it despite it not having much horsepower either. People don’t seem to get that the GR86 and BRZ are meant to be like the Miata, quick though the turns but not a drag race car.
@AsianPetrolhead

Thanks Jesse. Yeah i mean Toyota and Subaru wanted to make affordable and fun sports car, not a Dragster. Thank you.

Like honestly, it makes no sense when EVENTUALLY like the GT86 there's gonna be a bunch of aftermarket parts to make it faster especially the Turbo kits which is for the HP obsessed car enthusiasts to make more power. Or if you're crazy enough just engine swap it.
Very nice, love your enthusiasm for manual’s

Thank you for the test drive of this car. You seemed to have enjoyed it. Manual, rear wheel drive, normal aspirated engine; what a joy !!! Ordered and still waiting for that car to arrive to enjoy it myself too. It's a change to see you test sports cars and non korean ones (even though there's nothing wrong with that). I've had this car for a month (premium), and while the auto has all security features, the fact that the manual premium has blind spot detection is plenty enough for me. It's the main reason why I wanted the premium manual over the base.

I've always looked at Toyotas as cars best used by two. And yeah - those combined factors are gonna keep that time down. All in all - wouldn't turn her away from the door. Another great video! How did you get a 6.9 sec 0-60mph time when Car & Driver got a 5.4 sec 0-60mph time with their Manual 2022 GR86? Are you at high altitude or something?
Such a great lightweight, rwd car. Wish Hyundai still made a Hyundai version of the old Genesis Coupe. Not enough affordable, manual, rwd, sports cars.

That sounds lovely.
Personally, i prefer Subaru BRZ over Toyota GR86. Especially in my country. While BRZ is also offered with base trim for both transmission, the GR86 is priced 9million won much more expensive because Toyota in my country decided to add-in extra bodykit, a "GR" exhaust, and car window gutter (im not sure if i used the correct term for it). If it were me and i believe most of the buyers would love to get the base trim and mod it, instead of buying it with bodykit.

You know how performance cars has booming sound that hurts your ears when driving on highway... This new one is much better now.
Alas, sports cars are a dying breed as everyone is focused on electric/hybrid SUV these days. But if you can’t afford a Supra, this GR86 is the next best thing.
Right now, there are no Korean competitors in the market for this. Such a well priced, fun option for people. Makes me miss my old Genesis Coupe with the 6 speed! Sigh....

The problem I also have with the new GR86 is the boxer engine and its incredibly poor repair and maintenance options! You have to remove the whole engine to change the spark plugs, which is completely uneconomical!
