The Most Stressful Job on the Water! Tug Captain's Maneuver Million Dollar Yachts ( Fort Lauderdale)

Спорт

Cape Ann Towing has been serving Fort Lauderdale since 1978. Captain Courtney L Day purchased the company in 2003 and has been operating it ever since.
Today we film with a young tug captain named Ozzie from the tail tug down the New River in Fort Lauderdale. John was on the pull tug steering and leading the yacht down the New River before she's set free.

My brother and I lived aboard, crossed oceans on Proust Cats and raised families for 30+ years. We did some home schooling and we spent some school years in paradise. Our kids went to school in Saint Maarten, the Bahamas, France, Spain, Panama and Greece. The outcome, 2 Doctors and a Experimental Physics PhD.(I always worried he had a small black hole bouncing around in the bilge) Life is short, experience is priceless. People like you give me a glimmer of hope. BTW My son, the Surgeon, died last August, complications from Cancer. Life offers no guarantees, extract every ounce of happiness from every breath you take. The pride we felt when the kids stood their first midnight watch alone, watching them make friends with kids from totally different backgrounds and colors, learning to prosper wherever they might end up is the greatest joy of our life.

This is fascinating to learn how these tugboat drivers perform their job and how necessary they really are. For someone way out here in Arizona we never really think about these tugboats or how important they are. This has been Soo much fun and informative to watch. Thanks Alfred for taking us along with you!!! Much love, take care!!! 👍😊❤️❤️❤️

I have never felt so poor as I do seeing all of these huge boats! It's really hard to fathom that so many people have this kind of crazy money to afford these yachts and waterfront homes, but yet there are so many souls who are homeless and living below poverty in this country! I just hope and pray that these extremely wealthy, lucky human beings are as generous with their donations and charities. Thank you for the video, it's awfully humbling!

Fun fact, 90% of these yachts you see in this video are owned by corporations, not individuals. Many are foreign corporations from places like Germany, England, the Middle East, etc... For the most part they are here as charter operations for individuals than can afford to drop a couple hundred thousand for a one week trip to the Caribbean, but can't afford to buy and operate the boat full time. So you probably are not as poor as you think, lol.

I found your videos on KZread by searching "boats", and the boat launch videos popped up. They are great fun but this trip through Miami to Ft. Lauderdale is fascinating. My husband was captain on U S tuna purse seiners for many years (out of American Samoa}. He also worked as captain on research vessels and tugs in California. During those years I developed a great interest in boats...all kinds of boats. Now, I'm in my 80's and due to health issues, I'm pretty much confined to home. Finding things to keep busy and content is not always easy. Your channel has opened up a whole new area of fun for me. Without even stepping outdoors, I can enjoy the water and the boats in your videos. This trip on the tugs through Miami to Ft. Lauderdale was like a trip of a lifetime to me. I enjoyed every minute of it. You and your tug captains covered just about everything on the trip on the river taking the Pipe Dream to a new location. Your videos took me to a place I'd never been...Florida. It is amazing. The conversations were so interesting, and the surroundings of the river are extraordinary. So thank you for opening up a new "hobby" for me...watching the craziness of your Chit Show and your "special trips" on the river. Well done! This video is the best I've seen so far. Thanks again and shout out a big hi to Fred for me. He's one monster crocodile...Take good care and keep up the good work. I've subscribed today! (Can't wait to see all your videos.) 😄
