Her name was Gretchen Johnson (now Gretchen Dawson). They met for the first time during this show, and they eventually married And was she was by Richards side up until his passing on 2012

There's actually quite a few you could live without: appendix, tonsils, etc. And there are plenty that might impair the quality of life somewhat, but you could certainly still live: an eye, an ear, a leg, an arm. I think I'll stop there.

Pamela Pugh: They SAY that it's due to people getting so extremely nervous when they are in front of the camera & realize they are on TV. IDK.....maybe people handle being nervous differently......I can't imagine being so damn nervous that you'd forget what town you live in or your husband's name. It's almost embarrassing when these people have no clue the meanings of certain words - like when the Newlywed Game's clip, when the question was "Would your husband consider himself more Urban or Rural?" & the pretty blond girl had NO CLUE what Urban or Rural meant.....You could tell that she absolutely had no idea in her head......I wanted to say, "Good damn thing you're pretty, Honey!" Sheesh......

You must not have watched these shows. This was pretty standard. To be fair, many of these game show questions were designed to get embarrassing answers, especially The Newlywed Game.

@@leecooper4213not really fair to be so critical though because unlike now (the 21st century) where information is right at our fingertips, back in the '60s and '70s information wasn't so easily available and it wasn't exactly convenient enough to find information. One's home would have to have a set of Encyclopedias or one would literally have to go the public library for the information to some of the questions that were asked
