Meghalaya is a state in Northeast India. The name means "the abode of clouds" in Sanskrit. The population of Meghalaya as of 2016 is estimated to be 3,211,474.
The state is the wettest region of India, recording an average of 12,000 mm (470 in) of rain a year. About 70% of the state is forested. The Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion encompasses the state; its mountain forests are distinct from the lowland tropical forests to the north and south. The forests are notable for their biodiversity of mammals, birds, and plants.

This was the most difficult day for us. While coming back, it was so damn tough and the bad part was that we did the whole trek without eating anything and I fell ill :(

Dawki and double decker bridge trekking on the same day is crazy that too starting from shillong. But still the shots were amazing. Should have stayed the night before in Sohra, which would have given you guys extra 2-3 hours.

Don't wish that, the place will become hell then.
Bro You should have stayed atleast 1 night in Nongriat village, there are Homestays there. In Nongriat there are many other things to explore not just the living root bridge. You should have seen the natural blue lagoon and the mesmerizing Rainbow waterfall. Going to Dawki after barely exploring Nongriat makes no sense. You should have hit Dawki the next day along with Shnongpdeng(0.5hrs from Dawki). I don't know who suggested you this wrong itinerary. Anyway liked the shots...beautiful.
