"the 1%" paints a somewhat misleading picture, given it lumps in "regular" business owners with the people who might as well own the universe there are only around 56084000 people in the world considered millionaires and only 2755 billionaires but "the ~0.72%" and "the ~0.000035%" isn't quite as punchy-sounding i suppose also, the first trillionaire would be "the ~0.000000013%" the rich make for a small meal, but they should be quite filling once we get around to eating them, eh

That Niall guy is 100% a psycho. The cameras in the toilet, the "red room", the fact he met, married and divorced a woman in the span of 8 months and complains that she "doesn't listen"... I'm glad she's away from him. He's also so obviously coked out of his mind during these tours.

It's so annoying seeing how rich people used to build houses, and how they do it now. Like, where's the secret passages? The giant libraries with rolling ladders? The feel that it is likely haunted? Modern mansions are too sterile for ghosts, even the giraffe tried to leave😭

Because trying to build a modern mansion is so much easier than the old art-deco style. Everything is industrially manufactured and cut in squares, so you just hire a bunch of Mexicans with power tools to assemble it, no artisan carpenters required anywhere. Why spend $50,000 trying to get a nicely upholstered and carved solid wood door when rich people would gladly pay the same, if not more, for a plain steel door painted in sports car color with hidden handles? You are right, places like this has no soul, so on the bright side, the tortured souls also won't stay here 😂😂

I am deeply concerned about Nial's views on consent. He's admitted here to enjoying watching women in the bathroom on camera, assumed that all women want to watch men use the toilet on camera because he likes watching them, assumed that his male friends are going to be absolutely fine being filmed and broadcasted live using the toilet and assumed that people viewing his house are going to be comfortable seeing his sex room. Add in that he divorced his wife for 'not listening to him' and slapped Michael for interrupting him and this man is a whole big yikes for me.

Don't know what you mean, women famously love seeing unsolicited images of male genitalia and all men love sending it to them. /s In seriousness though, imagine the lawsuit that would happen if someone did do one of those prize events and a guest (on either side) used the toilet without realising what they were signing up for.

My parents live in a house (modest, for the neighborhood) overlooking this monstrosity. When they first started building it they took out three regular Bel Aire houses (i.e. mansions) and flattened the site. Then they started putting in pilings like you'd see supporting a freeway on-ramp to hold up one end of one of the outdoor areas, probably around 5000 sq ft just for that part. Beneath the whole thing is parking for around 60 cars and wrapping around the whole site, under the living areas, is a private running track that's around a mile or so in length. They were working on it for around 5 years and at first we couldn't decide if they were building an office or a` museum as it looked kinda like the Getty Center which is nearby. But no, it's a single stupid home with multiple swimming pools and nobody to love it.

If I were to have bought that house it would’ve been to turn it into an orphanage. There’s enough room for like 100 kids and there’s enough activities. I would switch out some of the features and rooms though, the cameras in the bathrooms need to be taken down ASAP and the night club would just be turned into a dance studio. At least one of the pools would be removed, weren’t there like 3? And one of them was on the roof or something? That sounds like a problem waiting to happen. I remember he put suede or something on the walls and that would have to go. I would probably make sure there was an art studio and a big library as well.

_STAY OUTTA MY SHED!_ I don't know about you guys, but whenever I build a mansion in Minecraft (which is the most my broke ass can aspire towards) I always include a secret dungeon and torture room. I like to kidnap villagers and trap them in the building, to act as my servants. When they try to escape too often, they get sent to the red room.

With a house that big, someone else could be living in it and you’d have no idea 😂 Edit: with the way Michael talks about grass, I think someone keeps him in a cage and only lets him out to give house tours

Perhaps these houses have a secret cellar, a cellar the owner might not know about? Perhaps someone could live in there, maybe for years? Perhaps that person could make a life for themselves by sneaking up and getting food when the owners are away? Perhaps you could invite your whole family to join you?

This is my exact thought when I see a moderately large house and mansions. If you have 7+ bedrooms and however many bathrooms/common rooms, it would be easy for someone to sneak in. All they would have to do is figure out which rooms are not used often, then move from room to room if anyone gets suspicious. And yes, this is my plan for when rent gets inevitably too expensive.

When Michael walked on grass for the first time he was probably scared to do it before because that's where bees pee.

I'm glad stuff like this exist because it's show to people that maybe, just maybe, Infinite wealth is not as better as we often think it is, to our normal life. This isn't a house, living there would feel like living in a Museum or a Skyscrapper's hall.

This is definitely how I tend to build my houses in Sims. Make the rooms huge, then I don't know what to put in them. And I definitely had the same thought about it reminding me of the Sims when Michael did the weird thing with the grass. There are several instances where they move like Sims that are struggling with pathing.

The house looks like a museum. It looks like an art room but scaled up 100 times over. With that same money, you could've built the greatest castle of all time.

Producer Micheal was in British Army. It’s quite common over here that ex military stick to traditions. It’s just all part of respect, you use the path instead of the grass. Forever have I been doing this out of routine 😊
