The Munchies Guide To Classic Vegas Restaurants
Steve Chu, chef and co-owner of Ekiben in Baltimore, MD traveled with MUNCHIES to sample some of Las Vegas’ most classic food and entertainment attractions. He visits an iconic 50-year-old Vegas diner, eats dinner at a legendary old-school steak house, and finds out what it takes to be an Elvis impersonator on the Las Vegas Strip.

They're bringing more like it. I live in Vegas. Y'know?
I really enjoyed that. Maybe it's my middle-age, but I thought they'd thrown a child into Sin-City - then I checked out Ekiben and... f I feel old, if that's what "the children" are doing. Would happily watch Steve going anywhere, if the Munchies producers are listening. Just something so wholesome about seeing somebody embracing and enjoying the world.

For those that don't know, John Curtas knows more about his cities food than probably anyone in America. His recommendations just never miss. For all of the "food journalists" that are paid by the restaurants to prop them up, he is on the front line of finding the superb hole in the wall restaurants that just opened, eating every at every iniimidating Asian place in Chinatown, or guiding you through which expensive strip places are really worth your money. Fun fact that he shared on a podcast, John gave up going to the Golden Steer for over a decade. He was reintroduced to the place through friends, and the Golden Steer has transformed itself from simply a place that was successful for it's history to one of the top 15 steakhouses in Vegas again. The history of this place is great, but it's still well behind some of the strip steakhouses like Cut or SW which are in the top 5 steakhouses in the country.
This Steve is terrific. He needs a regular channel.
Love seeing Steve Chu
I did not expect to see the LIIT challenge! Stevie still a menace I see 🤣
Steve Chu is the 🐐!
I moved to Las Vegas from the Bay Area about 1.5 years ago. I’m always amazed on the mount of high quality restaurants in and around Las Vegas strip.

Interesting, what’s the biggest pros and cons?
The dude literally got a strand of cheese from what was falling off her fork and still got a mouthful.
I ate at the Peppermill diner when I was in Vegas for CES back in 2019. It was a great breakfast before a long day of toting a camera around a bunch of expo halls for interviews.

This is literally the only time I've ever seen a Long Island made and consumed in a Vegas dive bar. Good to see Peppermill still going strong.
Love watching this guy enjoy meals I will never get to try. Maybe. Some day. Update: going here in May!
Love this and thank you #Munchies for sharing new Vegas. This could have been two hours longer though :)
Love this guy :D more of him please
Loved this so much! Just subscribed and so glad I did!
Props to the Woman ordering the Scorpion! 6 Shots in 64 ounces of badassery!!!
There's an Elvis impersonator at my church. I see him whenever I go there. Elvis' primary favourite city is Las Vegas although he was born in Tupelo, MS, then passed away in Memphis, TN's biggest city where MLK was assassinated at a motel.
The Peppermill is a awesome place to eat I go every time I go to Vegas the atmosphere is just so cool
I’m liking this series so far
As a Las Vegas resident this video makes me happy
We need an updated Las Vegas Munchies series, like ASAP!! We have so many amazing restaurants that didn’t get featured in the last visits, years and years ago. We gotta get you guys back!
Goldensteer is 🔥🔥 been there a couple of times never disappoints! Tip if ur planning on going make sure u make reservations at least a month or 2 in advance

Classic Mexican and French cooking. ❤️
John Curtas is a Local Food Legend!
this series flew under the radar for me
Nice work, very classy.
Steve Chu needs more air time!!!!
great content
Understanding what makes Vegas so great eating at the right restaurant that gives ,that it will always give you the best tastes of Vegas.
I love Vegas content😍
damn Steven looks good in a suit.
Love this. Shoutout Farideh & Munchies for their ongoing support of Asian American restauranteurs like Steve, Eric, and Lucas.
I like this man a lot.
Please make this a series with Steve Chu traveling.

The fucking long island game is brutal and hilarious. I'd be puking chugging down 2
More series like these where you hit one city
Yummy yummy
Daaaaamn I used to be busser at the Peppermill back in the day!!! 2010 to 2014 I would be loosing my shit if I got to meet Farideh!!!!!!
Okay...if Steve gets inspired by this trip, maybe, we can see over-the-top omelettes named after expensive sports cars and steaks that are better than sex sometime soon on the Ekiben menu in Baltimore.

Video was great, but the bearnaise covered filet mignon stole the show 🤘
@8:58 LMAO! I gotta try that horseradish
He’s so cute 🥰
I love Las Vegas🤎
Great content! Ps was hoping the Counterfeit Elvis would join you at the Golden Steer, at the real Elvis' booth.
Steven is a sympathic host 4 this series.
oh yall got steve now on the regular
Peppermill def great portions. Great price
I didn’t see much appeal for going to Vegas but now I just wanna go for the classy food
Shoulda got the fruit plate at Peppermill, it’s ginormous
Vice - you need a new script writer. I’ll do one pro bono, let’s elevate chef chu to tony status.
shout out to my man in the soft kill shirt getting a free bevvy!
Give me all that French toast.
Love me some Hamm's!
Dont watch this late at night, or you'll be fumbling around your kitchen at 1am.
I'm thinking Steven has never been to an old school steak spot like the Golden Steer before, because if you have you know the raw horseradish will put you in outer space lol. I've been to that place and a few others, like The Butcher Shop in San Diego, and you need to dip lightly. I've seen so many people dip their piece of steak into the horseradish like it's ranch and instantly realize that was a mistake. Pretty much every time I go I see somebody do it.
The golden steer is great but I like Oscars just a tad bit more. Everything on the menu is great
Horseradish is the only thing that burns my mouth and nose.I love eating at peppermill ,south point and ellis island
The portion sizes in America are kind of out of this world.
Random person's guide to Vegas; Go to downtown
farideh eyein steve
We need a new episode of The Cooking Show with Farideh. We're jonesing
Whenever I see Fairdeh on Munchies I click. She's funny and beautiful
Like it that guides are not even locals.
Is this part 1..? It seemed way too short and Las Vegas has so much to offer... Can do multiple seasons like this and I would watch all of them!
I love Steve and Farideh, but having a local would have been better. Neckataly comes to mind.
That Filet -or- Sex.....either way i am taking a nap afterward.
Definitely looks like his name would be Buck.
I'ma set up a Bobbie trap in the trap house in case they raid it
5:15 When Elvis meets Elvis 2.0
As a Las Vegas local I have to say, 99.9 % of us don’t do any of the things he’s doing.

Farideh, meet ur twin on hellthy junkfood
Hoping Steve got laid here He looked like a banker in the middle of Sodham and Ghamora
I have never before seen a video like this that made me not want to go somewhere to eat. That breakfast was the most unappealing ever.
very cool host, awesome low-key spots but the production of this episode reeked of Food Network at it's cringiest
That's SO much food you get. Can't be healthy...
Homie is stiff and camera aware. I hope he loosens up in future videos otherwise this series is going to fail. You have to be a good dinner companion; not a good student. Weird editing and typical stock music as well. Best of luck; sincerely rooting for this to succeed
Why do people load so much food on the plate? There must be so much waste.
I hope they take the leftover food to go! Hate seeing food go to waste like that.
Farideh if you're in Vegas you need to meet up with Zest4Vegas she's a locals local guide.
@ 9:11 he says it’s better than sex to him. Obviously he hasn’t had sex with the right person.
No chef would choose the peppermill as a place to eat with good food, it’s iconic but the food is mediocre
Danger...
Here's the thing about The Peppermill, Quantity over Quality is not a good thing. There food is mediocre. That french toast avant garde platter taste like it came right out a box. There scrammbled eggs was flavorless. It was a big disappointment. I would recommend Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant.
the size of the portions and the amount of grease gave me indigestions! thanks but no thanks
Just so u know vegas empty latley hahah sheeet
The general manager is right. They renoed the Peppermill in the early 2000s around the time they sexified the TI pirate show. I REFUSE to go back to the Peppermill now. It's trash. They ruined a historical monument. Whatever you see there now is far from the classic diner they ran in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Boycott the "Peppermill".
Steve is an awesome addition to the Munchies lineup. Just didn’t reaaaaallly care for that episode 🤷♂️.
Frank sinatra, frank sinatra.. who cares?
* The war in Ukraine will radically change the "historical" borders of Russia ... (The forecast of the philosopher Mikhail Aroshenko, the city of Dnipro, Ukraine) *When will the war in Ukraine end? The ancient Greek philosopher Plato argued that only the dead see the end of the war... The other day, near Kharkov, the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only defeated, but intellectually outplayed the troops of the Russian Federation, of which there were twice as many! The Armed Forces of Ukraine used the tactics of the famous boxer Muhammad Ali: "Fly like a moth and sting like a wasp!" As a result, Ukraine received trophies in a week - about 300 tanks, guns and armored vehicles. The myth of the invincible "second army of the world" has been dispelled once again. * Roll call of centuries: After the defeat in the Crimean War of 1853-56. The Russian Tsar abolished serfdom. After the defeat in the "Crimean War" 2014-2023. Russia is waiting for historical changes... * 54 thousand soldiers and officers of the Russian Federation, 11 generals have already died in battles ... The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser "Moskva", lies at the bottom. In the Crimea, at the airfield near Saki, in one day on 08/09/22, 23 aircraft and helicopters of the 43rd Sevastopol Aviation Regiment (half of all fleet aircraft) were destroyed or damaged. This missile attack will go down in the history of wars. There have been no such one-time losses in the USSR-Russia since 1945. Russia has already lost 468 planes and helicopters, over 6,000 tanks and armored vehicles... This is a blow to the ambitions of the Kremlin, which has lost out to new war technologies.... * "Why do we need such a world if there is no Russia?" - said Putin. In the Caucasus, they answer: "Why do we need such a Russia, because of which there will be no peace?" To get away from sanctions, the USSR-2 will be created - the Siberian Soviet Social Republic with its center in Novosibirsk. An independent Tatarstan and a renewed Chechnya will receive Turkey's support. The real Russia is no more than other average countries in the world. The rest of the national republics are its colonies, which one way or another will become free. The decolonization of Russia is inevitable, like the coming of dawn after night. *Russia is still based on fear and professional slavery. She will face many years of rehabilitation and retribution for her manic desire to rewrite the history of the 20th century, because the Kremlin has long suffered from imperial "political schizophrenia" - megalomania and persecution delusions ... The Putin era will end in disgrace, but "collective Putin" will remain. 70% of the population from the "generation of envy of the successful" supported the war. * Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of examples of overcoming suffering. After the defeat of Putinism, a new stage of renewal will begin. Most of the "deep people" will rebuild. From the period of supporting the war - to freedom of expression, creative life, creative economy and politics! * The historical genetics of Russia is the permanent seizure of foreign lands and property, the recognition of someone else's as one's own. After the defeat, Russia will have a chance to climb from the centuries-old imperial dress into democratic pants...
this episode was just devoid of personality...
