Weapons for a war that had passed them by, stranded at the ass-end of nowhere....yet prepared to throw it all away on a suicidal attack on their enemy.

@@IJustKant I'd say rather soldierly commitment and patriotism. Zeon is kind of a funhouse mirror of the best and worst of the old Imperial Japanese military. The kind of commitment that made those men sell their lives dearly from one blasted island to another with no hope of retreat and total belief in their cause really isn't that different than, say, the Americans who stayed with Washington through the bitter winter of Valley Forge. The main dif is that Washington would have never countenanced the kinds of massacres and insubordination the IJA freely indulged in, and his cause ultimately won.

They *are* genocidal fascists; they are supposed to be fanatical. The fact that so many people firmly embrace nationalism is a very sad aspect to the faction in my opinion. Zeon as a whole, *isn't* heroic and neither are the feddies. That being said, both sides have heroes, and the whole thing is very morally grey. The main reason it's easy to view Zeon in a sympathetic light, is that unlike most fascist movements IRL, the oppression they experienced was very real, and not just a shallow excuse to dehumanize a group of people in order to call them enemies, based on race or some other such construct.

「キンバライト鉱山跡基地使用」もしくは「キンバライトザク」なんて言われたりする機体で、コメ主の通り使えるパーツの寄せ集め機体です。個人的に1番好きなザクですね。

Dom fights and their movement in general are so cool. Just sliding around on thrusters while firing rockets is probably why so many nameless Dom pilots get to shine despite being fodder.

I freaking love the combat style and animation of 0083. Especially the scenes on Earth. A lot of Gundam series tend to find ways to make Gundams fight in the sky and I think that's largely because it is easier to animate. But this is one series that actually would show ground combat machines regularly running and jumping. Then there's the fact that in modern anime, this kind of thing would all be done with CG. But in 0083 the animation is so good and we just don't often get this kind of hand drawn action anymore. I know it's more money and takes more skill, but boy does it look amazing!

animators then was so dedicated and put so much effort on animation unlike animators today who are lazy and only relay on cgi. gundam build series may be handrawn but the stories and character development was meh.

@@suprisebuttsecksspy5958 I wouldn't say modern animators are lazy as a general thing. I have seen gorgeous modern animation too. Buy styles have changed and easy-to-use most affordable options drive the industry. Gundam Unicorn, Hellsing Ultimate, That time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, and Re:Zero are all examples of modern animation that is utterly gorgeous. But then you get crap like that Spider anime and almost any idol anime where 70% of the show looks more like a video game cutscene than an anime.

The next thing to hope for then is that CGI animation catches up to this quality. But I don't know if we really want that. It would be good for us viewers of course, but the animators who love the classic techniques may have a different opinion.

@@kalp2113 Honestly, the AEUG was very lucky the Titans opted to use their GM Quels and such on other fronts. Those'd have surely given the Nemos an actually hard time, as opposed to the Hizack that couldn't even slow them down. :p

この表現も、もっとロボット的なものが、世に溢れてくると、スムーズな動作の方が好まれるようになるんでしょうね。 今は、まだ二足歩行ロボット的なものが現実世界には無いので、イメージとしてのっしのっしの方が人のイメージには合うんでしょう。

このシーンの中で、上昇回避を具申されても「ベイトとアデルを見捨てるわけにはいかない」って、そのまま進むシナプス艦長もかっこいい かっこいいオッサン同士の熱い戦いの回よね

I'm not one of those people who believes that all older anime just look better. But there's definitely something about them. It's the color palette or texture of the animation. Something I'm to animation illiterate to identify that really makes it stand out

My guess is you're referring to the cel sheets they've used to animate as well as real physicals paintings, for me I liked how War Of The Pocket was animated because of their narrower linework on the Hygoggs. In saying that I'm probably being bias for not just old anime but the old suits as well.

Stardust memories is one of my all time favorite Gundam series.

When he landed on the Albion, he should have fired its weapon from there, no one would have been able to shoot him. Instead he jumps, getting himself killed.

I'm willing to bet where he landed was more armored than the open bridge window. His rifle was 120mm, not a bazooka and not armor piercing. So he went for the bridge instead.

I'm also gonna bet on the armor being too thick. The Albion even tanks well in Blood of Zeon game against Zeta era mobile suits. Unless there's an ace pilot in an ace mobile suit, which the Albion can also survive if it had a good captain.

@@SoulstrikerV that doesn't even make sense as a lot of the Zeta era mobile suits were more powerful than CCA and Unicorn MS (ie: Rick Dias was much more powerful and had MUCH better armor than a Geara Doga/Zulu or Jegan or Jesta).

I love the detail of the zaku with mis-matched legs. it lets you know that they put together parts from zakus that were taken out. I wish they had taken it a step further and added some random gun shots and dents on them to show that they all had battle scars. thats one thing that 8th ms team did wonderfully.

かっこよかったなぁ、この部隊、ドムにもっと活躍してほしかった…

ビッター専用ザクやパワード・ジムといいSFSに乗っている訳でも、機体そのものが飛行しているのとも違うシンプルにバックパックのジェット推進力で"ジャンプ"して空間戦をするスタイルがかつてアムロが乗るガンダムとガルマのドップ部隊が戦った場面を思い起こさせて好きです。 （＾ν＾）

Well, it was never aired on tv in Japan when it first released. These type of anime tend to be rented out of video stores because they're released on video only. Guess why Unicorn took 4 years to complete all 7 episodes. OVA release gaps are varied from an episode per several weeks to few years. Worth the wait for hardcore fans.

ザクⅡ F2型　ノイエン・ビッター少将専用機 ザクⅡの後期生産型。ザクⅡとⅡ改の中間機と言ってもいい機体である。 機体性能はまさにザク。ザクの長所である操作性の高さに磨きがかかり、パイロットの腕が素直に出る機体となった。また陸戦でもJ型への換装無しで十分対応できるなど、細かなアップデートも多い。 ノイエン・ビッター少将機は全身をグリーンで塗装しており、隊長機らしくツノ付きであるが、特に目立ったカスタムなどはなされていない。 劇中ではHLV打ち上げまでの殿を担当。歴戦の猛者らしく機体性能で上回るアルビオン隊相手に互角以上の戦闘を繰り広げ、アルビオンをあと一歩で撃沈するところまで肉薄したものの、GP01の狙撃に阻止され撃墜。しかしHLV打ち上げには成功し、墓標となった機体は想いを託すように宙に手を伸ばしていた。

デラーズフリートってジオン残党の中でもきってのクズ組織だけどビッターは素直に凄いと思う。 ガトーから作戦内容教えられてないのによく打ち上げに協力したよな。 でも核搭載ガンダムなんか盗むくらいだからろくでもないことしようとしてんなぐらいは薄々思ってたかもしれないけど。

此の地帯なら茶色の方が視認下がりそうだけど緑の方がザクって気がして指揮官機なら緑の方が士気はあがるよね まあ塗装する手間や費用考えたらってのもあるかもだけど

HGUC when? The F2 already has one in both Zeon & EF colours but none of the three from the desert squad have one. A couple have MGs but it's not the same.

戦時中、重要拠点として放棄された最前線ラバウルに残った日本軍が、破損して残っていたジャンクの攻撃機をかき集めて、使える部品を組み合わせ飛ばして抵抗してたっていう話を思い出した。 忘れられていた戦場はそういう話になりやすいのか、或いはこれを作ったスタッフはそれを知っていたのか。。。悲しい物語やね(´･ω･`)．．．

The thing I despise about the modern day "gundams" is they fall back onto the usual child soldier is superior bullshit. I loved the old ones like 0083 or MS team and the like as you saw that war is hell and it was nothing to be proud of.

If you watch some other scenes with the Dom it has to spin like that if it wants to come to a full stop, the Dom maneuvers on hover jets after all so it really has trouble when it needs to make a sudden change in direction or stop due to it’s own inertia and the lack of friction with the ground the air cushion it’s hover jets create underneath it. In short it is probably a very difficult MS for a new pilot to get used too.

The backpack has one extra booster on each side too

@@KCDS The others have it too, including one in this clip: 0:57 Being a commander type, maybe it have a slightly better performance, idk. But visually is just a commander type with a green cockpit!

this is is remnant so it probably has a lot of junk and fed parts replacing damage .... outside that they are the same probably
