nice to see the Jesse redemption arc, i think people went quite hard on him and i guess it is kinda normal the way he came across. but he seems like a very well spoken person who knows what is going on and knowing he was suffering from severe anxiety at that moment, kinda explains it. kind of a bummer though that cody didn't ask him what company he runs

I truly forgot about Jesse after seeing the dumpster fire of a creep that is Stephen. I feared this video would be about Stephen and let me tell, you the joy I had after seeing Jesse is indescribable. What a great guy for being honest and open about his anxiety and panic attacks. I used to struggle really bad with panic attacks, and they have come back a bit but it’s never old news to hear someone open up about their experiences.

I related to him because I got an anxiety attack once in public and it was terrible. So imagine that in a larger scale of audience. Hope Jesse doing well now, he seems like a chill person! I kind of wanted him to explain that remark in the interview, but he was probably just saying random stuff because he was so anxious at the time. He's super cool, though. First time I ever got an anxiety attack in public was when I was 13 at a party. My mom does this thing where she makes me go around and hug each individual person before I leave a party which is alright if it's people I'm close to but there was a lot of people there I hadn't even seen and years and I was already feeling anxious and having a headache and I just froze after a couple minutes and sat down in a chair. More embarrassing people got worried about me and surrounding me asking if I was okay. I know it sounds dumb and not serious but it feels very serious and I can't explain it

@@Songmorning The remark kinda made sense to me, but he worded it poorly. There are people who are technically not sober on a daily basis under medical guidance. As someone with ADHD and depression, I can barely function without taking vyvanse, an amphetamine like Adderall. These are addictive substances that share similar properties to meth, but help when prescribed in the proper dosage. Nicotine is also a stimulant, triggering dopamine release and has some immediate nullifying effects on anxiety (but can increase anxiety in the long term). Hopefully Jesse will meet with a psychiatrist who can provide a more efficient form of treatment than nicotine patches. I think as a society we have a weak understanding of sobriety, drugs, neurodivergence, mental health, etc. It’s like how the US government condemned ketamine and psychedelic drugs for decades, but now recent studies are showing how they can be an effective and almost permanent treatment for certain depressive and anxiety disorders under medical supervision in a controlled environment.

Same. I too had an Episode of GAD back in 2019. It lingered for a year, man that sucks. You are scared and you dont know what you are scared off and that makes you more scared.

This guy did himself justice by speaking with Cody. Seems like he actually has his wits about him. He's a really funny, cool, chill dude!

Even if he WASN'T having a panic attack...we should be more accepting of people (like him) on those shows. They are on there for maybe 30 seconds, and it is heavily edited. Nobody can display any authentic version of "themselves" in 30 seconds of their life - it's just too short to capture the complexity of who we are.

Now i totally feel for him as someone who’s experienced many panic attacks. If I had a camera on me during one I wouldn’t have been anywhere near as calm as him tbh

I HATE the fact that CUT removed that important information (the anxiety reaction), and instead left the rest of the other stuff up to paint him as a weirdo. I will admit, I was worried about Jesse when I saw this video; his explanation makes so much sense. Thank you for this!

Cody is genuinely a great interviewer. He makes his person feel comfortable by relating but doesn't take over and let's the person he's interviewing take the lead and say their piece. I enjoy watching his interviews a lot!

You should definitely do more of these, just being able to hear someone out and what happened and what they were thinking in the moments seems cool asf

i'm glad that you made this video with him! anxiety is a very normal / common experience and i'm glad jesse was open to talking about it. i get that way too and overthink quite frequently. i'm very self conscious about what other people think of me, as well as what i'm saying or doing. he seems like a very genuine and cool dude that just wants to be as truthful as possible.

this guy seems so sweet and genuine

When the call started and Jesse was laughing, you could //immediately// see a comPLETELY different and relaxed dude than who we saw on that button episode. It makes so much more sense now knowing that Jesse was anxious, and I’m so mad at the button for keeping that part out because people can be bRutal… Good on ya Jesse we wish you all the best for future 🙌

So glad you did this, sometimes we do things when we’re anxious that we regret, but you gave him a chance to explain his side of the story.

I have really bad anxiety and will occasionally have panic attacks and I couldn’t imagine having to deal with that while being recorded (just thinking about it is making me anxious). I knew when I watched the video that Jesse was super anxious but the fact they cut out the part of him saying he was having a panic attack is just awful. Ughhh I hope people see this video so that it clears things up because anxiety does this to people and it’s not something that people should be ashamed about. My heart goes out to Jesse and everyone else who struggles with mental health💚

He's performs for "a living" runs shows roasting people and he's forsure playing a victim, he's a sociopath who analysis every interaction like an American psycho

that was kinda wholesome, i totally get that him talking about how he didn't reconize his respones while anxious, when i'm nervous around people sometimes they judge really easily because they think like "what is up with this girl" but you can't know a person after one interaction, it's hard not to judge, i get that, it just sucks because when you are really anxious and panicking sometimes people get the impression that you are up to something when it's actually the exact opposite

I love Jesse! I’m glad others recognized him and his actual personality from other shows. And I’m glad he got to talk about his side of things! Having anxiety sucks and then for the editing to make it look like something totally else would send me over the edge, so his reaction after was super understandable.

It was super cool of you too chat with him. I think it was great for him to just have the opportunity to talk about what happened was great. He was so hard to read but it’s clear he was obviously very nervous. I didn’t even realize he was one of the guys on The CUT!

It's so brave that he continued to go through with the shoot even through an anxiety attack, especially knowing it was being filmed. What a good interview! I recognized him from other videos so I was a little confused at why he seemed so drastically different in the button but this clarifies a lot and resonates with me a lot as someone who also experiences panic attacks.

I feel like I have _always_ seen him for who he is and I think it’s partially because I have anxiety/panic attacks and ptsd. I think he is a decent guy and I hope he doesn’t let the comments continue to get to him. He seems like a really nice and normal, decent human being!

Had to come back to this after Cody voiced the button for Jesse's match.

i did judge a book by its cover with this guy at first but i have pretty extreme anxiety too and i can't imagine even GOING on the button, he definitely just got a bad edit because he seems pretty chill and nice!

As someone with an anxiety disorder,getting super jittery and almost disoriented before a panick attack,imagening sitting there trying to keep it together for the camera jesses reaction is very understandable.hope jesses anxiety stays manageable and that we see him back sometime

He actually seems pretty chill, Cool of you to reach out and I love how candid and honest he was

These past two weeks have been mad stressful with midterms, really appreciate the amount you post because it’s always such a nice break to just watch a video and laugh for a bit

It would be great to have a button episode where Cody is the button. Two singles and Cody sitting at a table together and Cody sitting with them asking them questions and prompting convo… so good

That was great, wholesome, and just genuinely fun to hear from him after all that. Cody is making this channel and videos really pop and I love it

He really helped put a whole new perspective on it. Seems like a really nice down to earth guy; anxiety can really make a person seem so different than what they really are.

I say super weird stuff when I’m anxious too but I really really appreciate his commitment to being genuine. He doesn’t deny that he said stuff he meant on the show, he attributes it to a side of himself he doesn’t like. That’s maturity and such a deep understanding of yourself you don’t see that a lot

Ok, it makes a lot of sense now. When you have a panick attack it's very hard to act "normal". Now i kinda feel sorry for him

I love how authentic this man is. Talking about anxiety so openly, including triggers, self doubts and physical symptoms... this is what we need! We can only grow by openly communicating and this is also a great example of media vs IRL perception vs reality. You're clearly spiritually inclined and the thing you said about the level of conversation not being there is totally spot on.. some people just speak different languages.. it's okay to identify that early and save yourself both the bother/heartache.

I've been watching Cut videos for 4+ years and I've always wondered about some of these questions. It was really cool to get a bts look at what happens during filming. Jesse has been one of the recurring guests on Cut's videos that I find the most intriguing, so I'm glad he got some redemption from that unfortunate moment on the button during this interview.

Mad respect for doin this interview, I myself have suffered anxiety my whole life and I’ve been in Jesses shoes before (not on The Button tho lol) where you aren’t yourself and you’re just a mess. Glad to see he’s such a great dude, and again, awesome job, Cody, for shedding some light on this and showing us the human element to the show

Yikes, as someone with an anxiety disorder I feel so sorry for him, I can’t imagine how terrified I’d be to be in his place with so many people judging me for what I did during a panic attack… I’m glad he seems okay!

I appreciate this guy sharing his side so vulnerably more than he knows, anxiety is literally life altering and we need more awareness about its effects

the way they cut out him saying he was anxious is so dirty bc looking back, his behavior is so clearly steeming from anxiety but that wouldn't of been my first guess.

People need to realize you can't really trust these "reality" shows. How they're editing them to make the contestants look a certain way

I'm glad you brought him on to talk and he explained he was having anxiety because I thought he was just a psycho. I get his reactions now.

i would be crazy into him, personally. he's so intelligent and a little bit eccentric, but all over genuine. also very handsome. i like him, i like weird people

this was really fun! it's impossible to show every facet of your personality in just a few seconds/minutes. we're always so quick to judge people based solely on little snippets we see from them and then think that's who they are, no matter if they just had a bad moment.

It was so awesome to hear a behind the scenes, it’s so easy to judge someone from a minute clip of their life but In reality you don’t know that person and what they are really going through. To us the button looks like a fun random dating show but I can see where for some people it would be really nerve wracking, I think I would be super nervous too going on that show so I loved hearing Jesse’s real talk on what was happening. I judged him from that clip but I’m glad to see that I was wrong! (Sorry Jesse lol)

This guy was super chill. Totally different perspective after watching.

I think he said something that is so so important for us to remember. Our brains are not wired to comprehend receiving criticism and sometimes hate on a massive scale. That's why I really wish people didn't act so casual about filming strangers, especially in their worst moments. We typically don't see the fallout for these people. (This is not including crimes-I feel unless it's a case of safety, do not act entitled to someone else's image).

So happy to see this pop up… hard times but you make them better

I have no idea what anxiety attacks are like. Glad he did this video cuz it really clears up the odd behavior. Glad to hear Jesse isn't having some type of downward spiral.
