The Most Expensive Items In American Pickers History

Ойын-сауық

For the most part, the stars of American Pickers find interesting but inexpensive items in people’s garages and sheds, ultimately getting them fixed up and making a little money on them. However, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fitz have been known to shell out some serious cash every now and then for an extra rare or unique item, and taking a chance on an expensive item usually works out for them.
From the rare car from the 1930s to an early prototype of a Star Wars statue, let’s take a look at the most expensive items ever purchased in American Pickers history.

They been doing that way before they even though of doing a show and they have always paid fairly even with no cameras. i think youre confused cuz they are not scrappers so they never ever not one single time over 15years+ have they ever paid scrap price..... that would be for the scrap yard to pay those prices okay little bucko?

@I Dig Ohio Well not everywhere. I live out in nowhere where it is largely a coal mine and farm area. There are places here that simply do not have internet service. Then often the places that do way over charge for it as compared to cities. The high rate often means many people can't afford it. For a 50 meg down connection you can get those pretty cheap in cities. Where I am that will cost you 108 dollars a month. That is including the modem rent. Plus if you have bad credit my ISP requires you to make a large down payment. They do refund it if you haven't been late on a payment in a few months as credit towards your future bills but not everyone can afford that. It's an overall poor area to begin with. So yeah there are places in the US in which there maybe some person broke and that may have something valuable without even realizing it.

One of the most expensive items that they found, that you didn't mention, was a 1st time comic book of Spider Man, the seller wanted 10,000, they called a comic book store and found out it was worth 60,000 and possibly more, they didn't buy it, but hooked the seller up with the man at the comic book store. I see alot of things they pass by that I know are worth tons of cash, but if they don't like something, they don't even look at it. I knew that the comic book was worth 50,000 +, I would have snagged it up as soon as the seller asked for 10,000.

You can only watch this show every once in a while. It's a sometimes good show but gets monotonous in the items they are looking for. Plus the pan away to the one on one with just yhe camera makes it seem a bit fake. But that's American tv, I am not allowed to watch tv with my wife (American shows 99%) as I have a habit of shouting at the tv or telling how improbable/impossible scenarios are. But mainly just knowing how things will end or actors reactions, catch phrase or similar. I hate tv so much.

You know what, I searched for season 15 ep 1 to make this comment, but its probably the only episode not on KZread. Anyway, it was called "A colonel of Truth". About this guy called "the colonel' who was eccentric and didn't want anyone knowing who he was, so his partner showed the guys around the pick. They kept trying to guess who the colonel was. Then they saw the bonnie and clyde car. The boys ask if it's for sale and the guy says the car means so much to the colonel...but "he's not here". In other words, for the right price, they could buy the car. It was at that moment I realized, the guy showing them around *was* the colonel. Mike and Frank never caught on even though the guy kept hinting around. I can only stand about 5 episodes until I have to quit for a few months. Then 5 more. LOL!
