This is a beautiful handle. I didn't know there was a G8 and it sounds similar to the G7 which was a great knot. I agree this is a grrat buy for the price you mentioned. Have a great weekend

Nice brush! I didn't even know about the G8, but I have been collecting bulbs over the years and am familiar with the G series. I'm glad they're making so many different types of synthetic knots, so more people can get something that they really enjoy. I'm probably one of the people in the minority that just likes them soft and fluffy and paints on my lather, but it's alway interesting to see what's out there. This is going to be a Herculean series and my hats off to you for taking it on!

Tobin has the glow-in-the-dark brush from PAA. Same fibre.

Hey Al! Edouard is correct. PAA has two brushes with essentially the same fibers. The glow-in-the-dark Cyclotrode X and The Doppler. PAA calls them Perihelion Fibers. Now in comparing those fibers to the G8, these fibers are nearly complete opposites. The Synbad is soft and has a little backbone, super soft tips, and is easy to splay. I'd highly recommend the G8 if you are looking for a fiber that offers you a different experience from the SynBad. Hope this helps. I'll be reviewing all of the PAA fibers in this series. @@Tobins_throwbacks Thanks for the comeback. It sounds like I’m in the presence of a synthetic brush guru. Love it. I had a brush with a Franks G5. Was not for me so changed it with the SynBad bulb. Sooooo much better to my liking. I have the PAA Amber Aerolite. I like the SynBad a touch better.

Backbone is the amount of resistance you feel when pressing a brush up against your face

There really isn't any. Mostly only applies to badgers and boar. Scritchy is a term used to describe a pokey, prickly and scratchy sensation from a brush.

@SynthVGguitarist More, a considerable amount more. I'd say the G5 has above-average scrub. And the G8 has more than that. If I were to have rated scrub for the G8 it would be an 8 or 9 with 5 being average. It'll be hard to find a synthetic with more scrub than the G8
