JG in HD this is my favorite hike. I highly recommend it. I go every year and it never gets old.
So as an avid hiker I love going to lookouts. But a lot of times people are occupying them. First come first serve basis. But if I ever did occupy one for the evening I would definitely open it up for others to enjoy also. Seeing all those people outside most of them hoping to get a glimpse of the inside and you guys were just hanging out in there all day. Hmm I guess everybody that gets the cabin gets their own choice.I just know what I would do

@@erickillg811 unfortunately, you are wrong. People come in to check it out. I elected not to film that part. I have been in the cabin several times and I only fake-slept once because it was raining and I didn't want them sleeping in the cabin. LOL
I hiked this trail a few weeks ago as a day hike. It was a hot day, and a long climbing up to get there. It looks so nice to spend a night in the cabin.

Yes, it's something you should add to your bucket list.
Unbelievable. Hi I'm from bryson city NC and I had experience like this once in the great smoky mountains at a place called waterock knob it's called an inversion.

Thanks for putting together this video! Does it get very technical towards the top aside from going over boulders?

it's not bad just need to take it easy.
Any info I should know for camping over night. Should be going towards the end of August I can imagine there’s a good amount of people that do that hike. Is it better to get there early in the morning when trying to sleep over

Hello, yes, I would recommend getting there early. Pack for all weather conditions and bring your tent if you don't get the cabin. Also, fill up your water before you start the last 800 feet. Good luck and have fun.

30 - 32 pounds with the large camera. Talk about my pack weight at min 1:14
Thanks for the effort to put this together and haul the photo gear. Looks brutal wo the camera gear. You captured a great sense of the place and did justice to an epic sunrise. Have yet to do this and was helpful. A couple constructive comments IMHO. 1) the music volume was not well balanced with the voice and I had to keep changing settings 2) the music choice for me personally was a big turnoff and sounded like an aliens soundtrack and was very loud in my earbud 3) spend less time on food video and more on landscape. Will watch more videos from you. Thanks again. Now I am off to see your Rachel Lake video where you missed your big camera gear.

Hi Michele, Thanks for the feedback. If you check out my first Hidden Lake video, you will see I'm getting better. That was a trip I will never forget. We ended up saving A day hikers' life. He got lost at the top of the mountain at night. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKNp14-Mca-1YZc.html I would say my photography skill are much better. Check out my site at www.americanscotty.com/ Thanks again
Just think Rachel Lakodoks went on that alone! I couldn't imagine. It's so sad.
how early did you have to get there so no one else was there yet?

I think your best luck would be to go on a weekday. But it answer your question; I would recommend being at the trailhead around 4:30 AM.
