The Mystery of Cellulite - SOLVED!

Have you wondered about cellulite?
There are three questions that have long puzzled me.
1) Why do women get cellulite and men don't?
2) Why do even skinny women have cellulite?
3) Why does cellulite manifest predominantly in the thighs and buttocks?
Then I saw an instagram post from Body Studio LLC with a picture of what looked very much like cellulite on the chin of a patient who had lipoplasty.
And the key word "fibrosis."
This word was the missing piece that helped put the other pieces into place.
We introduce for the first time a fat cell size-centric view of cellulite.
Fat cell size explains all of the hallmarks of cellulite better than any other single factor.
Of course, other factors play a role -- such as genetics, overall body health, etc.
But fat cell size seems to the proximate factor that drives cellulite.
Here are the peer-reviewed sources for all of those who love to look at the underlying findings.
The excellent histology paper that documents what's really going on in cellulite tissue.

The source of the cartoon showing large fat cells generating inflammatory markers:
Obesity and inflammatory skin diseases, Trends in Immunotherapy (2017) Volume 1 Issue 2,

The paper providing clinical evidence that a 10% increase in fat cell size leads to 100% or more increases in inflammatory markers.

The paper that explains how large fat cells secrete factors that downregulate elastin and collagen, and upregulate collagen degrading enzymes.

The paper that documents the clinical data for how deoxycholic acid causes fat cell lysis, inflammation and fibrotic septa.

The data on fat cell size in women vs men and in buttocks and thighs vs arms and chest were obtained from ChatGPT.
Search prompts used were "What is the diameter of dermal adipocytes in women compared to the diameter of dermal adipocytes in men?" And "What is the diameter of dermal adipocytes in the buttocks and thighs compared to the diameter of dermal adipocytes in the arms and chest?"

    I had cellulite on my butt and thighs since I was a teen. I’m super active and in shape (weight training, marathons ) I’ve been 125lbs for the last 15 years and the cellulite stayed. I went carnivore ( beef, salt, water) and all my cellulite went away so quickly. It was crazy. It’s diet related

    Very interesting. Since at a young age, I've been struggling with cellulite. I had my daughter very young, and since then, my skin has changed dramatically. I always thought it was a circulation problem since I started to develop spider veins. About a year ago, I learned about lipedema and started to try some exercises for that ill, including jumping on a mini trampolin. It has helped me a lot, but I still have a problem. Hopefully, you can help me with that.

    I was thinking about it, so thought I'd comment here. You said you're doing a 2nd part video on the lymphatic system. What about fascia release? We see a lot of videos and products aimed at fascia and how it can cause dimples in the skin. Your thoughts on that?

  • @aeducator1

    @aeducator1

    Ай бұрын

    @@c.jwingfield802 it’s all related. Constricted fascia suppresses blood flow and lymph clearance. Restricted blood flow limits fat cell regeneration, causing residual fat cells to get bigger. Excess lymph fluid is also taken up by the fat cells, thereby increasing their size. A fat cell size centric view accommodates all of the elements.

    This is very interesting and connected to fascia (which is mostly composed of collagen). Have you looked into block therapy which targets melting fascia (hardened dormat areas (dormant collagen) getting the dormat collegen to become active. So, does massages help in increasing circulation in these areas, and thereby help reduce cellulite ? Also, what causes inflammation of these fat cells ? Thanks,

  • @aeducator1

    @aeducator1

    Ай бұрын

    Yes, massage increases circulation which helps fat cells regenerate as they get more growth factors from the circulation. And massage also helps clear lymph fluid which would otherwise be taken up by mature fat cells, increasing their girth. Fat cells are big communicators. They are sending out thousands of different types of molecules. When they get bigger -- even just 10% bigger -- they start sending out more inflammatory molecules. Hope that helps. Thanks for being here.

    We should rename it to lipidemia then. I’m stage zero lipidemia. I also thought it’s cellulite. Lipidemia is connective tissues/lymphatic system, and collagen disorder. It’s no in the dermis and the fat only. The collagen problem effects the fascia and the blood vessels.
