The Multiplayer Games We Can't Put Down

I don't talk an awful lot about Multiplayer games on this channel - something a viewer pointed out, and I wanted to dive in and give some insight both into why that is, and into some of my favorite multiplayer games.

NBA Jam TE, Simpsons Arcade, the Kirby Superstar games, Mortal Kombat, Sonic 3. NFL BLITZ 64 and arcades, Goldeneye 64, Extreme G, Mario Kart 64. Franchises like Bloody Roar, Power Stone, Time Crisis, Cruisin' USA. Def Jam fighters, NBA/NFL Street, NFL 2K5, Rockstar's The Warriors.
I love TowerFall with the homies. It always gets heated. Timesplitters back in the day. Castle Crashers when my now teenage boys were little brings back good memories. They loved collecting the weapons and animals.
When I think back to all the mutliplayer games that we used to play time and time again, my mind goes back to Battletoads Double Dragon on the NES, Goldeneye on the N64, and pretty much every iteration of Mario Kart but definitely 8 DX. I'm also a big Monster Hunter fan, and we've been playing pretty consistently since 4U, I even temporarily ran the Brisbane Monster Hunter Guild. Multiplayer games, especially in person is just an amazing gaming experience.
10:14 this song is craaaaazy! "Overwatch-before-it-sucked" Overwatch around its Christmas event 2017 was my favorite multiplayer game of adulthood. It felt like that IP could become the Pixar of gaming. It's a gaming tragedy how much they've ruined a game that got less and less great until it no longer felt like Overwatch

feel this one, overwatch fell so fucking hard.
Great video man. Some of my favorite Multiplayer games are Goldeneye on the N64, Mario Kart (any of them), Call Of Duty Black Ops, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Stardew Valley, Disney Infinity (with my kids), Lego Games, Worms Revolution and Jack Box games. I am sure there are more, but those are the ones I can name off the top of my head.
Great video and some pretty awesome games you named there. Here's my top 5 list of multiplayer games. 5. Contra 3 Alien Wars 4. Mario Kart 64 3. WCW\NWO Revenge 2. Mario Party 5 1. Goldeneye 007
You can never go wrong with lego games. My family plays the occasional mario kart 8 but lately its all been mario party all stars. Just classic game that is guaranteed to have at least one of my daughters in tears by the time its done.
So many great games in this lot. Obviously we love Mercenary Kings and we have to thank you for turning us on to that. Probably one of our most favorite couch co-op games ever. I guess if we're going to mention old school I would say River City Ransom is a must. We have yet to still play all the way through it but it inspires my next suggestion which is River City Girls and River City girls 2. The fact that you can play the second one four player makes it that much better! HuntDown is phenomenal and that is also a must play. I could go on and on about multiplayer. It's something we do a lot in the game room. Okay one last one from the Xbox and that's D&D heroes. Again, another phenomenal four player couch co-op. Great video Jay!
There aren't many games that I was able to play multiplayer. I did the two X-Men Legends games and the two D&D Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games with my brother. As a kid I would hit the arcades and play the beat em ups like TMNT, Captain America, X-Men, and Simpsons. Haven't really done anything recently. I should probably get a regular Switch at some point so I can do my games with my bro.
Mercenary Kings, wow! I discovered this on the Playstation Vita and I love it. Great Metal Slug vibes and a banger of a soundtrack make this one I've dumped hours upon hours into. And you're right, not many people seem to know about it, which is a shame!
Multi-player games are at the core of my gaming experience and i love single player games no doubts but feel i always have more fun when playing with a friend
When I was a kid, games like Ice Hockey on NES as well as Nintendo World Cup and Super Spike V'Ball were great. Mario Kart 64 is classic. Like you though, my favorites now are the ones I can enjoy with my kids. I agree on the Lego games. I had a blast beating Ninjago with my son, and the marvel ones are a blast too. Never got into Skylanders, but we have had enjoyment with Disney Infinity.
Wcw revenge, GoldenEye and Mario kart 64 ... A lot of good souvenirs with friends 😊
So many great multiplayer co-op games
Such a solid list!
It sounds like you live in Ohio! Hey same ❤ Love your videos man, new sub! That’s cool that your wife likes playing games. My wife looks down on me for gaming, the only time she doesn’t is if I’m Playing smb1 on nes lol she loves that one

Michigan, actually - but I'm not a native, so I quite like Ohio. ;) I'm very lucky with the Mrs - she's an absolute catch and I'm beyond lucky.

Physical forever, my friend. Couch multiplayer still works like a charm. And there's always arcades to play on the cabinet which is still very much supported, last I'd heard.
