Jose Siri is actually a really nice dude. When he was playing for sugar land right before he got called up to the Astros, I saw him play, cheered for him, made a really original "hey siri, hit a home run" joke. He just laughed and pretended he hadn't heard that ever before. A few days later I saw him play in Houston. He recognized me, smiled and tossed me a foul ball. Now an idiot in the row ahead of me dove in the way and knocked it 5 rows away, but I thought it was really cool he recognized me.

I swear he is the weirdest hitter I’ve ever seen, last year he hit .221 with only a .267 OBP, yet had a SLG of .494? That’s better than a lot of power hitters but he’s not a good hitter, and he hit 25 HR but only 56 RBI, and only 13 DOUBLES? He’s so weird but I love him

I am dominican and I’ve been watching siri since 2017-18 when my team drafter him in the dominican winter league. Something I can say about him is that his speed and glove are top notch and whenever he’s on base is a show to watch. Hopefully he keeps celebrating the game the same way he does and hopefully he’ll be an all star one day

Over the past 3 seasons, he’s racked up a FRV (fielding run value) of 30, including FIFTEEN in only 104 games in 2022. He’s an electric player, no doubt about it. Speed, power, defense.

  • @yostick34

Let me tell you how most fans here feel about him. Aside from the old heads that bring up the, like you said "back in my day" arguments, we absolutely love him. The Rays are featuring more and more of him through their marketing and are getting on board with his style of play. Don't forget, he was basically our guy replacing Kiermaier, so going into our acquisition of him we really weren't expecting him to even be as close defensively to KK. Turns out he might be slightly worse defensively, but slightly better offensively, so it kind of evens itself out. One other thing. Being a Rays season ticket holder (I know I'm like 1 of 10 in existence 😂) you don't know how often the phrase "Hey Siri! Hit a homerun!" Is said. I'm sure he's heard it enough lol ¡VAMOS SIRI!

I'm a rays fan. Jose is cool, but I'm worried about his relationship with Randy. Randy isn't smiling around Siri, you can tell shit is up between them. The past two weeks, things might be getting better, but I remember when Siri robbed that homerun in the A's game, Randy is dejected. Randy is upset. Even in-between interactions with them, you can tell something isn't right.
