The Monster That Terrorized New Zealand In The 1880s

Ойын-сауық

Before the days of TV and the internet, myths of mysterious creatures around the world were abundant. It didn't take much to spin a person's sighting of an unknown animal into a story of a full-fledged monster encounter - a phenomenon which sometimes still continues to this day.
In the 1880s in New Zealand, stories of violent encounters with a "saurian monster" gripped the island nation, which was then seen as something of a final frontier. If any place was going to play host to a carnivorous monster, this was it. Panic swept the nation, and people still debate the true identity of the creature that residents finally found. This is the story of the monster that terrorized New Zealand in the 1880s.

The NZ longfin eel (Anguilla dieffenbachii) can reach 5+ feet long and 23kg. They are voracious predators but also mostly nocturnal and hard to see. British specimen hunter anglers have fished in NZ and caught 10kg fish and lost much bigger ones. Match?

10:18 what?!? But what about my taniwha at whanganui and our taniwha skeleton and the taniwha skeleton on the hill next to motuoapa? they are not seals, they are dinosaurs, I think theirs a few races of taniwha, the taniwha skeleton just on the right side (on the hill) of motuoapa when going through it, is the taniwha of the Persian and Māori tribe called ngati hotu, it took a hundred Tuwharetoa men to kill that taniwha, they waiting in a army line for a Persian women to bring the taniwha up the hill, that’s when Tuwharetoa killed the taniwha, the taniwha managed to kill a few of them but died itself, Tuwharetoa done this so it would be easier to wipe out the Persians, because that taniwha protected the Māori Persian tribe

They are trying to rewrite our history and turn our true history and ancestors into folktales and myths! Those who hail from The Polynesia Triangle are connected to the Spiritual Realm. Colonisation came along, found our rich lands, gave us their Bible, indoctrinated us to FORGET WHO we truly are! Our true history lies in the spoken words of our Elderly and what they saw, continue to teach our next generations that not what they write about!

It’s really disrespectful to disregard the actual pronunciation of these words. Waikato- why ca tore. taniwha- ta ni far Maori- ma o ri. When your making videos on anything native to anywhere it’s respectful to take 30 seconds to learn how to say words in our native language properly. It’s disrespectful if you do not. Thank you
