I love your content. I just purchased the qst 92s and look pivots. Coming from snowboarding I'm excited to get on skiis again. I am interested in maybe you can make a video about proper technique and posture. Also your thoughts on where the industry is going such as what are your thoughts on Boa boots? What are your favorite places to skii? Keep up the great content. I enjoy all your videos.

All great questions! The best skiing in the US I've seen is Snowbird on a cold windy day (when it's not crowded and the powder's fluffy). Here's a link to a video where I explain a few skiing fundamentals that I think is really helpful for clarifying carving : kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4Om2qqPetKxfKQ.html I snowboarded for 3+ years, and I think it teaches alot of great skills! (looking ahead, changing shape of board, etc.) Thoughts on the industry would probably take a whole video to explain! Never heard of Boa Boots, but I will have to look into it. Congrats on your QST 92's! Those are awesome skis, I love that line of skis, and I think they're really innovative! I just bought a pair of Qst 106s myself for next year on powder days and can't wait to use them. Thanks for the kind words, and thanks so much for watching!

You got me worried after dumping on Elan skis. A the end of the season I got a pair of Elan Ripstick 96 skis. I hope they are not trash and won't know until I get to try them next season. I'm 76 and trying to keep something of years past going.

Oh don't let me scare you! I haven't tested an Elan Ski since 2017 and alot can change in 6 years! I will get on a pair this winter so I can have better insight. I used to test their race skis at Mt. Hood and I never liked them so they've been a default in my head to make fun of, but it's probably a bit unfair and I hear good things about those ripsticks. I hope you like your skis, and worst case scenario you bring them to the ski swap and find something else! Any day back on snow is a good day!

Elan is making some great skis don't sweat it. I've skied the ripstick 96 and own the 106 as a soft snow/ slack country ski for 4 seasons They're great. Surprisingly damp for their light weight. I want to try their wingman series. My wife added a pair of ripstick 88 to her quiver last season as a compliment to her secret 92. The ripstick 88 is much friendlier in the bumps than the secret.

Ripsticks have been extremely successful for a reason, and everyone I’ve met who skis them loves them. Skis have unique styles and not all suit every skier but Elan is a great independent ski company that hasn’t been bought out and they put a lot of pride into their skis.

I own a pair and i think they were pretty good first wide ski and do many things well. But got Soleitind 109s right after and i prefered them here in Norway this season. Great videos!

I am not experienced in different ski in this category. I went from kore93 to Rustlers then proper SGN freeride ski. For me it was the quick turning and easy tail release that was good in the trees, hold on firm, icy snow too. Safe as a tank. Very allround and would recommend getting these for first wide or a one quiver ski. However. It might just be me and level of inexperience, but I think because of the allround capabilities they don`t do anything really well. I sold mine after 15days and now have one pair for piste and one pair for powder. @@RicketySkiReviews

Hahahahaha this is awesome! Daryl, the girl from the other curated video reviews the 2023 blizzards that's a much better review of these skies. I do own these skies they are pretty decent skies. I live by Mt baker in Washington, and they almost never groom anything there, so these work well there. But I almost always prefer my atomic mavericks when I head up to whistler or one of the other local mountains.

I was watching videos about the new 2024 Rustler 9. I’m mostly east coast, intermediate advanced, need more lessons to improve further and get comfortable with carving. Looking for my first pair and daily driver. I was getting advice using curated and Reddit but after watching your videos I don’t know what to think. I’m pretty sure shorter and not too wide is what I need to go with. But as a inexperienced skier I have a hard time filtering all the bullshit. I’m afraid I’m getting tricked.

I have a full video on what size to get here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaWK3Nd9Y6Wumdo.htmlsi=DFpuQecBOzjbiKbw I haven't tested that ski yet so it's hard to give you insight on it, I would also recommend looking into the Fischer Ranger 90 based on what you said, or the Salomon Qst 92. I grew up on the east coast and I would just say you've got a good width, and just take care to keep your skis sharp/ tuned if and when it gets Icey. My brother skis in the East with the Ranger 90's and loves them. They also have low pressure turn initiation which I feel like is friendly for people progressing with their skiing. If you're set on Blizzard I will say that the Brahma Might also really fit into what you're looking for. Hope this helped, cheers.

Hey man - I actually love commenting on your videos. This isn't your best take though, this guy isn't a great skier but he was actually right here. This curated stuff is normally pretty dumb, but I own a pair of these and he was totally spot on. Obviously, the Rustlers can't do everything, but is is true that this ski balances a lot of different things like the review says. It has enough edge grip to feel somewhat comfortable hip dragging on groomers, it's maneuverable through bumps, and feels good in the park. It's not the best carving ski on earth, or the lightest and most maneuverable, but it does better than I expected in a lot of spots. You criticized him saying that this ski is good for a wide range of people. Generally, I would agree with you about recommending skis to a wide range of people, but this ski has an interesting combination of qualities that make it unique. It has a few characteristics that some more relaxed skis have, like a bunch of rocker and soft tips, but also characteristics of better carving/stronger skis, like very little taper and and full width metal underfoot, as well as a fair weight. All this combine with a somewhat forward mount point (-7cm) to create a big sweet spot, meaning it ends up very forgiving and skiable from a variety of different stances, despite having a relatively high performance threshold. His review didn't go this in depth about what adds up to create this feel, but I think it generally got the right idea, and any shortcomings of the ski were adequately touched upon in the review. I love these videos, but if you're gonna shit on this dude for 20 minutes, which I am 100% all for, a quick google search about the ski is a good idea. I hope this didn't sound rude, just my thoughts on the ski. (just for context about myself, I'm on the east coast and spend a lot of time racing)

Great comment, thanks for the insight! This is why I don't typically react to skis I haven't actually skied on. This was a viewer request, but I think I'll probably stick to skis I've skied on. I do think it's cool that the ski has a wide range, but most of what I was riffing on is my experience from working in shops and having people pick one ski to recommend. I don't typically Google search about skis unless it's for specs or details, because I've generally found the information unreliable (which is why I started the channel). I really liked your insight and comment, and it makes me really eager to test these skis myself. I think going forward I will stick to skis I've personally put on snow myself. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
