The never ending road to mastery

Ever been cut off in traffic? Ever got a speeding ticket? BJJ is very much like driving a car but there are no speed limits, very few rules and almost no-one has insurance. The difficulty with BJJ is the driver and car are one. If the coach has not outlined the terms and conditions on what the rules are then it's hard to be mad at people going super hard if that is not breaking any rules.
Communication is key to make sure that team mates know what kind of a roll you came for you may not want the Fast and Furious experience. No matter how you like to drive your body must be robust because physical strength and flexibility is your insurance policy.

I just started BJJ under 2 months ago as a 30+ year old woman. I have appreciated everything out of this podcast. I have been trying to incorporate your guys' recovery tips. It definitely feels like I'm taking an old, beat up car onto a racing track 😂. Thank you both for always being straight forward and honest with the sport. It's kept me pushing forward through frustrating days of getting smashed.
I disagree on the “game on” rolling when it comes to any leg locks. That shit can get dangerous real quick
“I’m vin diesel bitch” haha😂😂
Coach will NEVER say “roll lightly” you got to enforce the law. Maybe Gracie schools do that. I train in a pure brazilian place and no one is playing there and no one tells anyone to chill out. When I roll I always let the other person show who they are first. So I know what I am dealing with. I want to cruise and flow and if the partner is like that too those are the best, most productive and technical rolls. But if they want to smash, we can do that too. I just never smash anyone first. I think it’s just sportsmanship and being a gentleman. Of course competitions are different but if you want to train almost every day then no Auto Ban:)
Love the show, howdy from North Idaho

Man I hear Idaho is an undiscovered gem of a state, very scenic.
I wish any of the coaches to the schools I have been to would say "take it easy" during rolling, specially for us white belts. I only have ever met one coach who did that, and we as white belts learned SO much more about the techniques and the fundamentals.
Lads I use the rally car metaphor now all the time fucking love it so easily understood. Genius.
The harder the roll, the slowler the learning.
Loved raodrash 3D on saga
Make sure you can whether the storm if somebody wants To highlight you. Best advice at the end, come on! Expand on that, it is your best line.
Sweet
