After traveling to over 40 countries, I got used to experiencing different sides of the world, learning about cultures and traditions, and seeing extremes that become normal after a while. Since I have been to Afghanistan, I have not experienced the "wow" effect since last year. But this has changed with my short visit to the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan.
Bhutan is the country that I believe is the most authentic in the world. It is probably the only country prioritizing "High Value, Low Volume" tourism. "High Value" relates to targeting mindful and responsible visitors, ensuring high revenue per visitor, and supporting a quality tourism infrastructure. Bhutan aims to avoid hyper-tourism and its damaging effect on the environment. The country currently allows only 300,000 visitors per year, which was much less in the past years.
After stepping into Bhutan, let me say I have been officially in every South Asian country. There are so many unique things about Bhutan that are very surprising to the rest of the world:
1. "Bhutan" translates to "Land of the Thunder Dragon."
2. Thimpu is one of only two capital cities in Asia without a single traffic light. (The other is Pyongyang, North Korea.)
3. Bhutan is one of the last countries to introduce television to its people. The government lifted a TV and Internet ban only 25 years ago.
4. National dress is compulsory for Bhutanese citizens.
5. Bhutan has never been conquered.
6. Bhutanese people love chillies.
7. Mountaineering is now banned, as the highest peaks are considered sacred.
8. All tourists must pay a 200 USD fee per day just to be in the country.
9. Bhutan is the ONLY carbon-negative country in the world.
10. Bhutan is known for its unique Gross National Happiness (GNH) philosophy.

i cant believe what i just saw ... i didnt know that bhutan has a very mystical view looking mountain... i only see that kind of mountain from a chinese film... so beautiful feels like theres something living above the mountain that hiding in the clouds like a god

Afghanistan and Bhutan both amazing place. but original culture of Afghanistan was Hindu-Buddhist which has been changed while Bhutan has maintained its original culture.

I have been watching your videos and never thought you would visit my country 🙏 welcome to Bhutan
I am a 58 yr old Bhutanese woman living in Thimphu but i have not been inside this temple even once. Must visit it soon. We as Bhutanese take these temples for granted as it is within reach whereas you coming to Bhutan paying hundreds of dollars just to see such temples, i feel quite guilty.

You have to pay $250/ person per day to Bhutan govt as a tourist to stay there. Guide is mandatory for whole tour. Welcome to Bhutan.

No other country defines a country proper no matter how rich and powerful they are. No matter how they brag about peace and better relations.

Yeah yeah nice place, but every country has a number of problems this one included. Have seen critical videos about Bhutan 🇧🇹. Just to name a few things the recent election was held against the backdrop of crippling challenges to the country's three-billion-dollar economy, including a youth unemployment rate of 29 per cent and an “exodus” of job-seeking young people in record numbers to foreign countries.

@@larsstougaard7097 . Yeah ..but not as many as other countries. The race to comfort and development has its consequences. Ofcourse, Bhutan has its problems but holding on to preserve and sustainability has thus survived for years showcasing it's pure nature at present. The rest has been contaminated and polluted in the race for development. There are certain things that Bhutan has avoided and abstained which is an example of many human desires and search for comfort are unecessary. And that humans can keep on living without much of easy living. If we look into our present world, there are uncountable things that we cannot live without. A habit and an addiction to those things , like a drug. We spoiled ourselves. And if we think deeply into it, there are so many things that we can live without. Many at times, Luxury is in the name of development, development is in the name of luxury. Yes, Bhutan has problems too.....but overall, it has shone and is defined best as a country.

I seriously think this guy doesn't know much about Bhutan to say the least if he thinks Bhutan is all smiles and lovey dovey. Guy doesn't know politics probably or just living in a cave in Bhutan and thinks everything is alright although it has high unemployment rate with too many looking for jobs. Even Bhutan has it scams but let's say it is a fairly religious country so probably that's why these dude thinks it's all good. If it's a kingdom it means it's being weild by a con artist behind religion. Why I say that?bcuz religion is man's first attempt to divide and conquer and then came thr 2nd attempt which is politics to divide and conquer the human race. So far it seems to be working and for the human race it's either this or that but nothing together.

We are grateful for the positive outcomes we've achieved. Bhutan might not be the thriving country it is today if our government had ignored the issues that threatened our security and sovereignty. These actions, often referred to as the flush out of terrorists, were necessary measures, not ethnic cleansing. The individuals involved were illegal immigrants attempting to take over our southern region
Unfortunately, I had to cut off the Phallus Palates Restaurant experiences as the video was flagged for apparent reasons. So, the video is 20 minutes shorter now. Thank you for watching ❤🙏🏽

@@spenore1 what is the cigarette regulation in Bhutan? Can foreign tourists brings cigarettes for personal use? If Bhutanese government let us to bring cigarettes do we have to pay huge sum of taxes? How can we find a Bhutanese travel agent? Man, I’m in love with Bhutan (culture, decorations, traditional dresses, people, nature, infrastructure..etc) if I visit Bhutan I’m sure I will not come back to Germany 😁😂🙈

@@NiklazSchneider well smoking in public is illegal so u should smoke when ure in ur hotel room or when there is not much people around bcs when u smoke it not onlyy affect u but the surrounding too. I think u should ask those questions to a tour guide operator and u can find a lot of them hrought their webites so u should be careful whemn choosing one for the best experience sir.

Honestly out of all the vloggers out there I can easily tell that you just seem genuine and authentic (no bs fake attitude that alot of vloggers pretend to be, especially when they go to south east asia and take advantage of the people.). This is why i keep coming back to this channel, no trying to be someone else or “cool” or any sort of exploitation which just makes the vlog enjoyable to watch like its straight out of the early 2000s travelling shows on tv.
