The MUST-VISIT Monkey Island of the Colombian AMAZON!
Welcome to the Part 1 video of a 4 part special series of the Colombian Amazon! In this video, I'll take you to the most southern city of Colombia, Leticia, which is in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, and I'll take you along with me on one of the best tours I've done in my life!
As we take a day tour by boat along the Amazon river north towards the village of Puerto Nariño, we'll stop along the way to check out some grey and pink Amazon dolphins in one of their favorite feeding grounds, then we'll explore SUPER COOL Island of the Monkeys, where I promise you many many cute and adorable squirrel monkeys!
Coming in part 2: We'll visit the indigenous village Macedonia, do a little dance with the locals, then head off to the impressive Puerto Nariño - a town that has no cars or motorbikes - we'll check out a cool lookout with amazing views of the town and the river, try some artesenal ice creams made with local Amazon fruits, and much more!
We did our tour with a company called Selvatour but I recommend checking out several tours online, or you can easily find agencies selling tours in hotels in Leticia city. Shop around to find the best prices.
