Another cool aspect of Sonic Rush Adventure's OST is how the main hub's theme will evolve as you add more to it, making Windmill Village feel livelier as you progress through the game, going from laid-back beach to jungle adventure. Rush Adventure is one of the most slept-on Sonic games, so I'm always happy to see it get mentioned!

Here's another sonic game with an extremely underrated soundtrack: sonic boom fire and ice. I think Richard Jacques cooked with that one too, even if a ton of tracks are more subdued than usual there's quite a few bangers and the cinematic flair of the 3d blast saturn ost that was mentioned here is present in full force. Give it a listen

I am so happy someone is finally showing Rush Adventure some love, it's my 2nd favorite OST in the series and my 2nd favorite of the 2D Sonic games(right behind 3 & Knuckles). A little disappointed that Haunted Ship and Deep Core(my two favorite songs in the game) got overlooked when talking about it though.

Sonic Runners is peak.

I’m not sure how underrated it actually is, but I REALLY dig the Sonic CD US soundtrack. It’s so atmospheric almost like a movie. I feel it gets overshadowed by the JP/EU ost outside of Sonic Boom.

Things I agree with: Sonic Runners has an amazing OST (and it's also an amazing game btw) Sonic 3D Blast Saturn has an amazing OST that sadly many people dislike or overlook because they prefer the Genesis version (and I think the game is fun too) Sonic Rush Adventure OST is chill, tropical and cool (and again, the game is very good) Knuckles' Chaotix OST is heavenly, and it is a very fun and cozy game, with things an amazing atmosphere, art direction, story and characters Shadow the Hedgehog OST has a lot of fire songs even if it has over 100 tracks, which makes some not be as high as the others (and I ALSO like this game, like the others) Sonic Superstars OST is really good and all of Jun Senoue's tracks at least have an amazing composition, even if the Genesis soundchip wasn't used at it's best, and even excluding Jun Senoue's tracks, the ones that don't use the SEGA Genesis chip still is the majority. Although Sky Temple and Cyber Station weren't arranged by Jun Senoue, they were composed by Senoue but rearranged by Rintaro Soma and TORIEMA respectively, just like how Bridge Island Act 1 was also composed by Senoue and rearranged by Tee Lopes, and those 3 songs shows how his tracks are good depending on the instrumentation, I totally agree with the takes, Sky Temple is one of my favorite songs along with Bridge Island Act 1 and Sand Sanctuary, and 2 of this songs are originally made by Jun Senoue and I'm not the biggest fan of the early versions, but the rearranged versions made by Rintaro Soma and Tee Lopes are REALLY good, and the same goes for Cyber Station (and I also think this game is very fun) Things I don't agree with: "Sonic Lost World OST can be generic at times", nuh uh, not with so many bangers such as Sky Road 2, Honeycomb Highway, Silent Forest 1, Tropical Coast 1, Juice Archipelago, Sea Bottom Segue, Frozen Factory 1, Snoball Waltz, etc. And also, just like Shadow the Hedgehog this game has over 100 tracks, so it's fine (also, I think Lost World is also a really fun and good game too) "Saturn 3D Blast OST > Genesis 3D Blast OST", while I think both are GOATed, and I love both, the Genesis version has one of my favorite tracks, Diamond Dust, and the so beloved by many, Volcano Valley, although I love You're my Hero, and I think TJ Davis is an amazing singer in Sonic R, 3D Blast and Metropolis Speed Racer While I do agree that I would hear Machine Labyrinth over Mad Gear, I genuinely think Sonic 4's OST is not that bad and can even be good at times (for me at least I like a good chunk of the OST), and even for the people who hate the usage of the SEGA Genesis soundchip, I think it's a simillar case to Superstars where the compositions at least are all really good and just rearranging the songs with other instruments show that (no, I don't think Sonic 4 is good like all the others, at least Episode I, Episode I is lame and boring and has no soul, but I like Episode II a lot and I think it's a fun game) "Knuckles' Chaotix is better than CD", while I do think Chaotix is a very fun game and I love it CD is my second favorite classic One Way Dream slander smh But in general, that was a really good video, good job with it y'all

I like how Supercon mentioned how Sonic Speed Simulator used a lot of Sonic 3D Blast tracks, they really fit the game well. But eh the Runners part came, SF never mentioned it. Sonic Speed Simulator's favorite OSTs isn't just 3D Blast Saturn, it also uses a lot of Runners tracks. They may not be as prominent now, but they recently added a juke box, so every track used from runners is playable in game. I suggest you check it out (you have to unlock them though via exploration)

The most underrated ost's in the sonic franchise is definitely the virtual sonic ost's especially spinball theme i would dance to that then rather dancing to despacito in a school dance lmao

Besides superstars Icagree with the rest of these. I like some tracks from the remaining 4. One sobic composer that I'll say who is underrated is mariko nanba. She did music for chaotic, heroes, shadow 05, sonic 06, unleashed and colors AND rush adventure. Yet in all these sobic music appreciation videos nobidy ever brings her up except in passing. She brought a party/dance vibe to sonic music. Its hard trying to remember all the tracks she's made for sonic but i kbow she did white acropolis, most of the village island hub music in SRA, and the starlight carnival world map music. I highly reccommend giving her music a listen

Insane work as always! 😎 As much as Sonic Forces is bad, I do have a soft spot for some of the music in that game. Infinite's them does kind of go hard and whilst the main version of Fist Bump's lyrics are somewhat comical, I do somewhat enjoy listening to the instrumental versions. Same with Sonic 06, as much as that game is a real stinker, it has one of the best supporting OSTs in the entire series.

14:51 As an Angry Birds fan, I approve! 18:00 Senoue did not compose or arrange Egg Fortress Acts 1 & 2. That was the work of TORIENA; both acts match her style. I would like to add another soundtrack to this list, and that is… Sonic CD (both the JP/EU and NA/US, more so the latter). I’ve been listening to it quite a bit, and I think it’s not as appreciated as other Sonic OSTs. For example, the most famous track from the game, Stardust Speedway Bad Future, is pretty good, but I went ahead and listened to the Good Future, and I think it’s amazing. The NA/US version of it is okay, but the JP/EU is peak, and I beg you to go LISTEN TO IT NOW!!! I’d encourage you to give both versions of the soundtrack a chance. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

I definitely agree with Shadow the Hedgehog and Knuckles' Chaotix, and to a slightly lesser extent, Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn). (The others, I'm just not that familiar with.) I would add Sonic CD (US), Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis), and maybe Sonic Mega Collection (that game didn't have much original music, but it's all SO GOOD!) I might even add Sonic and the Black Knight

Sonic superstars has a good soundtrack I like them too and Egg fortress is incredible and people say that it loops to fast also love death egg in sonic 3 even tho that loops like every 20 seconds lol THE CRUSH 40 VERSION IS SO MUCH WORSE OF ALL HAIL SHADOW AHHHH

Sonic 4 Episode 2 is incredibly underrated. After the blandly written, horribly orchestrated first OST, Jun Senoue delivered an OST that genuinely does sound like a higher fidelity Genesis soundtrack that fits in comfortably alongside the original trilogy (although Oil Desert's instrumentation hurts my ears a little). As it stands, I think he's a top notch composer, his choice of instruments and Genesis style production is what's lacking in games like Superstar.

I actually like the Sonic Rush soundtrack more than Sonic Rush Adventure’s but I like Sonic Rush Adventure’s gameplay more because the levels are more consistently good. I do like Sonic Rush Adventure’s soundtrack a lot though, but nothing beats Sonic Rush’s soundtrack for me. ALSO I also prefer the Saturn soundtrack for Sonic 3D Blast, FINALLY someone else agrees with me! (Genesis one is also great though)
