@@matthewlacey5307 we perfectly understand the role of the speaker... it's been the same for centuries. However, Bercow has shown us all that no matter who you are, you're not above the law. But more importantly, there needs to be changes in these modern times and this speaker has shown there should be no fear in changes by making changes and standing up for what he believes in. A speaker is meant to be impartial, we are aware... he does make his views clear, but he still allows both sides theirs and respects that. He is the best thing to ever happen to this country's parliament, it shows the need for change. We are not living in the 1600s anymore.

@Nigel 61 blocking no deal or allowing the majority of parliament to so is doing his job, there are very few in parliament or this country that want a no deal or we'd have a refurendum on the subject of deal or no deal. His job has been to allow representative democracy to be carried out for the first time in a long time given his predecessors tended to stifle debate. Also he did use commons procedure and some people think the EU stops us having that final say get used to this when we leave. Every politician is elected to represent their constituents not just the no deal "brexiters"

The likes of Ian Blackford and most Labour and Independent Party members, have the shocking audacity to tell other MPs that they should be respectful of each other, whilst when doing this, they behave no better than thugs themselves. A classic example of pots calling kettles black! If left-wing supporters were honest, they would acknowledge and call out, the deplorable behaviour of left-wing MPs, though somehow I feel they would be more likely to justify it. In my experience, this sorry conduct typifies that of many left-wing supporters up and down the country when they attempt to bulldoze their opinions into other people's minds. A deal is not going to happen. I maybe wrong. But my prediction is we will not exit Europe. There is far far too much to lose by doing it. From what I understand the public were duped into beleving that Brexit would be good for their country; the only thing on their mind was immigration. I don't think they ever understood, or that it was fully explained to them what the consequences of leaving Europe would be. Well. We can already see the surmising outcomes. 21 members of Parliament have resigned prior to the actual parliament itself being suspended, for the longest period in it's history. Great Britain does not even have a functioning government anymore, because of it. This is an absolute farce. You cannot blame this one on immigration or the immigrants. But you can blame it on bigotry and on being sold a bigoted ideal. Sorry. Because I do not mean to offend anybody here. But quite simply, just because the majority of people may want or decide upon something, it does not mean that it will be either good for them or for their country. You can ask a bunch of school kids to vote leave or stay, as an example , for the last half term at school. If you put that resonsibility in their hands and they even predictably vote 'get out'; well what does the headmaster do then ? And. We are paying our taxes for what ?

@@Aliameem Then you clearly understand nothing. Most people voted for Brexit to return sovereignty to our parliament . At the moment all ECJ rulings, Directives and Regulations the EU makes pass directly into UK law without the oversight of parliament. All this was clearly stated in 3 months of campaigning before the referendum.Project fear told us we would all be poorer if we voted for Brexit yet we voted on principle to return Parliamentary sovereignty and make the Laws this country accepts subject to the review of the MPs we vote for and not some unelected technocrat in the EU commission.

And of course Britain will be better off, in the long run, once all the remoaners stop creating havoc. This whole thing about "a deal" is nonsense anyway -- the EU have said since day one that they won't even think about discussing a deal with a member state: there's nothing to talk about until AFTER Brexit has taken place (so if it happens at all it was always going to be on the basis of "no deal"). The "deal" they're talking about now has NOTHING to do with trade, etc.; it's just about limiting Brexit, keeping the UK tied in the EU in as many ways as possible.
