It just sucked to be sent into lockdown for over an hour while no one got any announcements from the administration to let us know what was going on. Also this isnt the administration's fault but the motion-sensor lights in the hallway outside my classroom would occasionally go on and off which made us think someone was right outside our classroom which definitely didn't help the experience lol

It's funny that you mention tech and beverages. I was at Edinburgh festival 6 or 7 years ago and one of the bar locations had a great idea to give out free £10 "e-vouchers" when you signed up via email. Within a few hours of it opening my friends and I had created tonnes of email addresses and then drank free for a week. We shared the info with people working there who also started doing it. Terrible business idea, great for the punters.

Dude YikYak was HUGE at my college campus. The day I made a post (Yak? Don’t remember if it had a name) that ended up being one of the most upvoted of all time at the school I literally felt invincible. I didn’t have a life back then, it was easy to make me feel awesome. I still don’t have a life, but my self esteem is much harder to raise now, so don’t worry about that anymore.

That Vessyl thing actually makes me a little sad, because I can think of a potential use case: anti-drink spiking. Imagine if your drink glass when you're out would be able to give you an alert if it detects one of the common drugs used for spiking. It'd make people a lot more comfortable about going out and drinking in bars and clubs.

While not quite as easy and usable a cup that links to your phone, they actually do make test strips / pads you can dunk in your drink and test for many common date rape drugs. The only problem with those is how hard it must be to read a color chart in a nightclub, but at least it's something

I skimmed the indiegogo campaign. Being able to dispenser an exact amount of salt could be useful for people on a low sodium diet. But yeah, the rest of the features are dumb.

I know you're just making a joke, but as a fellow person with ADHD, may I ask if you're familiar with neurodivergence pride and neurodivergence acceptance? Basically the idea that all neurotypes (neurotypical, ADHD, autistic, Tourette's, etc.) are equally valid, and neurotypical habits and behaviors aren't the objectively best way to be human. I also have ADD (and stubbornly refuse to put the H in there). One of the advantages of the condition is that I can "hyper focus" if I find something interesting. Hence, some brilliant entrepreneurs may actually have undiagnosed ADHD, and are hyper focused on their pet project. The downside is that eventually it becomes boring, and Almay impossible to focus on anymore. That's why we tend to have so many half-finished projects.

Proud to say that my highschool was one of the few with a suspected bomb threat due to Yik Yak. Seeing an actual bomb squad along with like 20 cop cars pull up to our school was genuinely terrifying at that age.

If the chemistry of the original concept for Vessyl was actually solvable, I can think of a group of people that would absolutely love it: partygoing women. Imagine you grab a Vessyl of wine and when you go to take a drink, it says "Wine and Rohypnol" or "Wine and Ketamine".
