Pro tip for this target: ( I own two of them, and lots of other rinehart targets) Instead of just pulling the arrow, twist it first. You will feel the arrow release, and then they pull really easily.

Another pro tip for this target: rub a bar of soap on the first 12" of your arrow...don't go overboard, you will see a nice little smear...it will make it way easier to pull out, a kid can do it

After years of trying most of the major targets on the market, I’ve settled on Morrell targets. Specifically, the Supreme Outdoor Range bags, and the plain white Range Cubes for indoor use. I don’t anticipate I’ll ever go back to other targets as my main shooters. I do have two 3D deer that I brush up with before season; those are both Delta Macs. Oh, beware of the round, throwable Field Target from RH. I don’t advise anybody shoot at that target more than once; then retrieve their arrow. The target moves very easily, and it’s quite common to hit other arrows that are already in the target and break them off…learned the hard way. Mine is now a doorstop for my patio.

We have two of these on our range at my club (mostly traditional archers) and the have so far lasted close to ten years. They are starting to become to damaged, but will still catch arrows even from compound bows. The first thing to go with them was actually the rope.

I really love my Rinehart 18-1 target. I shoot wooden as well as carbon arrows on it. To my opinion you can’t get better value for the money. Great product 🤩, highly recommendable 👍🏼🏹😊🎯.

We have shooters of all abilities in the house. Including very small youth. Could you do a quick video or short on what the minimum pull a target will accept. Ive had kids arrows bounce off balistic bags and 3d targets. Which is very unsafe for beginners.

For 12-20lbs draw a cardboard box or knitted pet food bag stuffed with discarded clothes works. I've got an old Morrell target that is filled with old jeans and such. The only advantage it has over the chicken feed bags is that it has a handle. 😂

I lost a couple inserts in a target like this, I prefer hot melt over glue, and stopped buying them. Father in law recommended a $5 lube tube for the arrows and to try again. That extra $5 made all the difference and haven't lost another insert or had any issue pulling arrows out of these targets since. You can't beat these types of targets, especially if you practice with broadheads often. These are the best target review arrows on YT. Thank you, it's greatly appreciated.

@@actual5186 - AAE is just the one I have. It’s a tube that can attach to a hip quiver, and has an opening in the top to insert your arrows that coats them. You can get a handful of shots usually before having to re-apply. (BTW It was $5 a couple years ago when I bought mine just for the tube and no refill bottle.)

I suspect that using wooden arrows with glue-on field tips with this target is not a clever idea, because it's likely that some of the points will remain inside for a long time..

Swipe an unscented bar of soap across and all around the front few inches of field point and shaft. It doesn't have any effect of flight but usually makes it super easy to remove field arrows from targets, including 3D. The little clockwise twist to "unstick" the arrow from the target is critical before pulling on any target.

Rinehart 18-1 is very good but its also little dangerous as it can easily deflect arrows if you hit the slanted side and trust me that can go sideway quick. I wish it was a complete square shape so it dont deflect arrows. Other than that it takes arrows on arrows on arrows. But i only shoot field points I so want to test your strings what do the shipping cost to norway?

I agree with every word said. Add the angle faces allow shooting down hunting practice. This target is very expensive. A lower density less expensive target like they use to sell would be great for trad but the market is geared to Compound archery which require higher density foam.

i made an mistake and got one for ~400fps crossbow, some people still recommend it, most likely for the laughs. here is my findings: 1. it does not cure, nada, zero, non what so ever. Just for the sake of it i took broadheads and shot rectangular chunk off from it, i let it sit there for months and it was still totally lose. 2. i took screwdriver and poked it full of holes to simulate number of shots, it did pretty much nothing 3. you ruin arrows shooting into it, it wears em really fast, both impact and friction effects carbon shafts, crumble and wear 4. do not shoot field tips into it with any crossbow, or if you do, use larger diameter tip than the shaft is, this prevents most of the welding 5. no amount of grease will help you with welding 6. use large broadheads, not ones which has pointy thinner than shaft 7. do not use broadheads that has removable blades, 18-1 loves to eat em 8. makes sure insert is tighly glued, it will most likely come lose anyway due impacts, and it will be eventually eaten, along with your 70$ broahdhead 9. alumium shafts does not weld into it and are really easy to pull out. so if you got one and want to shoot it, use those 10. it stops lead fairly well

Looks like it's durable, and eventually the more you shoot it the easier it becomes to pull out the arrows. But really what happens when see shoot a crossbow doing north of 350 FPS? Some are near 400 FPS, and we have a bear of a time getting our bolts out of 3 D targets! And how about both mechanical and fixed broad heads? I'd love to see that video.

I think the Rineheart 18-1 is a great target in many ways, but I really hate it when it comes to getting out my arrows from it when I shoot my 70 or even worse my 80lbs compound with a 32" DL. Yes, this target can last many shots, but pulling my arrows out from it is no fun at all. No matter what method I use. I never shoot broadheads into any of my newer targets as they shred them apart very quickly.

I have the black out layered foam a couple field logic targets and some other cheaper vermin set . They say will last for over a 1000 shots well that because you only every 10th shot LOL.

A piece of glue backed carpet, 24 inches wide, 10-12 feet long nicely rolls into a game size torso. Held in shape by spray adhesive or a couple of pieces of 550 cord, roll loosely for a little 'give' when hit.....hung on a limb, simply on the ground,. Handles my 450 grain Gold Tips out of a 50 lb. recurve, sharp field points, pulls easily as penetration seldom exceeds 3-4 layers of the carpet. Roll "torso" a quarter turn when wear begins to show. 1000s of shots before turning might be necessary. Spray paint for rain resistance, (cover with tarp')? Cost? Remnant pieces are very inexpensive at any carpet store..

Lol. Grease the shafts they will aline right out, they should tell you that. But its a trick that works. Also thats meant for crossbows especially when you get into proper hunting weights because no target stops a crossbow except that one and even then it’s buried to the vanes. Which is good. The deeper you get on a target the better chances of a pass through on a animal.

Your comments about pulling arrows out is inaccurate. Trying to pull an Easton Axis out versus a Carbon Express Red is completely different. A finish on the arrow makes them slide out like butter in the Rinehart. You can also spray some lubricant on the arrow and they come out easier. Rinehart is the absolute bomb! I have the target you tested and now a 3D elk. Absolutely love them.
