The Most Creative Midjourney & ChatGPT Prompt Method!

Ғылым және технология

Explore a novel method of combining ChatGPT and Midjourney to create unique and innovative AI-generated art in today's video! We'll dive into a technique discovered in a Midjourney forum that utilizes image descriptions to blend famous artworks into new and unexpected visuals. 🎨
Join me as we experiment with different combinations and styles, from classic paintings like Starry Night and The Persistence of Time to modern works like Nighthawks and Descending a Staircase, No. 2. We'll also explore the impact of prompt order and other factors on the final results.
Don't miss out on this artistic adventure and learn how to maximize the potential of ChatGPT and Midjourney together! 🚀
Here's the ChatGPT Prompt to use:
Please create a truncated tokenized summary that blends specific details and cultural influences from four descriptions I will supply when ready, emphasizing the hybridization of these descriptions. Prioritize specific details over generalizations and use varied sentence structures. The resulting summary should be around 30 keywords long and should not include any reference to the prompt that generated it or the methodology used to arrive at it.

    oh man, Synthography is such a great descriptor! Somehow that one has eluded me, but I love it! Although, I can already see detractors of AI art jumping all over it-- that said, it harkens back to keyboard synths, and there were plenty of people who were offended by them as well! To your other point: I think we're in this weird phase with AI art, where you've got some left brained people and right brained people, playing with these tools. The analytical/program-y folks are going to look for ways to optimize everything-- which, to be honest, is an art unto itself-- but for the art leaning people, isn't really all that fun. I'll always strive to balance the two-- since, I think that's where you can get some real horsepower out of synthography! (See, I love that word!)

    Love the channel!! Always interesting! I have a question for you if you'd be kind enough to tap into your experience. So, after I generate a character in Midjourney (full body), I want to use its seed to reference this character, but now I want this character sitting in a chair and falling backward. If I use seed, the prompt I used to generate the character in the first place but replace the full body shot with sitting on a chair that's in the process of falling backward. Is this how one would get an established character I created, only now generating some "action" with that same character. Thanks in advance... Andy

  • @TheoreticallyMedia

    So, to be honest, this is something that Midjourney isn't' great with. I know there are a bunch of videos out there that promise consistant characters in MJ, but-- yeah, they aren't 100% accurate. I think you can get CLOSE, but rarely do you end up with the exact same character-- things will vary from facial features to clothes. That said, in an Office Hours meeting a few weeks ago: Q. Will we have the ability to make repeatable characters/environments for story telling. A. It is in the works. They have found a way to make a repeatable color palette and now they are working on using that technique to make other repeatable elements. So...it isn't quite there yet, but probably will be soon. I DO have an idea that I think we might be able to use in the meantime, but I'm still testing that!

    I’ve been working with ChatGPT and MidJourney quite a bit, especially with photography, and some with paintings. Here are some things I’ve done. If you ask it to give you a MJ prompt for a scene in Mexico City, it will pick an appropriate photographer for the scene and location, the camera, lens, film, lighting, mood, etc. that the photographer would use. You can choose a cinematic option, and it will do the same thing with director and cinematographer. It will transform other prompts into this type, such as “Moon as silent guardian” or “volcano as opera singer.” Another option is “cinematic aesthetic narrative” (it came up with that name) which are very elaborate prompts that include many influences. I asked it for 10 prompts for Paris, as a unified composition, with three as paintings and the other seven as photographs of the different types. The results are amazing. What it did for “Ocean as eloquent poet” was really something. It’s rather addicting. I keep trying to think of new projects.

  • @TheoreticallyMedia

    Ocean as eloquent poet is such a cool prompt! That's one thing I love about MJ, you can prompt it with some really obscure, or even nonsensical ideas/words, and it'll conjure something up for it. I honestly have found it to be a great tool for inspiration boards. To be honest, I don't really use ChatGPT to do prompts, but I might have to start exploring that a bit. Honestly, I use it for so many other things, I might as well!

    @@TheoreticallyMedia I saw the prompt “cannabis as superhero” which I thought was hilarious, and asked ChatGPT for ten prompts like that, and they were all good. “Sunlowers as dancers” is very pretty, and “volcano as opera singer” came up with a very funny one. Anything having to do with language, ChatGPT is very good at. Another example someone had the prompt “A bear in a tree holding a Coca Cola bottle in its paws” for which I asked for ten similar prompts. Very amusing.

    Nah. I have kids, and to be honest, they couldn't be less interested in AI. Kids love the tactile sense of drawing on paper/sketchbooks etc. I presume as they get older, they'll discover something like Procreate and work digitally. But for now, I think Roblox is far worse. If you go through the channel, I very much focus on using these AI tools as assets to a project. I'm not at all a fan of having ChatGPT write a story, and visual prompts, and then using some AI tool to edit the whole thing together. That's not at all interesting to me (although I do think we'll see something like that in the next few years). Tools like Midjourney are creativity extensions that allow you to accomplish a lot more on your own than ever possible. And that's coming from someone who has made a living for more than 20 years working with cameras, sound, artists, and scripts.

  • @luismacias1554

    @luismacias1554

    @@TheoreticallyMedia Creativity extensions, where did you get that from? I am a successful person in the creative world and what made me a good designer was the understanding of meaning in art or design. When you create meaningful design you don't need help, you want full control of every aspect of what you are designing, you want to express something and everything should have a reason to be there. These "tools" create nice but empty images. I have seen many university students asking for advice from guys like you in how to ask midjourney the right questions for the conception of projects in architecture. It is so sad. Art and creativity has been so far a core element of human expression, when you ask a machine to "collaborate" with you, that human expression gets reduced more and more. AI will take over due to laziness, greed and lack of talent of many.

    @@luismacias1554 Fair points, but I tend to see midjourney and Chat GPT for that matter, as ways to trigger new and interesting thought processes. Being able to generate images quickly with midjourney, and being able to talk back and forth with Chat GPT about an idea, allows for an even greater creative spread of possibilities. Sure, if people start entering midjourney pictures into galleries, that would be a step too far... But if someone created a beautiful work from scratch, and it was inspired by a conversation with AI, or an image from AI, I don't see that as a negative thing.
