see these idiot comments that replied to you? that's exactly what I thought when I teased a taekwondo blackbelt. i had a purple belt in bjj at that time and a a brown belt in judo(5 years ago). taekwondo guy kicked me in the ribs and axed kicked my head. I was out cold for 10 minutes. we make fun at these tap tap martial arts bullshit but if they know what they're doing, they can do damage.

actually they are just marital arts "break boards. they slide together and are reusable. notice how they break in perfect rectangles. those are the yellowish color ones so they are easiest to break. the black ones are the hardest. a 5 year old can break the yellow ones. most kids can't break the black ones till they are about 8 years old. none of them are even close to as hard as breaking an actual solid piece of wood. they do have "wood" they use for that as well but it's cut the opposite way that wood is cut normally. so you have grains going across the whole wood. and its a really soft balsa wood too. in which my 7 year old chopped it right in half easily.

@@Bluejay-ri1yf Olympic shooting is now heavily regulated. it's .177 cal pcp air guns. because they have a standard deviation of 1. and its regulated to 700 feet per second. and the pellets are heavily regulated for shape size and weight. at 8.18 grain flat wadcutter head. to make everything uniform. a compition gun starts at $2500 but they go all the way up to $6000. which equates to 8.9 feet pounds of energy. 54 feet pounds is a lethal head shot. so yes the shooting in the Olympics is infact less lethal. there have been some freak accidents with pellet guns that have that type of energy. but it'd have to be an extremely lucky shot. for example a shot that goes in the small gap between the ribs near the heart. there's 3 such accidental pellet gun deaths just like that in the medical literature. 2 of them were kids under the age of 12. and 1 was an adult. but the adult was actually shot with a 22 caliber pellet gun that was traveling 1200 feet per second at 26 feet pounds. theres a lot of debate as to weather a 9-12 feet pound pellet gun could actually kill and adult. but there's 0 on record. I did a lot of compition shooting. thats how I know all that.

They are however, already broken and the two halves are designed to slot together. This means you have to strike the board accuractely to break it. Obviously the flashy and ridiculous kind of Tae Kwon Do that these guys use doesn't really work in a fight, but the more basic moves absolutely do and have proven themselves numerous times in MMA. Even some of the extra spinny kicks can work quite well in the right situation, because it can be used as a feint, your opponent thinks they're safe after the first spin, then gets nailed in the head with the second.
