Pairs of skins arent the same as a skin literally Frankensteining multiple different skin vfx into it. Albeit the pair skins like prestige, eclip, etc are pretty clearly a marketing gimmick- this was lazyness

To be fair I played yesterday against a team with karma and lux with those skin, you can’t see shit it’s legit worse than elemental Lux. I had to reverse color scheme to see the skill shots properly let alone differentiate them in the middle of a teamfight

Forget Lux... Janna and some other champs haven't received a visual update IN OVER A DECADE, while some champs (like Udyr) already had not one, not two but MULTIPLE visual updates and/or reworks...

Udyr was the same champion as the beginning of the game what are you talking about? The only champion that got multiple VGU and ASU was Ryze. Skarner got 3 ability reworks but 0 VGU's before his rework, Shyvana got one ability rework, and funny enough Janna got a VGU from her old model with 2 ability reworks. yea, they're definitely similar yet different assets, same with the Lux E and Seraphine W. Similar, but you can definitely tell that the Lux one has more details in it. Also the Lux Q vs Ezreal Q, they're definitely different. I can't contest the Lux ult though, that's literally just a recolored ability. Not defending Riot, but don't come for them with inaccurate claims.

As someone who has never given riot a single cent and never will, am I missing something? The Q, auto and W are all different from other skins. They just seem similar because of the theme/ color palette? I get its bad for visual clarity but it's not a case of reusing assets. The Ult and E might be similar once on the ground but Seraphine Q and Lux E have a completely different cast animations and particle effects as the spells land, they last for vastly different amounts of time as well, nobody is going to confuse the two.

Also her recall.. Riot used animation of stretching that is already in game, do they really have to save money like that?

And Irelia's legendary skin that only changes her position, and it's not even a new position, it's just the same position as her W skill.

It’s so great that a big burly character that has an easily identifiable outline and weapon cannot have a hat due to visual clarity, but it makes total sense for a bunch of characters with dozens of skins to have matching projectiles so you know you are playing against a certain skin line!

not to mention her q’s bonding effect is similar to ahri’s ult.

Lux gets a skin every patch, I think she'll be fine without one for a few weeks lmao.

I feel like this is a result of all those layoffs. When riot fired the people who did the TFT battle pass rewards, they no longer gave 9 booms per pass. Now you get 1 or 2 and have to buy the others for extra money, it’s terrible

They did the same with Lux and Xayah. They took Xayah's star guardian wings model and put it on Lux's soul fighter. Its exactly the same model, exactly the same animation, just different colours. 😂

I'd like to let you people know that High Noon Yone's running animation is recycled from Dawnbringer Yone. I'd also like to add that Riot has been so lazy that even recalls are getting boring themselves. Good example is Skarner and Smolder recalls

Visual clarity only matters if your champion is unpopular, or if it takes them more work. They can always use the Akali hair thing as an excuse to make easier skin models, and giving Yorick a hat affects more people since Yorick is less popular than say High Noon Lucian. It's stupid but that's just how it is.

they don't have to look similar, they are different champs and should have different vfx, yk not every coven skin has the same vfx (elise E and morg Q are the only exception)

It's honestly frustrating because the skin design itself is eye-catching and pretty nice. they could have done so much with that skin as far as unique animations go but instead they opt to copy and paste? talk abt a waste of potential.
