The most popular line on the London Underground
Ever wondered which London Underground line is the crowd favorite? 🏆 My London website conducted a survey to rank the Tube lines based on your votes, and the results are in! Let’s dive in:
🚇 Number 11: Waterloo and City
The shortest line on the Tube got the least votes.
🚇 Number 10: Hammersmith and City
Fun fact: This line has no unique stations - all 29 are shared with another Tube line.
🚇 Number 9: Circle
🚇 Number 8: Bakerloo
The oldest trains on the network, dating back to 1972. 🚂
🚇 Number 7: Central
The longest line and the first to have electric lighting in its stations. 💡
🚇 Number 6: Piccadilly
The only Tube line (excluding the Elizabeth line) that goes to Heathrow. ✈️
🚇 Number 5: Metropolitan
The fastest line and the first urban underground railway in the world. 🌍
🚇 Number 4: District
Boasting the most stations - 60 in total! 🏙️
🚇 Number 3: Northern
Home to the deepest platform (Hampstead) and the longest escalator (Angel). ⬇️⬆️
🚇 Number 2: Victoria
The most frequent service on the Tube, the UK, and the second most frequent train service in the world. 🚄
And finally, drum roll, please... 🥁
🚇 Number 1: Jubilee

Cheeky British joke
There's no way in hell that people who live in London or regular London commuters voted for this. The Jubilee is a horrible line - the trains have a very low ceiling, poor ventilation so it's unbearable in the summer/in rush hour, and is extremely busy. Maybe good for connecting, but not enjoyable. Circle/Metropolitan are a lot nicer and still connect up quite a lot of central London.
@RendererEP
Ай бұрын
A lot of people who live in my part of zone 3-6 East London loves it because its so much faster compared to the slow district line. Many change onto the Jubilee at West Ham to get to westminster despite both being on the district line. Also people have no manners on the district line, blaring their phones and talking loudly. The Jubilee line basically prevents that by being loud as hell

@@RendererEP I know it can be useful, I've used it lots of times before and even once essentially the full line from West Ham to Stanmore, but #1 popular out of all tube lines? Not a huge fan of the district either - much nicer trains, but is always crazily busy.

Bakerloo line is vibes
I like the Victoria Line because I've used it the most and it's fast and frequent.
Victoria ❤ the pleasure of always waiting less than a minute for a train 🎉🎉🎉

Piccadilly because it takes you to Heathrow, it's an express at Chiswick and Acton and it's in Dark Blue, my fav colour. They should make a rail line with parallel do blue lines
Yeah man jubilee is the best for sure I like sticking my head out the windows lol - but if I don’t have headphones you won’t catch me on there, it’s so loud!!

Central, because the two nearest stations to the hotel where I have lived when visiting London are Central line stations.

My favorite line on the Underground? "Mind the gap!" Otherwise it's the newest and nicest, Jubilee.
Jubilee is my favourite too.

I try to avoid the Piccadilly line where possible when visiting London: it's great for getting to the main, central sights, but I find the carriages too stuffy and cramped. At the places where District runs a similar route, I prefer to hop on that.

In terms of connectivity, Bakerloo, Central, Jubilee, Victoria, and Metropolitan are phenomenal. There are other pros and cons, but those lines do a phenomenal job at taking you where you need to be, if you suddenly need to get to another part of the absolutely gargantuan city of London. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jubilee Line wins because it's very modern and clean, plus it passes through a lot of nice places. The trains also make an iconic noise as well. The Central Line is atrocious. The trains are from like the 1300s and you feel like you're being baked in an oven.

My London Underground Line ranking from worst to best (including Elizabeth Line, Waterloo & City Line, D Stock District Line, C Stock Circle/Hammersmith & City Line, and A Stock Metropolitan Line). 1) Victoria Line (Good train model, good motor arrival and departure sound, good stations, pretty simple and easy to learn especially for tourists, goes to a lot of places, extremely fast but also very loud, an overall perfect train for my tastes). 2) Jubilee Line (Probably the most well known line. Goes to all the most important and best places in London. Good train model. Amazing arrival and departure sound. Good stations. Just an overall good line that gets the job done in every aspect). 3) D Stock District Line (Used to be my favorite. An absolute classic. Best motor arrival and departure sound out of any of them. Amazing stations. Goes to good places in London, especially for tourists. Obviously it was ridiculously slow and was loud which annoyed some people but to me it just made me like it even more especially the motor clicking noises it made when departing. Shame it’s no longer in use). 4) Elizabeth Line (It isn’t really a part of the tube but I’m considering it as a part of it just for this ranking). Really nice and fancy. Good motor arrival and departure sound and lowkey it kinda sounds like a ghost. It has an eerie feel/sound to it but you can’t really hear it unless you’re underground. Overall, just a good line. 5) Central Line (Probably the most well known tube MODEL alongside the D Stock District Line, not tube overall as that goes to the jubilee line as I said before. But when people think of the London Underground they think of this tube model or the D Stock District Line but then also think of the name Jubilee Line even though the Jubilee Line has its own separate model. But anyway, it has a good motor arrival and departure sound. Goes out really far. The stations aren’t all that though and it’s pretty basic/ordinary. Gets the job done though). 6) S Stock District Line (The District Line, Metropolitan Line, Circle Line, and Hammersmith & City line all have the same model now with the S stock. In terms of the trains they are all going to be rated the exact same which is pretty good. They make good motor arrival and departure sounds and are very fast while also being pretty quiet which I don’t personally like but I know a lot of people like the quieter trains. Though I’m ranking the District Line above the rest because obviously it has the best stations and goes to the best places. Pretty simple routes as well and easy to learn for lots of people especially tourists. Decent line). 7) S Stock Metropolitan Line (The first line to get the new S stock trains. Has the second best stations/areas/routes out of all the s stock trains). 8) Piccadilly Line (Just mid tbh. Mid motor arrive and depart sounds. Old and mid model. Only above average thing about it is that it does go to some actual useful stations. It’s also an extremely ghetto line). 9) Bakerloo (This used to be a lot lower but I’ve just grown so much more in hatred for the Hammersmith & City/Circle lines. Plus this line just grew on me a tiny bit just because of the nostalgia and how old and cultured it is. Still a really bad line though all things considered with pretty bad stations/areas, bad train model, and mid/below average motor arrival and departure sounds). 10) S Stock Circle Line (Replaced the dreadful C Stock the same time as the D Stock got replaced on the district line. Other than that, useless line). 11) S Stock Hammersmith & City Line (What a terrible line. The train model is the only slightly redeeming factor about it because as I said before the S Stock is very much a valid model. Though it isn’t enough to save this dreadful and absolutely useless line). 12) Northern Line (Literally a worse version of the jubilee. Only good thing is that the model and that’s only because it has a near identical model to the jubilee line. It has the 1995 stock whereas the jubilee line has the 1996 stock. Its motor arrival and departure sounds are also very different from the jubilee line and in my opinion worse. They’re alright but are just too quiet in my opinion. Most of the stations/areas are useless and trash as well so an all round terrible line). 13) C Stock Circle Line (Terrible model and motor arrive and depart sounds. Although, if you’re wondering why I put the circle line above the metropolitan line this time, it’s because the A stock is that bad lmao. Also, when you think of c stock, you automatically think of the circle line because the two were literally made/built for each other. They were meant to be as trash as they were. This sense of character gives them some extra points). 14) A Stock Metropolitan Line (The A stock was just terrible in everything and the decent metropolitan line route/stations/areas aren’t enough to make up for it). 15) C Stock Hammersmith & City Line (Legitimately awful in every single way imaginable to the point where I don’t even want to waste too much of my breath on this dreadful line). 16) Waterloo & City Line (Terrible in every single way just like the C Stock H&C Line but at least that line had some uses. This line is completely and utterly useless).
