The Mystery of The Mound in the California Desert

Northwest of Winterhaven, California, a few miles down Sidewinder Road, a dirt road off Interstate 8, is what Google Maps calls The Mound. A monument to someone or something but what is really anyone's guess. The Mound is in the middle of nowhere, but it is clear that someone spent a lot of effort to build and design it. In this video we explore The Mound and look at a couple of other oddities in the area as well.

The mound is a lock that is guarded at the entrances and that has guardians facing the mound. Angels in the different directions, and the way they are facing, is key. Given the inner circle is that of quartz, the mound has to do with upward flowing energy. Circles hold things in and hold things without - circles are barriers.

That site was a former/temporary Military Encampment (WW2 era), and the bored soldiers started the practice of the NAME markers in the adjacent "Valley of Names", so this is likely related to that, probably something the erected adjacent to a makeshift chapel, etc.

This area was part of the WWII Desert Training Center. The name was Camp Pilot Knob. The mound was made in the southern part of a tent area. The rocks in a line at a 45 degree angle NE of the mound was probably placed post war as it passes thru former tents outlines and sidewalk...don't know why they're there. Any other rocks you see in a line would outline streets, sidewalks, tent areas, ranges, etc. Unfortunately, the camp's been pretty torn up by people.

It is someone's Zen Garden. Has been there for years and years. We have claims in the mountains behind your filming and are out there multiple times a year and we always check on this Zen Garden to see what has been added or destroyed. And, yes, it is developed right over the tent outlines from Gen. Patton training down there. There was a sale of the properties down there many years ago and I believe this was one of the properties purchased. I just hope that it remains as is and not destroyed.

I like this one, my only guess is it could have been someone stationed and training at Camp Pilot Knob and wanted to erect something to honor those who served with them that maybe didn't make it back or did but they lost touch. Wikipedia has a map of the camp and shows that the Sidewinder Road, 4th street, and West Motor Pool Road are the three bordering roads to this spot.

This shrine was built by the ancient Ramen peoples. Underneath the mound is a Tunnel that goes straight to the other side of the world to the land of Ramenia. Next to the mound stood a giant pyramid of Cup-a-noodles. One quartz rock wound buy you two Ramen cups or one Supercup-a-noodles. There used to be a huge forest of styrofoam trees surrounding the mound but were cut down to make the spongy-but-leak-proof containers. Hot spring water was brought over from Buckman Springs nearby to soften the tasteless noodle products. The Mormon battalion was contracted to bring salt from a lake up in Utah territory. The whole production line was destroyed during the great flood but a dude named Noah was able to use the pyramid of noodles to feed his flock of dinosaurs. True story.
