24:53 hate to break it to you, but while Fauna’s name is deer-based, female deer are actually called does. What her name is referring to are baby deer (also called fawns), and the fact that Fauna has spots in the back of her head matches this as well (young fawns have spots on their backs, and they lose these spots as they grow older and gain their adult coloring)

Apparently Nan and Chevre are references to a Japanese children's book. Basically the goats are pen pals and write each other letters, but they wind up eating the letters before they ever read them. So they write a letter back asking to explain what the letter had said in the first place. Oh and I think Zucker is supposed to be Takoyaki 😅
Actually, according to the Animal Crossing wiki, Chrissy's name is probably a reference to Christina Aguilera. Makes sense considering she's a peppy villager.

With Vivian meaning "life" or "alive" it could reference that story in mythology where a female wolf saved the twins Romulus and Remus who were almost drowned when their father was killed. Sasha: "Defender", unsure why Shino: Might mean "bamboo" or comes from her Japanese name, よしの/Yoshino, which might mean "good luck", "aromatic field", or "beautiful field". Also sounds like "shika" which means "deer" and "noh" which is a theatre genre. Tiansheng: From 齐天大圣/Qí Tiān Dà Shèng, a title that Sun Wukong had, and meaning "Great Sage, Equal to Heaven" Toby: I guess it sounds kind of like "Kerokerokeroppi" Zoe: Unsure
seeing your villager run up to you and do the joy emote and then get sad and walk away when you didnt answer at the beginning broke my heart
"What's wrong with your friend over there?" "That's Lucky. He got kicked in the head by a horse." "Then why do you call him Lucky?" "He hasn't been kicked in the head since." -Hysteria
fun fact about dierdre: i thought she was made to be just a neutral deer design, like fauna is, but i googled “white lipped deer” out of curiosity and it’s...... a real thing!! she’s always been my favourite but i’m even more happy to see she has more depth to her!
The "NUTasha! SQUIRREL!" part got me.
"Cammofrog" seems like the name that a 6th grader who won a contest to get to name a villiager picked. At the same time I like it though.
Even though Bianca has the tiger base, shes technically a snow leopard.

Some of the wolf villagers are different canines that look like wolves
50:07 Purrl’s name is also likely a reference to purl yarn, because you know, cats like yarn. 57:01 Soleil is actually pronounced So-lay, like in Cirque du Soleil. It took me a while to figure that out. 58:30 Stitches is actually male! He’s a lazy villager and his design is absolutely adorable :) Don’t get me wrong, I loved this video, I just wanted to clear up some misconceptions.

also pekoe is pronounced without the “e” at the end like petco but without the “t”
Chrissy's japanese name is simply just Christine which was probably decided upon to fit with her sister, Francine. Why is it shortened to Chrissy? It might have something to do with the media trope of 'serious older sibling, fun-loving younger sibling' and that trope sometimes comes with the siblings having similar names but the younger one shortening it as a nickname because the full name is less fun
For Vivian, “Vivir” is a verb used and it means “live.”
"They all have names for a reason" They do, its so they can be distinguished from everyone else
So, Bubbles is likely referencing "Bubbles the Hippo," a hippo that escaped from a zoo in Southern California in 1978.

30:07 why is the “ squirrel!” so funny?! 😂
47:08 Actually, while being a refrence to squirrels and their obsession with nuts. I think she may also be a refrence to Jeff Dunham’s very own Peanut. Both are pink, both named Peanut, and you could argue that both are pretty peppy. Intentional or not, this is a funky nod to an amazing comedian.
