I like the way Imhotep gives up when he sees he's been abandoned by his true love. You almost feel sorry for him.

Imhotep did everything for her and suffer horrible consequences. He came back for her, and yet she couldnt do one simple thing. I love the way, he look at Rick and Evy before giving up. The way he smiles at them, and almost saying "you belong together in peace". Thats why i didnt got angry when they didnt brought Imohtep in the 3rd. His ark was over! My issue was Maria Bello, while she did the best what was giving to her... but she wasnt Rachel. Lets not talk about the Tom Cruise one... which i honestly felt sorry for Sofia Boutella... she did such good job, yet, Tom Cruise need it to shine more and steal everyone roles... sadly!

He's not generally a bad guy if you actually think about it. In the first movie, his goal was not world domination, although he could have done it and there was the zombie people following him, but that seemed more a consequence of the curse than imhotep himself. His goal was bringing back anak-su-namun. This time around, yeah he wants the army of Anubis, but it's more about making sure the scorpion king himself is not there to destroy the world with it. Imhotep is driven by love. He literally went to hell and back, twice, for anak. I'd like to find someone with this much passion for me, and me for them.

This was Dwayne Johnson's first acting role, it actually proved so popular they went on to make a Scorpion King movie.

seeing the baby in the background and then coming to talk to you was first scary and then cute

I love seeing Evy kick some ass in this movie. I love the interaction between Alex and her while she's fighting alongside Ardeth. Alex: Whoa, Mom!! Where'd you learn to do that?! Evy: I have no idea.... (gets grabbed by the throat and backed into an opposite bookshelf, then proceeds to drive her knee into the dude's gut and socks him in the face) THAT I learned from your father.

Ms. Movies was actually correct. After Evelyn was resurrected she was still Evelyn but now also had the full set of Nefertiri's memories and fighting skills, not just the ones from that flashback scene.

Wow, after many a time watching this movie, I never noticed the knife throwing henchman, who managed to survive this long because he ducked everything letting everyone else die, died because Jonathan ducked lol. Also I love how every single kid has the same exact bed time delay tactics.

I used to crack up at that every time I watched this when I was younger. It's such a fun, random detail...

1. The Bad Guys wanted Imhotep to kill the Scorpion King so he could take command of the Army of Anubis so with it, he could take over the world. And they as his loyal followers would be granted power and parts of the world to rule in his name. 2. The reason Imhotep killed those two men on the train was because they needed Alex alive and they were about to botch that.

i didn't realize it got hate. I always loved it. Although the first will always be my favorite because it has more of the horror element. This one doubled down on the action adventure which is fine by me too!

I can't remember if I commented on the first Mummy video, but my parents names are Rick and Evelyn. Love it!

The little one managed to stealthily hustle some extra screen time for the day XD

The curious nature of children is why we've gotten to where we are today as a society. Can't help but love that about kids.

By the way, in one of the WWE promos during the show and a little while after the release of this film, the Rock does roast his CGI self at the end of the movie. It's hilarious!

At end there “why were the pigmy’s mummified?” mummification can naturally happen under the right conditions to a corpse.

i love the first movie because it takes itself just serious enough while delivering at least decent horror sometimes and has a sprinkle of cheese and humor i live this one cause its almost the opposite where it's more silly and over the top with a sprinkle of seriousness in it I can definitely see where one can be favord over the other depending on the person

Evie in real life is married to JAMES BOND (Daniel Craig)

The guy that played the Mummy also played as Darkman in pt 2.

Yes. It came out in 1995. Its Darkman- The Return of Durant.

Just one thing, Zeppelins were already being used before this movie, they were operational for commercial flight in the 1910's (the movie is in the 1930's). The Hindenburg tragedy was in 1937, which pretty much ended the use of Zeppelins. Also, the channel you are talking about that did a better version of the Scorpion King I assume is "Corridor Digital". A fun fact is that one of the guys that works for that channel is the son of the artist that designed the various stages of decomposition of the mummy and other stuff for these movies (the artist is Alex Laurant, he worked many years at ILM), his son also did some extra work as a kid in a crowd the first movie and motion-capture for the zombie-pygmy creatures in The Mummy Returns.

I love how you just notice your kid stading there and you say "i wonder how long shes been standing there" but yet everyone watching says "shes been there a while" she proberbly watched the rest if you didnt notice, carrying on with the legacy lol

This one has a special memory for me as it was the last movie I saw with my g’ma before she passed. ❤️ It was in the discount theater and we went shopping after. She bought me Powerpuff Girl and Harry Potter merch!

This Scorpion King is a descendant of the one with his own films. Unlike the bookshelves, the pillars did not fall in a single take. As you noted, the mansion would be used in Batman Begins. Brendan thought it would be more in character for the family to have a modest home, but the mansion fit the planned fight scenes better. His reaction to walking in to see this was basically "Huh. Neat." Jonathan was supposed to hide in a dry tub, but John Hannah suggested filling it with bubbles. He was stoic about the resulting knee injury after he slipped. They did account for the missing mummy during the chase scene. (Only three of the four are dealt with in the final film.) The jump scare was cut out because they thought the audience would think the scene ran too long. *Nefertiri?* The name was changed to avoid giggles.

I've still seen far worse animation and speaking of corridor crew. They also reviewed a movie that was about birds attacking people. That was by far much worse CGI than this. It's at least believable in this.

I love the first 2 of these movies 🤗 they’re on my comfort movie list! I miss seeing Brendan Fraser in movies I can’t wait for him to come back , and I loved Rick & Evy’s relationship in both movies ! Can’t stand the 3rd or the Tom cruise version but the first two are amazing! I remember how excited I was for this one to come out after falling in love with the first!

I can still remember the feeling of being so excited to see this movie when it was coming out.

Kid standing in the background was the best.

it's a blimp, not a dirigible. No superstructure. It wasn't just the Hindenberg that ended airship travel... the Shenandoah disaster pretty much ended it in the US. Other than superstructure, a major difference between a blimp and a dirigible is that a blimp uses neutral helium, while a dirigible uses very reactive hydrogen.

The thumbnail with the Rock’s CGI face behind Mrs movies is gold.

I honestly think 2017's The Mimmy could've been better if Tom Cruise was out of the picture.

This one is special to me as I saw it in cinema and was also the first film I owned on DVD it was gifted to me for Christmas 2001

Fun fact: the opening shot of the ancient city was *not* all CGI. It was a physical model mixed with CGI elements. Also... The old cult leader was played by Alun Armstrong, who is best know by fans of "Next Tricks" as Brian Lane. He played the king of Thieves in the movie *KRULL.* Another great movie you should be watching.

The first is more like an action Horror adventure movie this sequel is more like a big blockbuster it takes the more mainstream elements of the first and expands on them into an Indiana Jones type movie. This sequel is fine but lacks the horror of the first the spin-off Scorpion King movie is also fine.

My favorite part was when you got "photobombed" by the munchkin. Father of 4, grandfather of 5 (so far), been there, done that. 😆

Your sweet baby pulled a “hidden ghost” from haunting of hill house move. Scared the crap out of me 😂

That was a horrible death he endured.

"You must sacrifice yourselves for me! You will be rewarded in heaven!!!" I still quote that line from this movie. I laughed so hard at it when I first saw it. This is 90s cheese, in all its glory. I prefer the 1st one, but I still enjoy this movie. Fun watch, which is what I want my movies to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie when I saw it in theaters. However the CGI Scorpion Rock has always been bad even when this movie was new.

I liked the first one because it had less CGI and was somewhat less hokey. But I liked the romantic parts of the second one. For an adventure movie with some comedy both movies are ok. They’re entertaining.

If I remember right, Dwayne had a prior contract commitment that was scheduled at the same time they were to film the ending fight scene and they were on a deadline so they opted for a CGI Rock-Scorpion monster.

NGL, when I first saw their little girl standing in the background, it scared the shit out me. Thought she was a ghost or a possessed doll. Lol! What a cutie though.

@@boboboy8189 That's exactly why they complained about the cheap action sequences, because it bared no comparisons to the classic universal monsters film. In my opinion just like the Wolfman 2010, they shouldn't try to reboot the classic Universal Monster films because they were so sacred and good. Remaking them for modern Hollywood even with the woke crap they have now will ruin their own classic Cinematic Universe, I loved the Mummy 1933, and I did like the 2000s one to a lesser extent but rebooting the classics I grew up watching thanks to my Uncle will just be bad because movies nowadays unless it's Halloween calls for more action oriented sequences to entice teenagers of the younger demographic and it ruins the classics
