The story I heard was that the sheriffs son was an oddball that was obsessed with her. She kept denying him and he lost it. The crime scene was a cover up either by him or the sheriff. The weird thing is he was sent off to live with relatives in the midwest somewhere and never heard from again.

@naturalcambion3747 Make it a main comment, so people can see it. That cover up happens in small towns. I had a relative that died in a car accident. Police determined that he was the one driving the car. How did he fly through the windshield from behind the wheel? Also, his buddy who was underage to have a licence was determined, he was in the passenger seat, then came to the funeral limping (classic injury if your foot gets stuck under the pedal). Well, he was the local cop's son...

You're not alone. Look at your surroundings... Describe everything you see, write it down if it helps... that will teach you how to manage anxiety and will occupy your brain... it takes time but you can rewrite your brain! Listen to the birds, the crickets... Observe their behaviour. First, you'll find out how beautiful that is and later, you'll have them as reassurance that everything is ok (cos they shut up if something is wrong...and it never is). I wish you all the best.

This series is amazing! I absolutely love it! It's also terrifying to think that all these things happened not so long ago. One thing I'd like to say tho, is that even today, you have to wait for 24 hours to call the police about someone missing... The stories I could tell you of the absolute incompetence of the cops in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieux... My little brother had a horrible habit of leaving the house for a few days without telling anyone. The cops didn't do anything until it had been a day... I almost lost my brother because of shit like this... The whole system needs to be reworked in it's entirety.

I disagree. I understand from your point of view that you want your close ones to be safe. But you need to see it from the other side aswell. Where is the police gonna take the resources to investigate every such case. So many teenagers like to run away once in a while. And even if 24h have passed, there's really not any clues for police to even pick on. Personally I would say that 24h is even too short time.

my husband works out of state so im on our farm alone yanno- most of the time. We have 7 dogs- including 4 great pyrenees (a livestock guardian breed). And a german shepherd. the Pyrs work in rotating shifts- 2 out with the livestock and 2 in with me at all times. Then of course the other 3 which are in and out all day. People ask him if he worries about my safety being here alone. He shows them pics of of our pyrs- which the largest 2 are over 220 pounds and outweigh me by 100 pounds, easy. Even the smallest pyr is my weight- 120 or so. And says 'would you worry about YOUR wife being alone?' the answer is always no. Even if you get past 1 dog... there's 6 more coming for you. Get past those and I have a shotgun (yanno- farm.) lol Yes, the dogs drive me insane but nope... I dont worry about anything. I will say I am regularly brought bones, but at least to date... they are simply from deer carcasses in the woods LOL

There's a well known case around my area called "The William Shakespeare case". It happened during the 70's in Centralia Illinois. There's a lot of cop coverup and foul play in the case. Pretty interesting.

I feel so bad, her house sounded so volatile with so few people willing to stick up for a quiet girl, we hear her now, past all those reputation smearing rumors The twigs and rocks are the biggest clue to me, it feels like someone knew she was trying to turn a leaf to god and said, "you want to see your god? I'll make you an angel" I hope she's ok, wherever she is 🕊️

Rumours and lies can make your life a living hell as people believe it to be true and not see what is in front of their eyes. My mother believes, to this day, that I was a disruptive teen and 20 something... Because there was a hummingbird on her ear lying about everything around them to cause us harm. People should be more active trying to think critically and figure out if something is a fact or not! Especially if it comes to the people you love.

Sooo many old cold cases seem to have the same theme of cops and investigators just not caring or doing the absolute bare minimum. It's so sad, especially when years later someone just looks into the case and can immediately see what happened, but it's far to late for any justice to be served. 😩 no wonder there are so many angry and sad spirits stuck to this earth.

This case was hot on the presses back in 2018. It was covered by the popular Crime Junkies podcast, and several books about it were written, most notably Death on the Devil's Teeth. I remember it was also covered by Dateline, 20/20 and 48 Hours. I grew up in California in the 80's and remember my mom's talking about it back then. Good vlog.

That’s awesome that you are shedding light on this case. It reminded me of a lot of cases from the true crime documentary, “Disappeared”. Give it a watch sometime, you’ll be baffled by how often cops overlooked vital clues and evidence in cases not only the 70s, but as recent as the early 2000s.

Lmk if you want anymore info or if you think they’re interesting to research.
