Believe it or not that was a flawless pronunciation of the Swedish unit 12:44. Apollos natural gift for European languages strikes again.

That was insanely entertaining. The french players were asleep at the wheel a bit. And that Austrian infantry was a perfect artillery target massed so thick like that.

The smart thing about the defense of Huegmont was that the french had to take it or their attack would effectively be split, while for the coalition it just gave them a forward position but losing it didn't threaten their lines. Taking it cost the French both casualties and apparently drew their players' attention badly.

Like you said Britain fell back way too far, and Sweden either didn't get the message or decided to make a stand regardless. It was an odd decision by the french to not focus on breaking the Coalition's right and beating them piecemeal, that's the opportunity that was handed to them. That said Sweden did a nice job of positioning and extending their lines to maximize firepower.

When I load up NTW3 and click 1805 campaign I cant play multiplayer in it (I updated the mod to version 9.2), like it shows that the host's game version is different from yours, so how do u guys play with randoms like this.I also cant play the peninsular campaign for some reason.It just kicks me out of the game when i try to play peninsular campaign.Im new to total war games so im looking for any kind of help.

There were actually swedes at Waterloo, afaik. A couple hundred light infantry only, to be fair, but they were there and they did see combat

The Swedish units do somewhat look similar to the Hessians which may have been present at Waterloo so not too far off, at least appearance wise.

Got a little bit of delight when I saw this pop up in my notifications as I'm currently away in France on holiday. Should of sent me a message and would of sent the results! Should out to my Swedish counterpart who held the line on my right at hugomount! Also dam those highlanders who refused to leave La have saint! If they weren't glitches in the building I could of used them to great effect!

Tbh, I think the battle was lost for the French at 15:05. That was around the time when the French Left center broke, which allowed the British to surround the French left. It wouldn't have mattered if the French right held, the British would have simply swung around and covered the French rear. If I was the French in that moment I would have fallen back to my ally's left flank and givin' them the farmhouse. Maybe they would have won if they had used the gap in British and Swedish lines to their full ability.

Curious: why do these videos always show units packed together with deep ranks rather than doing 3 ranks deep? What’s the benefit that I’m missing besides making the fight last longer?

I believe its better for unit morale, and they are also better resistant to melee/charge attacks that way

It's also just easier in general to manage your units in deployment as unlike in vanilla they have different sizes for example, UK Portugal has a 208 man unit with lots of smaller 65-120 man units
