Im so glad you put in a beginner version of the build because a lot of builds on YT dont bother doing that and its hard to really get a feel for what I should be prioritizing

I use a Vampire’s Gatling Laser, and I have the fusion core recharger. I never need ammo, and I never need stimpacks. My absolute favorite loadout. I’m not even level 100 and can solo events. Enemies can’t do damage fast enough to counteract the healing effects of the Vampire’s effect.

I use a Vampire Gatlin Plasma with Richocet, basically unkillable, as long as I'm firing at enemies. In power armor I'm a god.

VE Minigun with the shredder mod heals wayyy faster than that(if you want overkill healing) and Suppressors Miniguns with Rick blood tequila heal you ontop of lowering all enemy dmg by up to 52% before Armour or damage réduction gets applied it’s crazy (and you can use it without ammo so ammo isn’t a problem too)

your channel has made fallout so much more fun for me . I was a new player and your videos have made a huge difference for me playing the game.

For heavy weapons the plasma caster or Gatling gun is incredibly economical for the ammo amount you gain especially in daily ops or expeditions.

From my persona experience, not number crunching, all three weapons you mentioned have their use. The plasma caster is a great long-range VATS weapon that uses cheap ammo and does a lot of damage per shot. If there was a heavy sniper rifle, this would be it. The flamer/Holy Fire does massive damage to everything within ten feet of you. And the gatling plasma threads that needle, filling a cone with rapid-fire death that reaches out to medium range. There's a place for all three. Hell, I still call my flamer a melee weapon.

Perfect trifecta of heavies here. I don’t know if you know but tick blood tequila works with the bashing minigun turning non vampires weapons into vampire. (Suppresors bashing minigun is insane, since you lower all enemy dmg by 50% and heal really fast) I run that for day to day, Gatling plasma for max ranged dps and Holy fire/Flamer(if I can hit 😭) I don’t quite have the Cremator or a god roll plasma caster yet but when I do I’m gonna make those my ranged casual gameplay since ammo Econ is good

I've been using this thing for quite a while, right around when I hit lvl 50 someone had it at their base for 50 caps. I'm probably taking advantage of someone's mistakes. But since then I've adopted a friendly pricing stance at my own shop to pay it forward

My two favorite weapons hands down, my Bloodied Plasma Caster and Gatling Plasma. I also have a Bloodied Holy Fire as a backup...

Honestly it's fun to kill Scorchbeasts with this thing. Once you get a hang of leading your shots with it, you can down a flying SB from surprisingly far away.

What kind of weapon mods do you use? What makes it really pop?

try it in vats out of power armor, I have a bloddied -25% AP, the DPS shreds with criticals and the accuracy VATS provides // very infrequent reloads // the ammo is so efficient you can sustain it without needing to craft or farm

I hit scorchbeast queen for 800+ damage a shot on my bloody explosive gatlin gun. Everyone seems to never use vats in power armor but it's totally worth it. Regardless the fusion core drain. Solod earl and queen with well over 10 min+ and farming both bosses mobs as they spawn in. Love it

Got plasma gat thing is cracked forsure. Can solo queen, earl and titan. But losing intrest since the chase is only for modules and rerolling in this game is meh -_-

I lucked out and scored one of these at level 30. Glad I can replace it when I get to 50 now. The amount of time it takes to shoot is rough though.

Been using the junkie’s plasma gatling since I got it as a drop at lvl 60, lvl 107 now and its still going strong. The only problem I have with it is, if youre in really long fights, the plasma gatling WILL break. it fires so many rounds it basically disintegrates itself. I’m looking to get that one lucky perk that gives a chance to repair your gun on hit If my plasma gatling breaks, i have a 2 spare heavies i usually take with me. i have a foundations vengance explosive minigun that i use for sniping long range because holy fk that thing is stupidly accurate, and a two-shot ultracite gatling lazer just incase i wanna use up my remaining fusion cores to wipe out everything.

I use this weapon all the time and I love it

Would this work with the Gatling laser bc I feel the plasma has good damage but ammo is eaten up like is nothing

Is this build a good heavy PA build entirely? Like any good heavy weapons because I’ve always ran commando and I’m currently level 108 wanting to try another build

I love the GL but it’s such a pain getting cores if you’re not running a PA build.

On the beginners build would power user not be better as fusion cores will run out much faster due to not having mods on power armour it may b3 harder for new people to get fusion cores.

Gatling Plasma with 50c25… It all depends on your build. Plus it depends on what you use in terms of weapons. I’ve gone for a full plasma build which ap cost is incredibly expensive if only compared to a fixer, railway and handmade. Since I only use plasma it’s actually all balanced in vats cost terms. Gatling plasma with Ap cost less - 20 ap cost Enclave Auto Rifle - with Ap cost less - 24 ap cost Plasma Caster - With Ap cost less 23 ap cost. The major key is the speed of the weapon. Obviously you going to be in and out of vats due to how much that cost. So with a combination of unyielding and low health with high agility you can reach just over 500 in ap with that you’ll able to get over 20 shots in vats on the Gatling plasma which is more than enough if you are a full crit build. Since this build coming in and out of vats and working my timing out has actually made it more fun than walking around in vats all the time.

Only argument that could be made is canned coffees. Also stabilized being needed for better dps against bosses (aka gotta be in PA)

I think Holy Fire is king, due to the ability to benefit from sneak multipliers, no firing delay, etc. But once your target is more than a few steps away, the gatplas is a very good option.

This is LAW. Hell if you can hit the enemy with the flamer instead of the holy fire it would do more dmg too. I wanna look into how the gauss minigun does (if i recall it does ballistic dmg and works with endangerol giving it an edge over the Gatling plasma) their fire rates are the same Im hoping that 1 endangerol can make it beat the gp

I’ve gotten that weapon like three times first time I Decon it the 2nd time dropped at level 40 and I’m level 48 but it dropped again in some cave at level 50

I went into this cave had raider forgot which one it was both the plasma and the laser one drop inside that cave

Anti armor. Love it. Does a ton of damage when you build it right.

I have been in the Enclave bunker a few hundred times and I still cannot remember where the Modus Armory Terminal is.....I just keep running around like a headless chicken and end up at all the other trade terminals 😵‍💫

You know what people sleep on is the bow with all 3 archer cards maxed out and the sneak card maxed I got a bow that does fire damage not compound but bloodied and ghouls and humans I one shot all day especially with the sneak extra damage oh legendary card for sneak shots as well enemy's I don't finish with one shot burn finishes. Now of course bigger opponents takes more but I vats to a leg quickly stagger em and pick em off. Now in waves he'll no or scorch beasts death claws nah but your day to day traversing bow is amazing and more ammo than I can handle

I wouldn't disagree entirely. I think it'll be a while before the holy fire is dethroned as the top heavy weapon. Holy fire has no recoil, shoots instantly, and doesn't require complete accuracy. I love the gatling plasma though it would be 3rd in my book cause of the ammo and its range and its fun to run around with I have a 2 shot myself which is devastating. I need one that breaks slower though my gatling plasma goes after 1 core

Yeah, love my AA plasma gattling for the big jobs, but yeah the weapon durability is a big problem more so that the high AP cost. Can't go through a scorched earth event without it breaking once . IMHO it's the best heavy with insane DPS

Vampires/fire rate/break slower gatling plasma and I never die. Took forever to roll a break slower version so I wasnt repairing it all the time during a queen fight.

I have a TS, AA and a Bloodied. In my experience the TS has terrible accuracy unless your within melee range. AA is great for all build types and delivers good damage figures.

So….enclave finally joinable in 76 (prolonged the inevitable of me starting it till a few months ago) so I finally do my FRANK HORRIGAN MUTATED ROLEPLAY anti armor gat plasma with 50% limb damage and slow break and the two shot ultracite sniper caster🙂 and that sweet army issue PA. But really wish there was a dedicated enclave Tesla armor suit or a Gannon family set in the atomic shop🫡

The only reason I don't use this gun is ammo management. I hate having random 1/2 used cores in my inventory!

Just got a bloodied gatlin from alien event but I’m only lvl 66 so I can’t even make a real bloodied build without dying 25/7

FFR25v variants work extremely well for VATs builds both in and out of power armor. Very viable for non-PA hybrid commando-heavy gunner builds. AA without PA and Bloodied with PA to make full use of the AA perk in PA. May drain a lot of fusion cores but it's a great way to use up accumulated cores. Insane DPS potential, probably on par or better than railways but upkeep is extremely expensive if min-maxing.

@@Arteus73 try it out. i use qffr15r and a qex15r railway in tandem. 40 rounds kills DPS. ive tried running 2x qffr15r rails too and its slightly edges out the ffr/ex combo. GP's DPS can get real crazy if you can keep it fed.

How do manage to keep the weapon fed? cores dont drop as contextual ammo do they?

Science perk cards don't affect heavy weapons. Also scrapper is a must for most people, especially with a casual build and level 5 gunsmith in a necessity because of the Gatling Plasma breaking so fast.

Likely no anti armor. Anti armor is a really important roll especially for more tanky enemies

The ammo is my major issue with the gauss mini, I'm not really at a point that I struggle with ammo but this gun is more suited to bosses I find. I'm running the holy fire and plasma caster and haven't had to make ammo in months

Plasma cores are a burden. Mobs drop them now. They take up too much space and you cant put them in your ammo container so they very quickly become over encumbered fodder. This is comment bait and you know it and I'm realizing just now I fell for it. Well played.

I don’t understand the obsession with Gatling Plasmas, personally. The wind up is super bad. By the time I wind up my GP the mob would already be dead with a well rolled Holy Fire. At longer range the GP is outclassed by a .50 cal (no wind up, much more stable to aim down range) or a plasma caster. The GP is just kinda inferior in all circumstances in my experience. They do look really cool though.

Well, here's the reality when it comes to the .50 vs the GP, the 50 it's lv 45, the GP is lv 50, which does matter in the bigger scale of stats, i have both guns with Bloodied, attack speed, and the 50 does 130 damage per shot on a good day, my plasma does 250 to 300 (not counting critical hits) so the wind up time the GP gets which is like a second, can be nullify by the raw damage it has, my 50 has 204 meters (i think it's meters tbh), and the plasma has 228, i'm carrying 195 ultracite plasma cores for a total of 19 pounds, and i have 100k ultracite 50 cal ammo with me which goes around 60 pounds, so that's another point for my GP, when it comes to recoil and accuracy i use PA with stab perk, and imma be real with you, the recoil is not that bad and the accuracy is really good, but i also notice that the GP has better recoil when you hip fire which is weird to me but the 50 is the same, and doing scorched queen, my 50 hits for like 25 to 30 to her head, and my plasma from 65 to 80 (without using any drugs or debuffs on her), so yeah the GP it's superior in many aspects but the 50 is not useless by any means, and the Final work 50 cal it's also amazing.

I’m not a fan of heavy guns or power armor but I wish they will perform better. Like both aesthetics but in terms of raw power they just cannot compete with my bloodied comando god roll raiway rifle. It’s a shame that heavy guns aren’t more powerfull than a rifle. Sad

The thing is that 90% or more you are fighting regular mobs that you can destroy with a good rolling pin lol. My point is you don't always have to use your "God Roll". Variety is the spice of life in my opinion. Besides, this gun is still extremely powerful.

I disagree, ive spent a lot of time doing math for optimal boss killing builds(fighting Earle) between rifleman and heavies. Ive had the damage confirmed by dataminers and it looks like the Flamer is 1st Holy fire 2nd, Railway 3rd and Gatling Plasma 4th. EPF and Elders mark are tied at 5th. Only way the railway gets close to the holy fire/flamer is with auto reloads. I do need to get more gear to test this in game but I have a pretty good idea of what the time change would be and the rankings wouldn’t change

One more thing, rifles will go up in the rankings the more people you have with endangerol. I’m not sure what the rankings would be with 2,3 or even 4 more people but I’d be pretty confident saying the railway would be first in that scenario. Solo it is not(but then again I haven’t looked at the gauss minigun or other options so this anything beyond solo dmg is speculation)

Gatling plasma and other heavy guns are for the fallout first members only, unfournantly, cause if you are not, you need a place in strenght for weight reduction perks instead of heavy gunner`s one

Fusion cores cant go into the ammo box, your screwed either way 😭😭 I’d say the biggest problem for heavy builds is explosives since grenade weight and ammo weight are in 1 perk but split between WWR and AWR

I don’t use power, but I still quickly melt large groups of mobs or large ones. Works great against Earl and his little friends. Most of the time I use a 50 or fixer for weaker mobs.

I don't see people using these much anymore. The AP drain on these heavy guns is crippling. I can't guzzle enough coffee to make any heavy gun worth my time. B needs to dial the AP drain down to something manageable.

They are fine. 25v on these puts it in the sweet spot. i own AA/B/Exec/TS/VFFR25v GPs along with several 50c25v variants. 10-15 canned coffees seem to be the right amount to chug. DPS is insane. I've seen 650 damage per crit and im not using any heavy gunner perks.

I have a bffr gatling plasma and it cannot kill a wendigo spawn from earle fast like my aa/ffr flamer vaporizer or my bffr holy fire

Flamer is the king in damage especially solo, Holy fire is second and Gatling plasma is 3rd(for heavies it’s 4th just behind the railway)

I have to disagree. A bloodied or anti-armor FFR Holy Fire will probably net you 2x the DPS of the Gatling Plasma, honestly I have not seen a non-VATS heavy weapon which comes close to that. The Plasma is pretty underwhelming against small and faster moving targets as well.

Your kinda right, it’s not two times but it is a good bit stronger. The flamer is king but the holy fire is better cause you can hit your target not dmg wise and Gatling plasma trails behind it a little bit with the benefit for ranged dmg. I believe the gauss minigun could be a contender for the best dmg too

If you repair it to 200% and use Gunsmith level 5 it don't break that often. I can take out a queen without repairing it. Lasts even longer paired with another heavy :)

Remember people, your builds do not need to melt end game bosses in 5 seconds. That’s is not good game design. Fights should be challenging

Maybe I misunderstood, you said rerolling the holy fire? How is that different than rolling a regular flamer? I rerolled elders mark and I may as well threw 8k away

The Holy Fire has a hidden damage boost as it's a "cursed" weapon. So a regular flamer would be inferior. Also I feel the elders mark is a bit underwhelming unless you have a perfect roll.
