The Most Criminally Underrated CCW Handgun

Спорт

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop makes the case that Glock has been eclipsed in the concealed carry market. Instead of spending money upgrading and customizing a G43X or G48, you could get the handgun discussed in this video and have a turnkey solution. What is it? Just watch the video to find out, it's that easy!

    For those that don't know, guns that use "Beretta 92 style" magazines are usually interchangeable with other guns, a simple cut or two from a dremel tool on the mag body will allow it to be used in another gun. There are modification videos on youtube showing it being done. Taurus Milpro/G2/G3, M&P, Springfield XD, Sig P226, Beretta 92, Canik, etc. all share similar mags. Food for thought with all the new laws being proposed/passed.

  • @raykettel1837

    @raykettel1837

    Жыл бұрын

    One issue I discovered with the Beretta 92 style mags is the shape of the curve of the mag on the bullet end is extended wider with a sharper curve. The Canik, Sig P226 and Taurus mags have a more rounded curve. The Beretta mags will not insert all the way into my G3c unless they are inserted such that one pushes the mag in with it angled away from the mag catch. I confirmed at a LGS that the mag I bought is identical to the mag that comes with a Beretta and confirmed that the mag I bought inserts without issue into a Beretta firearm. For a range toy I might overlook this issue but not for a conceal carry firearm. I returned the mag for store credit. I bought 12-round G3c mags for $20 each during a July 4th sale last summer and bought two 15-round G3c mags from Shop Taurus website during one of their 20% off sales. So even though the 18-round Beretta 92 mags from Lanbo's Armory are under $20 I don't want a mag that may get hung up on mag catch under a high stress situation.

    A friend of mine bought the MC2C recently. It feels GREAT at the range. For how small it is, there's no compromise on shootability. Recoil is somehow less aggressive than Glock 19. Only real downside is the availability of mags. They're out there, but you'll have to spend some time finding them, and you're definitely not going to find them on sale.

    @@TheFaceofRebellion I have a 5” 2.0’ 9mm in FDE (non CORE). I do have a Vedder AIWB “Light Tuck” holster for it but I don’t carry that gun as EDC. Except…. When I’m on camping or hunting trips and I’m running into town. Then I don’t want to leave the gun in the vehicle and carrying AIWB is very temporary. For when camping in remote areas or small game hunting and I have that 5” 2.0 on me, I carry it in a Safariland ALS paddle holster on my hip. It works great. But yeah, for me the 5” M&P is too big for EDC. THE 4.25” is a better option or the shield or one of my small Glocks.

    My mC1sc had all kinds of problems! Maybe the most failures out of any gun I've ever shot! But it felt very nice in the hand and shot accurately when it actually fired correctly. I got mine about six months after it came out. It and my r51 Remington contended for which one would have the most failures and I believe the Mossberg one by hair! Hopefully they got all the kinks worked out now.

    Glock 48 MOS will direct mount the Shield RMSc and cowitness just fine, i love mine. I believe the Swampfox also direct mounts. Totally understand the point you are making with the "ready package" idea. I agree. I do not see weapons as this "project" where you have to buy it, send them to this manifacturer, buy that custom part, install it and double the price of it just to discover you still need to pay for accsessories to have the perfect gun you wanted. Instead i'd much rather buy full built guns where you just buy an optic, a torch, a sling/holster and it's ready. Especially if everything is available on the market with basically zero waiting time. Because here is the big problem: what if that gun breacks, or is lost, or i want multiple of them in different locations because now i am proficient with it and i can trust it.

    They're still pretty new to the game and the MC2SC was the first one they made that was really worth something. I considered buying it to replace my current carry gun but it just doesn't have a lot of market share so there isn't a lot of after market support. Unfortunately I would like to support it so hopefully it gets more recognition but it's not there yet.

    Didn’t even know this pistol existed. I find myself carrying the Ruger LCP Max now more often then not. There are a few reasons for that and one is for extremely deep concealment that has to be a must. I wish that Glock would make a double stack 42 since it’s an over all more reliable and easier to shoot pistol than the LCP Max especially with defense loads. Not worried about an optics cut for a deep concealment pistol. I’m sure I’m in the great minority for this one wish but it’s for a specific application.

    I have been a Glock fanboy and 40 S&W fan from the introduction. Before the micro 9mm trend became all of the rage, I had a several small 380s and the Khar PM9. Recently, I decided to test them all out and see which I preferred from a shootability standpoint. After shooting all the competition, I bought the Sig P365 X Macro with factory suppressor height sights and factory installed red dot. I found several holsters for it with a light . That is also something to consider, is a holster that supports a light for the particular gun.

    I have both. 48 MOS is, subjectively, the better one. It grips and shoots much better. Significantly less snappy, easier f/u shots, trigger becomes better than the mossberg’s after a couple hundreds rounds. If you care about cosmetic, the finish on the 48 is and stays nicer than the mc. Definitely an instance of trying them both before buying.

    I finally got the Mc2sc. I simply had to have it, since I was so impressed with the Mc1sc. “Criminally underrated” is the best description ever! I threw a red dot on the #2 right away! However, the Mc2sc has only caused me to more fully appreciate the original. Nobody could be more surprised than I was! So Mc1sc is still my go to conceal carry. I do think I’ll like the Mc2sc the more I shoot it, but the Mc1sc is so much smoother, melts into the hand with its subtle slimness and is crazy-accurate with just its iron sights. Anyhow, really great review! Thank you! These are still available new in my local gun shop at $329 for Mc1sc (wicked bargain!) and $469 for Mc2sc. So much better than comparable Glocks.

    Hop, the new Holosun SCS MOS is a GAME CHANGER for the Glock MOS system I got the new Gen 5 Glock 20 10mm back in mid-February and put the SCS MOS on it and I love it so much that when I got the new Gen 5 Glock 21 45acp I was disappointed that the SCS MOS was out of stock from my favorite retailer. Right now I own three additional MOS Glocks a Gen 5 G22 and Gen 4 G41 which currently are running Holosun 507c one has the red ver. 1.0 and the other Green 2.0 but they are going to come off those pistols and get replaced by the SCS MOS units. I also own the Gen 4 G20, G21, G22, G23, G35 and I am planning to also get the Gen 5 versions of both the G23 and G35 so I can add them to my collection and carry rotation with SCS MOS.

The holsters are a little harder to come by, but the DeSantis isn't horrible, and Crossbread makes a decent 4 o'clock. I greatly prefer these to glocks and I like the trigger better than the SIG. Left it alone and shot my other guns. Using same target ammo no problems whatsoever with my also brand new P365 X Macro and other assorted guns. ( Springfield Armory, S & W, Beretta, H&K). Didn't want to deal with sending it back so i sold it. After some research figured out the rounds were not seating properly in chamber after firing and the next round resulted in a light primer strike. Still might give it a chance and buy another one because i really like it's slim profile.
