My most favorite non-fact (aka nonsence) was 53: three kisses as "a charming display of tradition". Nonsense The Dutch have traditionally been very reserved and distant. That changed in the 60 and 70 like in ALL European countries. The difference between Holland and e.g. Spain or France etc is all Europeans give two and only the Dutch give three, which usually leads to bumbling, fumbling, clumsiness and hilarity.
@s7martify

It would have been nice if you had made an effort for typical Dutch names of products and concepts to have those names read aloud by a Dutch voice and practice those typical sounds for yourself a few times before recording. Because you are completely unintelligible. For example: Stroop(wafels) is not pronounced as "Strupe" but as 'Strope' etc etc.

Very informative. I'm Dutch born and live in Auatralia since 1955, I was seven at the time. I knew the Dutch had a great history but I was suprised by all that they have done and acheived. My bigest regret is that the Dutch only saw the west coast of Australia, thinking it to barren. They should have kept on going to the east coast, if they had we would all be speaking Dutch and eating herring.

@@ruudhazes1802 hi there , I understand that Tasmania was once named van Diemen's land and that N.Z. was called Nieuw Zeeland . Most of our family live in W.A.- Geraldton , Perth and Bunbury and I was in Queensland for more than 25 years so am aware of Arnhem Land - I think it was bombed along with Darwin and Broome by the Japanese during WW2 .

@@keithwaites9991 Wikipedia, poster was probably referring to these "proto" telescopes or magnifiers: "Objects resembling lenses date back 4000 years although it is unknown if they were used for their optical properties or just as decoration.[6] Greek accounts of the optical properties of water-filled spheres (5th century BC) were followed by many centuries of writings on optics, including Ptolemy (2nd century) in his Optics, who wrote about the properties of light including reflection, refraction, and color, followed by Ibn Sahl (10th century) and Ibn Al-Haytham (11th century)."
