Depends on the jurisdiction you're in. Plus there might be some interesting loopholes and technicalities which we'd see getting exploited. For example, usually it's legal to shoot strangers in public locations at least for personal use, you don't need to ask permission. There's no expectation of privacy. So what if that revenge porn is shot at a public place. Would it make such revenge porn legal?

  • @Rachel_M_

@@adrianalexandrov7730 🤦🏼‍♀️. To take porn in public requires nakedness. Being naked in public is an offence in and of itself. I know Millenials didn't learn joined up thinking, but it's a useful skill

@@Rachel_M_ again, depends on jurisdiction. Where I am, it would be illegal to be naked in the city, but would be fine if you're in nature. And since naked beaches exist in many countries, I'd assume that is legal or at least gray area. Anyway, even in your example if it's filmed in public, doing pron there would be offence, while filming is legally fine. And let's say only ones offender's face is caught on tape...

I graduated in 03 and feel like my generation only would here about the horror stories of girls sending a nude to their bf, only for the pic to be school wide the next day and those stories made us much more cautious to sending nudes then my lil sister’s generation of todays 18-25 yr olds. If they are @ 89% taking a nude, I’d guess that my generation was at 20%…. If that.

I'm grateful for James McGibney + Anonymous stepping in to take Hunter down. I only wish he had gotten more jail time for his crimes. He was a straight up sociopath who did not care for another soul. I'm happy that he will never actually have a happy, fulfilling, honest life. Most of all, the tireless work of Charlotte Laws in protecting the victims beyond her own daughter was astounding. I really admire her tenacity and she, and all the brave victims, are definitely new heroes of mine.

There's two issues that get hit on here, one specifically related to this channel's content and one that isn't. For this channel - there should be some level of expectation for the rehabilitation AND ensuring someone can reintegrate into society portions of punishment - and not just be able to get a job, but be able to get a job making what they would be able to make previous to conviction with the skillset they have. That is to say, no "can't use computers" clauses post-release. Ever. No employers being able to hold a prior felony conviction against a job candidate if they've completed their sentence. If someone was a hacker and served their sentence, not only should they be unable to be prohibited from using computers, they should actively be getting assistance to get white-hat infosec jobs. In general - extrajudicial consequences for actions need to be legislated out of existence. No more "person X is hateful against group Y, they didn't break any laws but let's all contact their employer to get them fired, let's all contact their landlord to get them evicted, get them kicked out of college, etc." - make even attempting to levy social media to enact consequences outside of what the law prescribes a crime, with civil penalties payable to the person or people that were attempted to be "doxxed" - heavy enough penalties that the person that was attempted to be outed doesn't even have to consider working anymore. Think six figures.

What’s funny is……in another 10-15 years that Jennifer girl will look back and not really care. It’s only a huge deal bc she’s so young. When ya get old, ya stop giving a damn about shit like that.

Glad you interviewed this guy! Because he's called "the most hated man on the internet" a lot of people wouldn't even bother to talk to him so I appreciate someone willing to look past it and let people hear his side of the story. I don't have to like someone or agree with what they did to want to hear what they have to say. It helps to put the full story together from all sides. I've never been a big fan of hearing the side of a victim without also hearing what the person accused of doing wrong has to say too. As we're seeing right now with Marilyn Manson, people lie and although victims should be believed, the accused should at least have to be proven guilty in a court of law first before society can tarnish their reputation all over the internet. Like most things, cancel culture started out with good intentions but it's gotten to the point where now people accused of something are immediately presumed to be guilty by a lot of the public. Lots of people like Louis CK didn't even break the law but it didn't matter and his career was ruined! He was into something weird, fine but he always asked permission and he was still punished because he was "in a position of power" smh. So? If you're too scared to say "no" that sounds like a personal problem and you need to get some guts, not blame the other person. This position of power stuff is garbage, it's a poor excuse for people with no spine to blame somebody else for their inability to stand up for themselves. By that logic, people like Elon Musk will always be in a position of power because I don't know of any women that are anywhere close to on his level. Is he expected to just stay celibate because of that? It's stupid and completely unfair to men who spent years working hard to get rich, some likely just to get women in the first place.

@@Rachel_M_ I have 4 kids. Still, taking a picture of someone and uploading it to the internet isn't identity theft.

Hope you still feel that way after you grow up, have children, they appear on the internet, then you'll complain and then everyone will say "Hypocrite be thine name"... And you will only have yourself to blame. Karma is a ______ (fill in the blamk)
