The Most High Risk/High Reward Style | Gokhan Saki Breakdown

Спорт

Multi time champion Gokhan Saki has one of the most entertaining styles ever seen in kickboxing. Much like Ramon Dekkers, Saki’s interpretation of the Dutch style of kickboxing shares a lot of similarities with the peekaboo style of boxing used by the likes of Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson. In similar fashion, Gokhan uses lateral footwork and head movement to land fight-ending counters, set up one off power shots, and completely deconstruct opponents' guards. On top of this, Saki has one of the biggest hearts in the sport, aggressively challenging contenders far bigger than him.

I grew up watching kickboxing in Australia and there were several fighters who used this style. It was more of a boxers style to kickboxing but it worked! Guys like Stan Longinidis and later on Gurkan Ozkan and Mike Zambidiis really showcased the heavy hands style and relied heavily on their head movement and power punches to win fights. The kickboxing purists didn't like it but the crowds did and those three guys owned the Aussie kickboxing scene for a long time!

let this be a lesson for aspiring kickboxers. he was able to close the gap of physical disadvantages by being the superior boxer. it was his boxing skills that gave him the ability to fight bigger men. now apply this to someone your size and watch how much easier the sport of kickBOXING can be.
