    Hello, Nadrel here, In this mission, the changes introduced by Moebius are the following: - Increased enemy attack waves and defenses - Bonus Credits for saving more colony outposts. - Gas re-added to bottom Island with a twist. - A few ambush triggers. - Infested Siege Tanks defend some of the bases. - Ally units will be infested if they die. The changes already added by Nightmare are the following: - Burrowed infestors around the map. Will unburrow and Fungal. - Infestors can use Neural Parasite against powerful targets - Enemy uses more Brood Lords and Corruptors - Attacks against outposts quicker. Infested spawns increased exponentially based on number of remaining infested settlements (including those without virophages) - Infested marines shoot rockets at air units Design thoughts: I re-added the gas pick-ups to the Southern island because I like to reward exploration. There are a few clues to be careful and you can absolutely escape with the gas and no losses if you're fast. Otherwise, the game plays similar to how it normally does.

    At the beginning of the series, didn't the mod say you could replay missions to improve the secondary objectives rewards, so now with super marines save all of the civilians on the first mission.

    @@stormcmmdr1412 it adds new buffs to enemies (some of them are bigger and take more damage, some explode when killed, some have cloaking, etc). You can actually set the percentage of how many enemies have these stats (20% ,50%, and 100%) to determine how many extra credits you get.

    Fun facts (spoilers): If you ally with Nova (also finish the mission normally), but then you go to the archives and kill her in the beginning of the mission - you get to play Breakout. End result - you get both Ghost & Spectres. The bad news is the specters have their default ability (psionic lash) instead of confusion. Also only the Spectres can call down Nukes somehow...

    id honestly say base ability of specter, ultrasonic pulse, is better then what the mod gives them, confusion is nice, but far more expensive and not nearly as spamible, though it does have a greater effect when you get enough to spam it anyway

    I actually like gas island, the idea that you can explore to get some resources that help pump out the introduced unit is nice, specially as that unit is ideal for gathering it. On top of that its not really THAT much gas, stuff like the mineral pallets spread around the earlier missions I'd argue is way less reasonable.

    Grant, Gas Island *does* exist in the Moebius Mod. Just because it uses Nightmare as a base, doesn't mean all the Nightmare stuff is going to be in there. Gas Island does exist, and it's hilarious.

    Firebats in this mod are just S-tier in general. They're sooooooo tanky with the armor upgrade and the upgraded medics. *for what you pay for them

    @@EdwardZhou_TJOL56 don't the units in bunkers/planetaries get the range buff from sensor towers? With that I feel like they're really good in planetaries. I assumed they did and used planetaries with marauder, firebat, and marines in them for all in and it felt pretty great.

    @@EdwardZhou_TJOL56 base wings firebats are pretty poop, expensive, really squishy, poor damage, horrid range, ect ect mod fire bats are slightly more expensive, but FAR more durable, have a incredibly powerfull force multiplier with there armor shred, have ok range when under a bunker and sensor tower, without it its still eh, but there very high dps makes it worth it to get em into melee, comboed with stetmen who can let the pyros eat everything short of a battery of siege tanks to the face and you get some seriously FIREpower. yes that was a pun

    Game design crafted for people on their first few playthroughs, like the default campaign, and design intended to be an advanced challenge for people who have played the game a ton are different. When I say that something is positive design for a campaign that doesn't mean that it's always correct for every solution ever. Game design isn't black and white. Gas island is perfectly fine design for the main campaign, but that doesn't mean on Nightmare you should be able to freewin the first half of the mission at 0 opportunity cost.

    @@GiantGrantGamesArchives the point about "free win" is good, but I would argue that on a higher difficulty a reward for the ability to get out and explore should be a thing even more, after all the challange to do it is higher as well. Remembering the free win point I'd say not removing but changing the map discovery thing should be the way. Instead of free gas, put a free cc with a few scvs surrounded by spore colonies. Or a clearable expansion spot that may or may not produce fliers periodically. This way you do cannot commit to it early game, but can be rewarded for pushing out later. Higher difficulty -> higher risk and reward.

    You get additional credits for using the Evil command in the archives. The random Evil buff isn't like Mutations in Coop, it just makes some units (or, if you do 100, all units) harder, stronger, tougher. I want to see *Evil* ghost things.

    for people who don't know go back and watch his attempt at the evacuation and look at what happened to the "free" money at the start of that mission to get a good idea of what was done to the "free" money at gas island

    For All In mission nydus, Banshee attack upgrade is a good choice.

    Grant, you CAN get all upgrades. Play a random mission off screen on casual. As you win, type e100 . You get all the money (bonus for evil 100). I farmed my cash in Piercing The Shroud, on casual, typing e100 as i loaded into the transport. Two runs and i had every upgrade in the game.

    This was a missile frigate followed by Vikings mission. Had legionaries follow once I hit the gas restriction. It was nuts

    I honestly felt like this mission was pretty easy on the Mobius mod (at least compared to normal Nightmare, if not the base Brutal as well). The raw stats of your 3 upgraded starting Vikings are enough to fight off the first infection wave by themselves with a little micro, cause they can two shot Corrupters and the Virophage itself doesn't regen like other Infected buildings. The Missle Frigate is also insane on this mission, as an actual competent versatile air-to-ground + air-to-air in place of the Wraith, which also outranges the anti-air Infected. Once I had one or two of those I pretty much a-moved my way through everything.

    When I played it, realised you could cheese the money from bonus objectives in archive, so as soon as i got to hyperion just played archive of first mission a few times for tons of credits and always had every possible unlock.

    you can replay maw of the void to kill the mothership and get 50000, that's how this mod works with firebat-hellion-science vessel, of course

    Interesting that there is more potential bonus credits in this mission than it's alternative, especially as there is no real time limit to getting them. Might want to consider upping the number of credits to something like 15000 per settlement on Safe Haven

    Any zerg level can be beaten pretty easily using mass ghosts, which have snipe on auto-cast and have dodge chance while cloaked. Throw a few medics in there and you're golden. I literally a-moved shatter the sky and only lost 11 units.

    i did the nova mission in the archives, killed all the specters, and did not seem to get any bonus credits (i was on char at the time). shame too, couldve used the last couple mercs

    As I understand it, it's not a close-by CC. It's a CC anywhere on the map. The Protoss missions didn't have one initially so that's why the extractors didn't work.

    @@lasselen9448 I thought the point was to prevent taking just the auto-gases at an expansion as a low risk way to get extra gas. You always start with a CC.

    i didn't notice any aberrations? Where were they? It seems a lot easier than it should be tbh, but maybe you are just that good. Enemy scaling with you completing objectives seemed slow and they made little effort to push back.

    Grant, or anyone, I have a question I have heard a few days ago and found it interesting. What is the purpose of supply in RTS games, like supply in SC2, houses in AOE series and food in Warcraft? Why not just give players max pop from the very beginning? I am interesten in your answer, thanks in advance

    its to stop players from too easily convert their resources to troops. in say company of heroes there isnt supply issue but there is resource issue. its another lever to stop things from going out of control

    Its a growth bottleneck. If you remove the need for supply then massing troops early becomes the only strategy that matters. You can see if with some coop commanders that have easy or free supply. You also have little incentive to defend anything but your main command structure, though thats also why people hide their supply behind those structures.

    I wonder if grant will realise what he can do in nova's ghost of a chance, for the ones who don't know, i will explain bellow: Spoilers for ghost of a chance: . . . . . . . . . . . . In this mod you will receive a mail from Tosh in the beggining of the mission, then, if you kill nova with Raynor you will receive 10000 credits and the mission will instead go to Breakout instantly, i don't know for how long can you do that since the message said there is a limit and i did it in the beggining, but still it's a very nice plot twist.

    If you are looking for a money cheese here: An easier way would be to play the mission and right before you finish set it to Evil 100 to get that bonus money without any bonus difficulty.

    The Archives credits seem a tad inconsistent, looks to me like its repeatable but only for certain bonuses. Liberation Day works. Breakout did not award me any credits from Archives, neither did ghost of a chance. We can see from Grant that Haven works. As far as I can tell there are 2 types of bonuses coded. one type pops up at the top of the end of mission summary and one at the bottom of the summary depending on the mission. Both Haven and Liberation day have the first type of bonus objective so they repeatedly give (potentially infinite) bonus credits from archives. Probably not intended to be exploitable but eh it's not like credits really matter in this campaign and it looks like the mod is geared to let you get nearly everything anyway. At a pure guess it looks like the objectives the mod maker coded themselves are the ones that repeatedly reward you where as any old blizzard bonus objectives that already had or have had credit rewards added on to them still work as originally intended and do not give any reward from the Archives.

    Walk in the park.. I almost feel like Grant should take a tea break before starting the recording, to plan those '5 minutes' at the start, and then nother 5 on how to challenge himself a bit, or how to make it more cinematic (or bring some meme into life).

    Might be impossible in vanilla WOL because many obj is flying... but in this mod it totally doable!
