As a foot doctor I look at basketball shoes and basketball sneaker technology a bit differently as I focus more on what foot types benefit from these shoes as well as the basketball shoe's functional attributes on the basketball court
Some of the main areas we cover in this basketball shoe playtest, teardown and performance review are:
- The weight, durability, fit and playability
- What are the features of the insole, midsole, and outsole
- Li-Ning basketball shoe technology explained

My, 5'10.5" (without shoes) 13 (nearly 14) year old son just got his. I got him them after your review. He plays pg for a high end team. He did have a pair of fission 8s which he loved, but he killed them a while ago, and wasn't hyped about the 9s. We almost got the all city 12 but held off, after he got his Currys when we needed them fast. He uses the Lebron 21 for his practices, and his Currys for game or the occasional practice he wants to go crazy on. The problem he has is that the Lebrons are chunky, with no court feel, and the grip lacking, but the Currys have no cushion, and his feet hurt if he uses them regularly for practice. He also realizes that the Labrons have more vert. He says the JB2s are the perfect combination of the two. He now wants another pair just so when his ones die, he has another, as he can't imagine them getting better. I told him to hold on, plus we don't know what size his feet will be in 6 months when he's destroyed these.

Hey, just recently saw a couple of your videos. Could you make a video comparing the Kobe’s to newer shows like the NB Two Wxy 4 or Anta Shockwave 5? I noticed you’ve recommended the last 2 quite a bit, however I also noticed that the Kobe’s were the most popular shoe in the last season… not sure if that’s just due to sponsorships or if the Kobe’s are a better performing shoe. Thanks!
