    Mr. Toyota would be rolling in his grave if he heard someone compare a 2000 GT to a Mark 4 Supra. As great as the Supra is, it's a modestly priced (compared to a 2000 GT or LFA) production car. The LFA would be far more accurate. Very expensive, very limited and right on the edge of tech when it was developed....

    The LFA and 2000gt is Toyota’s iconic duo. No Touring/Luxury car turned sports car is going to ever be close to those two.

    This! Although arguably the LFA was unfortunately more of a flop where as the 2000GT spearheaded the way for Japanese domestic sport coupe GT cars regardless of how expensive it was. It gave birth to competition and subsequently the next JDM legend…240z

    Exactly, Supra especially MK4 has literarily nothing to do with 2000GT, it has none of the styling ques from it, it doesnt have the M series motor anymore and its a heavy gran tourer. Aside of being an FR toyota with an inline 6 it doesnt really make it comparable, as there were dosens of such made by Toyota in the 80s and 90s Chasers, Soarers(og which supra mk4 is pretty much just a cheaper version of)

    I would compare the 2000gt & Supra only for the design ( long hood coupe method/recipe ) but yeah 2000gt wins for sure, i would think Supra as a 'not-so'/trickle down successor considering they're both a Grand Tourer

    MK4 looks nothing like 2000 GT. MK5 kinda a tiny bit, but definetly not mk4. MK4 is pretty meh looking except its rear end.

    Comparing the 2000gt to any other Japanese car other than the LFA should be illegal. supra ain't got nothing on the 2000gt

    @@oliverwhittington9461 It's because it has literarily nothing borrowed or even remotely similar to 2000GT in it's design aside of being FR coupe. Only thing you could argue that is somewhat inspired by 2000GT is set of round tailights. None of the toyota made supra's really have any of the styling of it. Only general layout, use of M series inline 6 motors and pop-up headlights. Mk4 has none of it so it's even less related to 2000gt than all of its predecessors.

    @@oliverwhittington9461 LFA is atleast comparable because its a revolutionary no expense spared halo car just like 2000GT was for them back then. Even if it has a v10. It's a naturally aspirated feel-machine that is meant to enthrall the driver and sound best it physically can.
