Sincere question, if he feels this way, why not choose to live in a country that practices Sharia? Just look at the wars in the middle east. All of it is because America depicted them as bad countries because they don’t practice democracy and took the right to invade them without any other reason. Yet in the end they retreated from those very same countries after taking all resources and letting their enemies (like the taliban) take control of the whole country, leaving them in poverty and not their "free, democratic" state. Imagine you burn all the houses around your home and then wonder why people come to your house for food and shelter. That's what westerns do with the rest of earth. You see progress and technology but cannot see what other innocent and foreign people paid for that.

It happened I would say after the fall of Ottoman Khilafah they were like shields for muslims even though these ideas were being spread by munfiqs in the lands. i kind of find myself surprised that ruling party in my country talks as if democracy is a religion, in my country not having democratic or secular values are portrayed as "sinful" kind of.
