It makes sense that there's Shield Batteries here as most terran gear has their own shields thanks to the good pals at Moebius. Would love to see a siege tank/colossus combo with the shield batteries for In Utter Darkness, with Missile Frigates and Phoenix for Anti-air. THAT BEING SAID, don't forget you can mass produce the tanks from the Hercules, so keeping the HHH Herc might be worth it so you can get out defenses fast. I doubt the research will work on Mohandar as they're not 'recruitable' units (from the merc compound) but if it does that would be glorious.

In utter darkness should involve tanks and fully manned planetaries. I think the reapers are the best hybrid air/ground units to put in them but it might just be rines. Also remember that fully upgraded missle turrets are going to be wayyyyy stronger than anything short of nerazeim monoliths when it comes to defensive structures
@BoredomItself

I think the Reapers are the best, but I don't know if they will have enough range to deal with Brood Lords. They might if the observer gives the havoc range boost to them, combined with a sensor tower boost. If they don't have that range I think the best option may be Missile Frigates. Other than that though a few Marauders could still help with Concussive.

Behind the scenes, Grant has to go back and look at the lore from Dr. Hanson, if he's in another campaign or another game he has to load up a save from WOL to consult.

Two things I'm surprised at in this 1. Grant did't use the Hercules as a barracks or as transport tool to take on the zerg bases on the top and the right side of the map. 2. Not once did he look at the stats for the secondary objective survivor dragoons and high templars who start at 3 3 3 and can be upgraded to be 5 5 5.

*uses hercules in The Second protoss mission*
Hello, Nadrel here, This is not a mission I spent much time on and it's not supposed to be complicated. However, using Moebius units and upgrade on the Protoss missions will indeed make them even easier. In this mission, the changes introduced by Moebius are the following: - Increased enemy attack waves and frenzied attacks. - Reinforcements include Legacy Aiur units. - Rescued units on Aiur have their Legacy skins - Zerg units on Aiur have their retro skins if available. The changes already added by Nightmare are the following: - Nydus worms can spawn in more locations for frenzied attacks. - More detection around map. Brood war queens and infestors will try to ensnare and fungal Zeratul - Completing each objective triggers the frenzied attack instantly, and orders nearby units to attack the base
I really like the use of the old designs for the Protoss structures here, it is Aiur after all.

I think that you should take a break from the Protoss missions and go unlock the Thor and Battlecrusier, and then come back to do In Utter Darkness when you have the Big Guns of the Terrans to play with. Yes. It'll need at least three extra videos (Viking, Thor, BC) but it's worth it. Personally I'm fine even with just the Viking, need a Brood Lord sniper after all.
For in utter darkness I’d love to see what you can do with siege tanks and voidrays or carriers.
I think you have to go for planetary bunker spam in in untter darkness. They're the most fun defensive thing.
Having both Terran and Protoss forces on this mission in particular is very cool given the lore. It's the closest SC2 has ever gotten to Eye of the Storm. I kind of wish Blizzard went into that direction with the Epilogue in LotV, just letting you control all the factions at the same time, even if it would have been a bit cluttered.
@misspurdy27288
Жыл бұрын
yeah but that would require them to care about the game.
Shield batteries gonna do wonders with shields on your terran units
SCVs in Moebius mod mine more than 5 while Probes only mine 5 minerals, so technically SCV is still the better option for workers I guess
I knew the Zealot + Medic dream was gonna be a disaster, but I'm really glad you ended up trying it anyways!
Grant: sends an army made out of 50% zealots against Ultra, Lurker, Bane Also Grant: I can't believe that fight went so poorly ❣️
On the one hand I'd like you to get the terran heroes for in utter darkness (you can build the merc compound right?), on the other hand it might completely bug the mission since you have to lose all units in it for the mission to end.
@Resistant396
Жыл бұрын
It would be funny if he only had to lose all *Protoss* units, so he lost with half his force intact.
Now i want to see the legacy of the void played with Protoss and Moebius units
Im still hoping he will notice that the protoss units have passive healing just like all the terran units have...
For In Utter Darkness, I suggest using medics to heal immortals, and reapers+void rays to deal with light and air units.
I'm watching this from behind and in the last one I was thinking "Oh god, I wanna see mass zealot, mass medic..." And some other madlad thought of it too! Thank you whoever you are!
This was a great deathless vod, glad to see you getting back to your origins Grant
I think you should go void ray Phoenix missile frigate. Being able to lift hybrid then missile pods them seems fun. Also all of the heroes are air anyways so it will be “airtoss” oh and lets add the science vessel too.
Shield Battery + Diamondbacks! You never got shield batteries in the base game, now behold the true power of Hardened Shields with Batteries!
In utter dankness it is! Theres a lot of good comps for that mission, but siege tanks - fire collossi - bunkers - some AA sounds like fun
Thanks for the fun! ^^ Planetary bunker at each access point and extension with missile turrets for defense sounds interesting. And some shield batteries besides tanks and goliaths could add extra fire power to the defensive lines with collossi? And full reaper, medic, condor for the mobile force? Would make quite the hectic fighting composition for In Utter Darkness. :)
This is the future Zeratul have not forseen... Terran and protoss hybrid!
Siege tanks, PF's everywhere, Missile turret ring. Become the full turtle terran. dragoons too. Maybe go full ground, no air units at all? You don't need those protoss heroes, you have Reynor's lads, except Zeratul, he's cool (when he isn't spamming voicelines).
For in utter darkness, siege tank + observer + sensor tower seems fun for extreme range sieging. But tossing in observer+sensor into any build should be worth it. Skyforce is missing BC, but liberator, vessel, battery for healing, banshee for aoe, void, carrier for anti-air and big targets seems strong.
I'm too late for this to be a real option, but I want to see the absolute overwhelming power of JUST medics and static defense on that mission. If you get those unlimited minerals and gas, you just work your way up to max supply and pump out absurd hordes of turrets with the natural defenses you gain, it would be fun to see how long that can hold.
For in utter darkness try missile frigate/void prism/science vessele(for iradiate). I think it could be kinda fun.
I think a lot of the problem with Medic/Zealot as a concept is that Medics can't keep up with the Zealot charge; I don't even think they try to. In that first fiasco at the northwest Zerg base at 14:42, the Medics barely did any healing.
Also I love how some units are sc1 models that’s so cool! Or he just a skin on but still really cool
Your off day is still 10000% better than my best A game 🤣. Loving the content, especially the moebius mod stuff.
Firebat colossus missile frigate would be my go-to composition :), with some medics for repairs
What else but the good stuff for in utter darkness. Planetary fortress, tanks, colossus, medics, carriers later with your missile ship stuff that can heal... Yeah
Siege tank, immortal, missile frigate, void ray, medic, along with marine + concussive marauder inside PF bunkers is a helluva defense
For In Utter Darkness, a lot of people are saying tanks/reapers which makes a lot of sense but I want to see Grant break his keyboard trying to use spectre/high templar.
In Utter Darkness: Tempest, Missile Frigate, (some) Phoenix and Banshee. If there's money left over, Medic turrets to cover all entrances (stall for time during pincer attacks)
Imagine high templar inside bunkers, storming from within (and attacking with their puny attack)
TwitchControlsGrant"s new PRAISE HELIX meme: PRAISE KEYSTONE
I would quite like to see just how good Tank-Phoneix is on in utter darkness
How dare we forget about Otto Turret, the greatest zealot to ever exist! My vote for composition for In Utter Darkness: Start with Zealot-templar-archon transitioning into Missile Frigate, Phoenix, Nightingale. Start with some beef on the ground and then transition into a highly mobile and microable air-based composition.
Reaperbunk, shield battery, missile destroyer, and Widow Mine, plus all the Hyperion Heroes.
Mass medic and shield battery, using medic turrets would be interesting.
Tanks, planetaries, monolyths for defense in utter darkness, with some missile turrets and sensor towers spinkled in for support. For AA some missile frigates and vikings should work along with all the free stuff they give you.
2nd mission Grant forgets to use the hercules to produce.
For In Utter Darkness: I propose Science Vessel/Void Ray. Science Vessels improve range, heal them, and have irradiate to deal with swarms of zerglings - on top of void rays already being a good unit for that mission. Mix in some archons and photon cannons/bunkers in the early game when we don't have void rays yet. Archons benefit significantly from range bonuses and static defense doesn't cost gas.
The Zergz'a commin' BY LAND, BY LAND!
5:49 I just imagine that zergling snickering as he sees Grant repeatedly trying to land the command center and failing

Ty for the upload :-)
Okay, so last mission objective is "defend until last protoss dies". Maybe Grant can try to hold until that objective is available, then kill all the protoss stuff, but hold the perimeter with terrans? That said, tanks would be extremely good for three main entrances. And build a planetary fortress at each entrance. With slowing marauder and marines as per usual, or even reapers if there is enough gas for that. It's a shame we have no vikings yet for quick AA response, so, probably, phoenix? Missile liberator frigate is too slow for that. And, of course, planetary golden base.
You know, it was a nice touch to have these use the look from the original starcraft. Sure, not everything could, but it was just... damn.... Good luck with the next mission. I know you just have to hold out as much as you can but I hope you manage the extra objectives
00:02 Grants laugh is so funny😂
Segi tanks. Planetarys. Bunkers. Firebats? Marauders. Missiles Frigates. Too many medics and auto turrents. Missile turrets? Mercs and Heroes. But most crazy of all. Nukes. As many nukes as you can fire.
Oh no, I thought of hive minding everything in "in utter darkness", but grant went for psy disruptor ... That's such a shame
Tank, colossus, medic, legionnaire, firebat/zealot, missile frigates, phoenix seems awesome on the final mission
@Illianor123
Жыл бұрын
A few immortals seem useful too.
Just random ideas of the day If Memes of Liberty ever happen, then hero units should have following special abilities: Zeratool: Randomly starts talking about some cryptic shit, cancelling whatever command he's currently given, or receives a temporary nerf to his armor, damage, attack and movement speed, because of his 'burdens'. Rames Jaynor: Has a build in 'wander' ability (like critters), which makes him wander aimlessly, beacause he's constantly steaming in the cantina, also has a 15% chance to either miss on an attack, or 5% to deal x3 normal damage. Tychoos: Damage is buffed and AoE increased (in both Marine and Odin forms), also deals 100% friendly damage all the time, because he doesn't play well with others...
So, finally the protoss and the terran heroes are going to stand together in the last fight for protohumanity. I mean, it would be really nice to have them all plus siege tanks, and it could actually be good for defense
Missile frigate carrier sounds pretty good, since they should both be healers.
New episode= happy noises
Mass medic and nothing but turrets baby! With that neo steel armor im utter darkness should be a cakewalk 😎
For In Utter Darkness I’m thinking PFs with reapers, psi disrupters to slow enemies, siege tanks and colossus, and frigates and pheonix for anti air.
The fact that you don't get spinny bois makes the zealot medic plan a lot less fun
If you save the plasma shots on the secret mission you can kill the hybrid. For some reason the plasma shots can damage the "unkillable" hybrid
This is a great location to play Terran + Protoss together
A comp that would be good to see for in Utter Darkness: Siege Tank, Immortal, Medic for ground and Phoenix, Science Vessel for air units Explanation; The Immortal can "tank" hits for the Siege Tanks while having decent single target dps for when Ultras/Hybrid come while the Siege Tank can cleave through the smaller zerg. On the air side, Phoenix is nimble and can be repositioned while taking care of the mut muts and broods. The Science Vessel is because of it's all around utility, it can heal mechanical while also being a detector. The fart cloud is amazing to utilize in whichever scenario it's needed in. Not included in the comp but my idea/opinion about possible static defense: Missile turrets (if you get the upgrade that gives more dps on them) to help with air units, Planetary Fortress for a bulky structure that can hold units (meme yet maybe useful idea would be Firebats/Marauder for both fire cleave and slow down of the shells) or bunkers (Marine or Spectre for insane range) with shield battery and medic support to keep them alive through the onslaught. Both with sensor tower for better fire rate and range
I am not at all surprised that the attack went so poorly. Since the medics didn't even get to the battle until all of the Zelots were dead, this wasn't a Zelot Medic attack, that was a 20 zelot runby ^^'
11:24 basically how Bunkers work is they validate that A. the race of the unit is Terran, B. that it is Biological, and C. that its cargo size is not greater than 4 or 8 (siege tank, thor). if you remove the Terran restriction, Zealots can not only load into a Bunker but they will function correctly as you would expect, IE attack anything that gets within melee range of the Bunker. So will High Templar, Dark Templar, and Adepts. This will also let many ground Zerg units get into a Bunker, but some don't function correctly. Namely, Zerglings and Banelings. Zealots work fine, so I'm not sure why Zerglings don't. Buffing their range doesn't seem to help much. Zerglings can still attack stuff, but not consistently, and only after buffing their range a little, and this is the same issue with Drones. Banelings just straight-up don't work at all. Hydralisks and Roaches on the other hand work fine.
the ultimate combination bunker zealots
man, this episode is just pure pain incarnate. 10/10 intro tho. here's to In Utter Pain next episode! tbh the medic+zealot could have worked but this mod have a great prejudice against zealots in Nightmare difficulty it seems.
I believe that a mixed defense of filled planetary, shield batteries, tanks, missile frigates and void rays would be bulky and flexible enough for the mission.
Tank/Immortal/Missile Frigate would be a good combination for the last protoss mission, Immortals body block for Tanks, and Missile Frigates kill the air and keep everything repaired.
@Zylosio
Жыл бұрын
You can just use planetaries to Block for siegetanks, this is basically all in but without kerrigan so reaper or marines loaded planetary Walls with scvs and siegetanks behind with Sensor tower to buff Will be unpenetrable
Now I want to see Zealot Scout vs Firebat Wraith.
What do you mean by the better version of tech reactor? There are multiple versions?
Would love to see us built to air protoss and air Terran, with the new powerful options for Terran might be neat. Maybe grab the remainder of the Terran air options? Carriers and Battlecrusiers and Frigates.
In Utter Darkness comp? Banshee, Widow Mine for anti-ground Specter, Phoenix for anti-air Immortal, Medic for hybrid
6:10 and that's why we play with "always" healthbars
I revise my previous composition suggestion for In Utter Darkness. Instead of Science Vessel + Tempest, I say Science Vessel + Tempest + Missile Frigate. The frigates can protect the tempests and heal. Also, feel free to fill bunkers with firebats, because I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The composition id really like to see is science vessel void ray goliaths with medics and firebats/hellions. I think it would control air and ground and have sufficient zerg kill speed. Everything armored dies to void rays and everything light dies to fire. Goliaths will probably be nuts with all these range upgrades(special mention to pheonix that also moves while attacking could be cool). Science vessel is historically always good as well as these broken medics.
I mean the banshee has the line attack and everything comes through to the base over a bridge. I feel mass banshee, siege and void rays would be fun.
FYI atm the "boosted hero stats" are just +100HP and +1 base armor
Would love a full sky terross composition for in utter darkness, but BCs or their equivalent are a while away it seems
Air terran for in utter darkness! Full of "liberatirs" seems fair.
You don't need to hotkey the gateways, they already have their own default hotkey, W.
Fully manned planetary fortress plus Science Vessel.
Battlecruiser Immortal for In Utter Darkness? Maybe some Dr. Dicks and High Templar as support, build a sensor tower and A LOT of planetaries? :D
I definitely want to see lots of siege tanks on the next one. They should rip and tear through most of the ground :P but that means I wanna see if you can hold out as long as possible.
