I’m a Tanker in the US Army, tanks without crewman are certainly something to praise, the only issue is that so far, the time to load a round in the main gun automatically is still about 3-4 seconds longer than the average loader in the tank it self. That’s a lot of time in war.

You aren't wrong about the possibility of the tech being hackable. But there'd be very few people on the street able n ready to hack that technology if say they somehow got ahold of a Police Officer's gun during a struggle. They wouldn't be able to instantly turn that weapon on the officer...for example.

@@AWGragg007 idk bro. I guess I just don’t really see the point in anything like that - because something is going to go wrong no matter what. Which is why police should be receiving more training and not less. Let’s be real, if there was a riot - people would have equipment with them “just in case” to potentially take advantage of the situation. Idk. I just don’t really see the point. Because it could easily result in something bad happening and then the police not being able to protect themselves when they need to.

@@dr.bright3081 It's all good. I don't mind hearing your opinion. And it does make sense. Maybe those watch activated handguns aren't the best idea, I could mention a few pros that traditional firearms have over those new tech guns...like that you don't need a watch around your wrist for one thing, and there are no computers involved. So I pretty much agree on most all of the things u said. I think we're both just making different points, neither is necessarily wrong.✌️

The thing about pykrete - that ice ship was unsinkable. The pykrete was absurdly resistant to torpedoes and bombs, and that was the main selling point of the concept. The bat bomb would have been extremely effective, and iirc, there was one test fire where they made a test wooden Japanese town and released the bats over it. It made a firestorm and reduced the entire place to ash. But, the atomic bombs were ready by this point and were a BIT more reliable than suicide fire bats.

I bet that was really interesting to hear about and even cooler to be on a team to be able to be involved with it, that’s awesome, the only cool thing any of my teachers ever did was one of my middle school teachers was the conductor of the train in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes that killed buddy lol he said they wasn’t informed that in the scene someone would be on the track for a death scene and you can see him run to the window of the engine and look out to see someone standing on the tracks in one cut, then he showed us to watch the coal coming out of the stack on the engine and you could tell that the film was reversed and lil neat stuff like that. He said that the stunt man was insane and would run and jump between the wheels on the train when it was rolling at cruising speeds and would roll out the other side of the train. He said he was worried there would be a legitimate death scene in the movie with that nutcase doing all that, but IYKYK “the secrets in the sauce”

If someone’s dies instantly it’s a lot less painful than bleeding out. The rules of war basically say you have to show your enemies mercy and not have them suffer when they die. That’s why shotguns got banned because if you survived their could be irreversible damage. Blindness is an irreversible thing

@@kinglkd5102 Well death is also an irreversible thing too is it not? I feel like being blinded/partially blinded is a LOT less cruel and evil than taking someone's life entirely. If we're going to ban shotguns, then we might as well ban all guns at that point, because they all can cause irreversible damage. It's just wild how there's even rules to war to begin with, like it's just a call of duty game IRL.

@@AspireGMD I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that seemed kind of dumb. Apparently it's not ok to cause permanent blindness; but, if we use the weapon to temporarily blind them, then mow them down with a regular gun while they're blinded, totally fine.

So, the aa12 was tested but never adopted. Shotguns, especially of this type aren't particularly practical in modern combat. There was a bit of a scandal between the people who actually owned the parent rights. I can't remember what happened.

@@dr.bright3081 well, unless you're room clearing in extremely tight quarters, a regular rifle will do also, combat seems to be moving more towards longer ranges, which might be why the US invested in the new 6.8 round

Gotta invent guns with sensors and x-ray screens on them that will show the user whether or not the target is armed. That way, no accidental civilian deaths can occur. Well, I'd actually like to see this more for cops than for soldiers. If the target is unarmed, the gun automatically locks.

It's a good idea, but for every sensor there is a way to defeat it. A suspect could, for example, have a gun made with materials that don't trip the sensors, or place it in a pocket lined with a material to block them. Besides, a simpler idea is just to make body cameras mandatory, and make it a felony to turn them off/fail to activate them for any reason during the course of an officer's duties. You'd be amazed how cautious and professional people are when they know they're being watched.
