Tourists will still flock to London even without a monarchy. The culture, tradition, the monuments, this history, and all of the other things will still be huge tourists attractions. Nobody is coming to London to gawk at the Royals. Queen Elizabeth should be the last.

I don’t think so. They have money and by employing staffs in house, paying bills, etc they give money back to society. Not a bad thing. I m up for Rich people spending more and more rather than stacking up money. And they donate too. For some people, motivation of helping society comes when they are living life of their dreams…so better to spend some on themselves, live in a grand house and also spend money on others.

Most of the "large and expensive" homes in the US are located in isolated areas, and so their values are much lower than a home that would be in say LA or in the locations from this video. The Biltmore Estate is said to be worth 150M to 300M based on whom you ask, but if it was in the LA Hills etc it would likely be worth 500M to 800M if not more.
