Things to add for this : - After Leffen beat Chillin , Mang0 came on stage and call out Leffen on a money match of 1000$ on it if they meet on bracket , in which Leffen won LMAO - Leffen later on that year got challenge by Sfat , in which Leffen 5-1 him and won 1000$ from him. Also Sfat bet on himself so he lost extra money LOL....... - Before the Salty Suite , Leffen at Paragon was saying "I read people on his twitch chat saying I hope you beat Leffen, but nobody said I hope you win Apex Chillin , you wonder why?" Insane trash talk before the game - Also before the Salty Suite , Chillin was singing the rap , and Leffen coming out of the washroom , comes and ask Chilling "Yo how is blue Fox" LOOOOL - During the summer of 2015 , Chillin was the joke and they were saying "people wont remember you for beating Ken , they will remember you for the 5-0 and my B" - Finally , years down the road , Chillin ask Leffen to use white fox again and he said yeah just go for it.

While we're cataloging things... that "until you win a major" line in the diss track really didn't last long either. Leffen won CEO like 5 months later which was the first time a new person outside of the "5 gods" won a major in YEARS. That hasn't stopped me from re-listening to that diss track from time to time though, it's nostalgic :)

I admire Chillin for staying humble despite losing so badly. A lot of people, myself included, probably wouldn't have been so calm afterwards. It's also nice that the two seem to have squashed the beef.

My favorite joke about this event is that after this grudge match mew2king 3-0’d Leffen twice in the same tournament, basically a 6-0. So if Leffen 5-0’d Chillin and mew2king 6-0’d Leffen. mew2king 30-0’d Chillin.

Leffen is self aware enough to know he is playing a game and real world life and death is much more important.

This video is awesome! I'm the lady responsible for recording/filming/editing the original diss track. We recorded the video and audio the night before the salty suite, staying up until around 5 AM or so in order to get the "greenscreen" shots (a green sheet taped to the hotel wall). You can see chillin's arm disappear sometimes because it was a very, very small sheet and chillin was too drunk to stay on his mark. Our recording studio was two mattresses arranged in such a way as to minimize the amount of partying we could hear from the other smasher rooms. I knew the set was a wash as soon as the diss track started playing in the venue, though. Leffen started cracking up, and Chillin looked hella nervous. Got so much good footage of leffen absolutely cackling throughout the whole set. That moment when chillin jumped up to celebrate before realizing he didn't actually take the stock... *shudder

A commentator named Toph who was at the event told a story of when he was hyping up Chillin before the match. He said that Chillin had no chance to beat Leffen, but once Chillin walked on stage and "Respect Your elders" started playing, Toph thought "oh god he might able to fucking beat him." One of just a few things that happened at this fantastic mess of an event.

Damn poor chillin, good looking out on everyone’s part donating so much! My uncle had a stroke in his mid 20s and had to relearn how to read and write, among other things. It’s no joke!

I've met Leffen once. He got dumped on by a random in a cash game in melee. Some dude who barely played casually. It was pretty funny. He was at a competition in Ann Arbor, went with some of the boys to a place that had smash on and got people to take his fucking money.

I smell smoke and my son keeps screaming something about the turkey burning, but all that can wait. ManyKudos is on.

I can see why leffen respected chill so much. A man with that much humility after being beaten is rare to see on the internet and awesome

@@mistertagomago7974 also like with wrestling (the term where you can't tell the difference between act and reality is called kayfabe) if you look closely enough (aka follow the smash scene VERY closely) you'll be able to tell its not really an act...its rooted in genuine feelings he has. Combine that with people like Hbox getting more respect and people (even top players) being more open of how they don't like aspects of Leff (or just Leff in general) and it becomes more obvious the paradime has shifted. If you want a more blatant set of examples just tune into his stream when he feels the need to argue about politics/religion/dumbass fighting game technicallities or...anything really, dude loves to argue and that's not neessarily a bad thing but you gotta have a big picture view on it lest you succumb to petty elitism for no reason... I should make it clear I used to be a very big fan of leff, heck if anything his elitism/god complex is what drew me to him...but things are different now. I don't follow him as closely anymore so while I'm sure he's matured a bit I don't know EXACTLY by how much so I can't say anything more about him beyond that. I've moved on from the whole thing...hopefully he does the same...

I would have loved to be the one to write up the article title for this epic encounter. I think it would have gone something like: "Nerd Loser Beats Nerd Loser At Overrated Video Game: No One Above Double Digit IQ Score Realizes Nor Cares."

Chillin had pretty much every advantage possible: age, experience, training (if you believe Leffen didn't bother training), watching Leffen's gameplay and studying how he played, huge support from the community including several of the Melee Gods, etc. He just had to do an IRL taunt beforehand and everybody knows the one true combo is taunt to get bodied.

I was expecting EVO 2018 Sm4sh Grands (Despite the GC thumbnail). It humiliated an entire scene, EVO itself and played a huge role in Smash being taken out of the tournament in the following years.

Man I miss Chillin. I hope he recovers and comes back better than ever. Slight tangent: Leffen made a good villain for smash but when he and jisu teamed up and just started falsely accusing smash players of being ummm assaulters of children... That was a step too far. There is still a massive list of players who got cancelled and lost their careers over 0 evidence and basically no fact checking. Don't get me wrong some of them are definitely guilty and there was lots of evidence but they just seemed to pull names from a hat. The fact both Jisu and Leffen are still in the community is disgusting. Thankfully lately it looks like a large portion of the top players have started distancing themselves from the toxic cesspool that is leffen. Hell Hbox and Mango teamed up to just dunk on him. That is hilarious. Also Leffen has been under performing everytime he competes in the states now so hopefully he will just retire. I would happily trade him to get armada back.

At the end, it shows that the dude at least has some perspective in that a game is a game, but someone having a stroke is so much more serious, and the game rivalry can easily be put aside for what is really important.
