Hi Chad New subscriber here. Found you through Alex and John's channels. I'm from up north Central Pennsylvania just wanted to let you know we have more than our fair share of green slippery rocks up here too😂 Love watching you guys a wealth of good fishing information. And you seem to always be having fun. But then again you're fishing so how can you not be having fun! Hope you guys all have a good season and keep your boats right side up!

Nice to see folks out simply paddling and fishing and not reliant on props and batteries. Back to the roots!

When we were at Red Crest with Chad and Austin, we talked about this video and watched the dump a couple of times. I'm glad they left it in so that everyone can see that it can happen to anyone and the importance of a good PFD as well as some of the other tips Chad shared with us about this. First, never try to stand up in the current, just lay out flat surf down the current and try to get face up with your feet down stream. If you try to stand up you foot can get pinned in a rock and then the current can push you over and under. I have only been on 1 river so far and had zero places of current like this. Great video as always and great job on the edit Austin. Keep this content coming!

I appreciate you showing us how easy it can happen. If it can happen to you, it can happen to anyone. I love this kind of content. Keeping it simple and getting back to basics. The art of paddle fishing is a beautiful thing.

Oh man that “loss of gear moment” when you’re looking out into the abyss realizing just how much was lost is super sh#tty. Cheers to not dying and the next few months of buying the gear back little by little!

Man I’m sorry you lost that equipment, but glad you’re ok. I use rod floats, even though I really don’t like fishing with them. Last trip I accidentally knocked a rod into the water and sure was glad I had that float on it.

The river giveth and the river taketh away. The main thing is that you’re alive and well! This is the reason I always take 4 rods on the river and not my usually 8 plus.

Wow Chad! Tough break on losing some high dollar equipment. I hate that it happened to you. Didn't I hear you say one time, "Dress for the swim and rig for the flip?" On the other hand, after watching this video with you and Alex, and the one where you and Austin scouted for the trip, we have got to get together and do some river fishing one day. I just added it to my bucket list to do before I turn 75 years old and have to wear old man boots. Lol! By the way, congrats on catching the big fish of the day! You and Austin make great videos! Keep it up Brother.

That is your RVR-119 that Alex was in? I checked his channel & did not see him in it. I bought my RVR last fall. Due to health reasons, mine is getting slimed tomorrow. I am looking for channels with content of people fishing out of it to watch. Just to get ideas about maneuvering, anchoring, rigging, etc.

Swims and yard sales definitely happen on the river, at least you were geared for the swim. Everything else is replaceable. This really helps support that you shouldn’t paddle a river alone as well. Coming from the white water community, we advocate for having at least if not more than one fellow boater when out. Even on the easier runs.

Chad, I'm shopping for my first kayak. I've watched so many videos. It's crazy the variety out there. I want to fish and recreational paddle. I've narrowed it down between the RS117, the Perception outlaw 11.5, and the SKF117. I love that with all your options, you used the RS117 in this video. Any thoughts on which is better? I'm getting the bending branches paddle that is 1lb total weight. I can't think of the name. I want the best paddling experience I can get.

From the ones that you mentioned and the purpose for which you mentioned, I would go with the RS117

Thanks, Chad. I've watched your videos on paddling and deep water re-entry. Plus, many more. Does the boondocks wheel system work on RS117 without the extra mounting plate? Also can a rudder be added to the RS117 or does it paddle easily enough without one?
