I think that Luke, as a character, gives us hope. He really personified it in this episode. That was not the Luke that we were given in the sequels.

finaly disney did something right , the best episode so far, i had a feeling it was luke , the force was with me, i knew it was him, by the way i am 60 yeras old and it was very emotional for me took me back, time machines do really exist , it made me feel like when i went to the theater for the first time in 1977, then we didn't have good sound systems theaters but it sounded and looked amazing something ahead its time, can't even imagine with today's technology totally restored and dolby atmos or dts x , it was shot on panavision nikon lenses 35mm kodak film 4 track dolby mono, transfers of this type of films doesn't bring pretty good results it's something like restoring an old work of art , never imagined i would look this with my daughter and my grand kids very emotional

I feel you bro, I was 9 years old watching Return of the Jedi in the theatre. To finally see Luke done right after so many years is just.......let’s just say i lost hope with the sequels like so many other fans. Today is a glorious day.

Luke Skywalker came to rescue the inner child in us all.

I still think R2 was there so little kids felt it was ok for Grogu to go to Luke. I also have a strange theory that maybe. Just maybe. When R2 retracted his third leg- he was telling Grogu the story of how R2 was at the temple and Grogu hid in his leg compartment. Notice how Grogu perked up and then immediately went to Luke? Crazy I know. But R2 was at Temple he easily could’ve motored Grogu to someone else just outside the temple or whatever. That’s my crazy thought.

My favorite reaction video so far! I was definitely reacting like the guy in the black shirt except I was full on sobbing when Din took his helmet off. I was born in ‘76, grew up with Star Wars and this brought my childhood back. What an epic build up and moment!

@@reneelopez604 I was thinking the same thing Renee. If my local theater had a Mandalorian viewing party every week, I would totally go see that! Especially with Ahsoka Tano's show coming out. They could do like a double bill showing (Mando + Ashoka) on Friday nights for the price of a movie. All I know is if they release anything with Rosario Dawson on the big screen, Disney better shut up and take my money!! ;o)

It's def going to be exciting to see where they take it from here!

The whole scene through the ship was great I was like “oh damn this is awesome, Luke’s back!” But it was his theme song that really got me to tear up. It was perfect. But Mando taking off his helmet for Grogu really hit me in the feels hard though. The father and son bond is strong.

WOW! That most have been ridiculous. What I love about this episode is it def brings context to the "Legend" of Luke Skywalker! Think about how many people these people are going to tell and so on and how many other times through out the years this happened in the galaxy. So unreal.

You know how they could made this scene much more dramatic? If this would have been the first time mando removed his helmet in front of people. That would have made such a huge impact in my opinion. What do you think??

Yeah maybe in some ways I agree - but I think priming the audience is a part of making it impactful. Like we've seen Mando, and the first time for me when he removed his helmet in Season 1 I felt a bit awkward, like I was being invasive on something I shouldn't be seeing (A mandalorian without their helmet!) But in S2E7 when he did it the second time I recognized him more so didn't feel like I was intruding too much (and he was doing it for a good cause) so by the third time, although he was removing his helmet to see Grogu I knew who he was, and what he looked like, and still his rules around showing his face so it still held a similar impact. I think if it was the first time I saw him part of my subconscious would be saying "Hmm, is THAT the Mandalorian?" and distract from the very cool moment the writers created for us. So I think creatively, it was a balance which favoured seeing Mando's face a few times so we weren't given that shock value in seeing a completely new character that would overshadow such a fantastic moment. That's my 2c anyway
