Sovlin practically threw Hunter under the bus, just like Hunter threw his shoe. The security guards are going to detain Hunter and think he’d lost his mind after his ‘distraction’.

That's what I love about this story - just when you think that you know where it is going, it dives off in a different direction! Keeps us all on our toes! 😃

they were just on the archives planet. and its highly likely that much like hunter they kept frozen members of races they hadnt been able to "cure". so likely this is an arxur from the past and perhaps one that can gleem some light on their species and culture prior to the dominance of betterment. essentially find the saving grace for that species to prove the current methodology is truely from starvation and the perpetuation of war between betterment and nickonous.

I thought maybe they were torturing some Farsul in there. Sovlin can't handle the truth again and again, but he's always looking for a breakdown.

I know Hunter and Sovlin are all cute but that bit with Marcel really set the tone 😔 Poor guy's right though everything keeps going to shit around him. I'm assuming that bit at the end was a cryo'd Arxur from before the war so that'll be interesting to see how Sovlin deals with that knowledge. Excellent work as always Adastra

Sovlin seems more and more like a guy pushing a car without gas, passing ppl that offer to help and gas stations... all the time ignoring anything offered to change his views or help im at all. Its like all herbivores in this story are stubborn as a rhino until the bitter end.

In Sovlin's defence, he's a bitter old man with decades of undiagnosed ptsd and self hatred. He more than anyone would have a hard time changing, and what he's done so far is impressive progress by itself.

@@CantusTropus i just had the feeling in previous episodes, he was making some progress but then reverted back to his old behavior and then maybe even worse. He is a total speciesist, no matter what he sees or hears, he will never believe the yotul are more than retards copying behavior.

Love your videos. Can't remember when I found you but your videos are great. Stopped watching for a bit because you got me so hooked on the story I had to go and read them myself. No longer have the time to read them like I use to so back here to consume your videos. They are such a good quality and even when I was reading them, I still heard the voices you used in my head. Thank you for making these, you definitely are not getting enough credit for what you are doing.

Fascinating. This reminds me of a scene from space paladins other story “why humans avoid war” where they get to interview the hostile faction and learn of there true culture. Perhaps this was a arxur from pre betterment, I honestly hope so

The funny thing about sovlin is that as his prejudice against humans diminishes his prejudice toward onso will only get stronger. I dated a girl like this, she was raised to have strong prejudices against black people but as she began to be around us more for work she started to change her views and actually apologized to us unprompted (which was kind of uncomfortable to be honest lol) and we started dating a year afterward, but I shortly realized that she had just replaced her prejudice of black people with a strong prejudice towards Asians and I had to break up with her. Can't be with someone who seems to just have hate hardcoded into there programing 😮

sovlin needs to learn, some things at human military level are kept on need to know basis. and this one was clearly something sovlin didnt need to know. likely the arxur is from their homeworlds past and if lucky from the side that lost to betterment.

Just tried putting the volume at the lowest. I can barely hear the talking, but the music is completely silent. I'm actually enjoying it now! The reading is so lively that no background music is actually needed. It just breaks the immersion. Without the distracting music, hearing the different voices, it's like being in the room with them overhearing a convo. But with that dastardly music, I can't even focus on the story. Humble request @adastra1978 , please abandon the background music. Let the voices stand on their own. With some sound effects thrown in, they're absolutely perfect.

This is so good. But man, I hate Marcel. Every time he shows up I hate him more and more. Islantic's downfall is entirely his fault. He valued the life of a psychopathic piece of calamari over his friend. Mistreated his friend who needed help. Now that he sees the consequences of his actions he comes crying to his friends. You're such a cold and horrible person. Pretends like he's caring and loving but turns his back on someone the moment they don't do what he says.

Imagine the person you consider your best friend murdering a prisoner of war in cold blood and when pressed, lied about it to you to save his own skin - and before that, he insinuated a literal child should be tortured for not being scared of humans. Previously, that same friend has lived under the same roof as your family. I can understand Marcel's shock and disappointment quite well, actually and while he absolutely does play a role in Slanek's fate he still went through the same hell as the aforementioned. They are both traumatized veterans who were booted from their respective military once they outlived their usefulness. Both would probably need a lot of therapy to overcome their experiences but they were just discharged and ushered through the door... The blame lies with the people who just decided to throw them out on a planet with hilariously backwards ideas of mental health and let them fend for themselves.

Yeah Marcel was a pretty self righteous tool with no emotional intelligence. It's exhausting cos I really want to like him, but man, he simply didn't know how to treat Slanek.
