acapellascience/Tim is great because his stuff is so realistic I'm not a chemist but anybody with a 3d modelling program can understand the "109.47 degrees" lyric by playing around a little with geometry

You are a smarter person than I. I cried through honors chem in high school and got a B at the end of the year.

I'm a physics student and I only understood up until he started talking about sigma pi and all that jazz. I am impressed that you understood the Dirac equation bit right at the start, though - QFT seems a lot more advanced than what's necessary for a quantum chemistry course.

I have a bachelors in microbiology, and while we skimmed over the quantum mechanics that are described in the first part, everything from the first mention of orbitals on I understand. This song is another example of Acapellascience’s amazing talent in scientific understanding, musical theory, and lyric-writing. The seamless transition from quantum physics, to basic chemistry, to organic chemistry, to microbiology astounds me.

When I first heard this song, I barely understood anything. Now after 3 years of studying biochemistry it makes sense XD I can also recommend the songs Defining Gravity and William Rowan Hamilton by the same channel. They're also very good songs

Have you seen Bohemian Gravity? It’s a Bohemian Rhapsody parody explaining string theory. But what you really should see is his Pluto Mars: Outbound Probe song.

I'm a chemistry (physics and math) nerd. Learned all about the chemistry of th body, and although it was a long time ago, I can follow and understand what this song is about... but I wished I learned it this way 🤣 And "Love the molecular shape of you"

I'm not a chemist but I have taken a lot of biology and some chemistry and biochemistry, and I start to really get it starting at like the second verse. The quantum stuff is too far for me though xD

I first took chemistry in 1970. This is not how electrons and atoms bonding was explained then. had to watch 2-3 times to follow. Try the Einstein sock puppet Blais first posted up. Lots of fun but way over my head.
