My mom worked for rich people and rich companies growing up as a maid or staff, so I got access to free things. I felt no shame in it. I was happy to be the "less fortunate" kid in places. I never felt poor, and I was so secure-minded as a kid I don't even remember people making fun of me for it. If they did, I'm pretty sure I paid it no mind. I actually felt fortunate because I had access to those things because my mom was a cleaner or a cook. I said all that to say, you have to teach kids as kids that none of that matters and to be confident. If that's not possible, then sometimes kids are just born with the personality to not GAF. . .like me 😂.

Exactly. When I was growing up, the kids who parents worked at certain places, especially like the country club, lunchrooms in hospitals/schools/hotels were popular. My friend's mom worked at the country club and her and her siblings could get free food and go swimming during the summer for free.
